Elimination Chamber 2018 Predictions Part 1

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had an awesome week. So this weekend is another big week in the world of pro wrestling with WWE hosting the two thousand and eighteen Elimination Chamber pay per view. This time around we have two history-making Chamber matches, the first being the first ever Seven man Elimination Chamber match and the second seeing the women make history once again this time competing in the first-ever women's Elimination Chamber match. Both look to be very interesting, very promising, rather unpredictable. In today's blog post I'm going to be taking a look at both of these matches in my full Elimination Chamber predictions, of course, also looking at the other matches on the card. We have plenty to discuss and plenty to look forward to this coming weekend. I will, of course, be live tweeting throughout the Elimination Chamber pay per view on Sunday and on Monday I will be uploading a full Review and Highlights post on the show and a couple more prediction posts will follow during the week. As always, any recent blog posts will be linked below and you can get involved and tell me what your Elimination Chamber predictions are by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

Women's Elimination Chamber Match

Let's kick start today's blog post off by taking a look at the historic, first-ever Women's Elimination Chamber match. While this hasn't been as heavily focused on or hyped as the first ever all women's Royal Rumble match last month this is still a huge milestone in women's wrestling and a massive indication as to where the division is going. The Rumble match down a huge success and was in my personal opinion a fantastic part of the pay per view, a month later and the women have to deliver once again and prove for the second pay per view in a row that these big-time matches that have been given to the men over the years are matches they too can compete in and take part in. For the first time ever Alexa Bliss will defend her RAW women's championship inside the Chamber and in order to walk into Wrestlemania with gold around her waist, Little Miss Bliss must outlast Sasha Banks, Sonya Devile, Mandy Rose, Mickie James, and Bayley in what is sure to be an interesting encounter.

This is a match I'm really looking forward to. I have always enjoyed the Elimination Chamber match and I'm over the moon that the female talent has been given the opportunity to compete in their first. Do I think It will be as successful as the Rumble? One hundred and ten percent. Sonya and Mandy do make things interesting. Their lack of experience and extremely short amount of time on the roster puts them at a disadvantage and contributes to some worries I have about the match possibly not going down as well. Saying that, what we have seen from both women has been pretty impressive and when given the opportunity to really showcase their dominance it should make for an interesting story to help build Absolution but also allow these women to shine in a way they haven't been able to as of yet. Talking of stories, the relationship to watch in this match will, of course, be Banks and Bayley. We've already seen Sasha make it perfectly clear that she will eliminate her "best friend" from the scene the moment an opportunity at the women's champion ship occurs. Sending Bayley over the top rope in the Rumble proved that. Will she do a similar thing and take out Bayley on Sunday? More than likely. I want to see that Boss character come out. I want a heel Sasha Banks on my TV  screen because let's be honest, that is where she is at her best. However, while I do believe the money match here is Banks vs Asuka at Mania I also get the feeling this time around it will be Beyley doing the selfish acts and taking out Sasha. It makes room for a frustrated Banks to finally lose it with her best friend the following night on RAW and maybe even set up a mini-feud there heading into Mania. Asking for too much?

Like I said, I believe this match has all the ingredients to be a huge success. Give these women the time and the right booking and we have something here that could go on to be a standout of the year. They did it once at the Rumble and I believe they can do it again this coming Sunday at Elimination Chamber. Now, the winner of this match will take on Asuka at Wrestlemania, so is the right pick to leave Sunday's show as the RAW women's champion? Well again, I have to go with Sasha. A heel banks vs Asuka is something that could well and truly make for a fantastic standout Mania bout. They've already proved they can more than deliver a brilliant match up in a previous bout on RAW so now it's time to give them the bigger stage. Sure, a full circle story between Asuka and Bayley makes for something strong but the timing isn't right unless you want to focus on an angle with Bayley and Sasha soon after however like I said, it's about timing. Looking at the lineup, Banks is easily the right women for the win this weekend. The seeds have been planted for Sasha vs Asuka and I know for sure it's a match I would be tuning into. Not to mention the build over the next couple of months would be pretty damn strong! There are plenty of good things to come out of this match. A twisted Bliss from the top of a pod would make for a brilliant spot, Bliss being the coward champion she has portrayed herself throughout and maybe even managing to sneak in a way to keep her title is also an option. However, the night will also allow Sonya and Mandy to standout and make an impact, as well as Mickie James, getting the spotlight she truly does deserve and there is space for Banks and Bayley to really tell a story that could go either way!

Men's Elimination Chamber Match

As I have already mentioned a million times already, the Elimination Chamber has always been one of my personal favourite matches to watch. I've always liked the unpredictability and the sheer brutality of the match. We've seen the Chamber leave twists and turns in the road to Wrestlemania and things this year are looking very interesting. While extremely predictable in terms of the winner (something we will get into soon) this is the first ever seven-man Elimination Chamber match and the lineup is looking very very strong. With the winner set to face Brock Lesnar for the Universal Championship at Wrestlemania in April Finn Balow, John Cena, Roman Reigns, Braun Strowman, Seth Rollins, the Miz, and Elias will compete in the Chamber match.

This year we have an interesting Chamber match. Again, everything is here for this match to be a success. We have a true mixture of talents all of different sizes, experience levels, and ability and is sure to make for an interesting and must-see match. While the finish is likely to piss off a lot of fans the actual match as a whole could well and truly end up being one of the best WWE matches of twenty eighteen and possibly one of the best Chamber matches of all time. Now, when it comes to the end result, everyone and their mother knows that Roman Reigns will be challenging Brock Lesnar at Wrestlemania for the Universal Championship and so, of course, I am a million percent expecting to see Reigns to walk out of the chamber as the victor. However, that doesn't stop other stars from standing out. It appears as though a story is being built between Balor and Miz which can, of course, lead to an IC title feud heading into Wrestlemania. I am expecting Balor and Strowman to be the overall standouts of this match. Personally, if I was booking Mania this year I would have had either one of these two face Lesnar instead of Reigns but I have accepted what is sure to be another win for Reigns. It's important that in this match we have guys like Seth Rollins and Elias who's Wrestlemania plans are up in the air at the moment have their time to stand out and really get that little wow moment. Elias is, of course, the underdog here and things are very interesting with him in this match but we also have Rollins, Braun, and Balor who all have an interesting weekend ahead of them and this Chamber match is very important for them all regardless of the end result.

As far as the final two, I can see it being Strowman and Reigns but there are plenty of options. Something I wouldn't mind seeing is Reigns and Cena with the Undertaker making a shock appearance and taking out Cena because of course... I want that match! While the winner of this match is highly predictable I do think that there are plenty of options for this closing ten minutes or so.

And those are my Elimination Chamber match predictions! Tomorrow part two will be uploaded where I will be taking a look at all the other matches on the card!
