Superstars Who Should Have Been in MITB 2018

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had a great week so far! Okay, so with Money in the Bank fast approaching I thought I would take a few days out to really look at the card, the Money in the Bank ladder matches and their line up and of course predictions. On the Friday before the pay per view, I will be uploading a full predictions post for the show so keep an eye out for that! I will also have individual predictions up on another website which I will be linking across my social media! Today, however, I have something a little different but of course, focusing still on Money in the Bank. Now, the line up for this years ladder matches are both strong. The women's and the men's matches are looking to be rather unpredictable and big-time must-sees, however, there are a few names who I believe should have been apart of these matches that are not and so over the next couple of days I'm going to be taking a look at those names! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked below including my most recent RAW and Smackdown LIVE highlights review and finally, you can, of course, get involved and tell me who you would have included in this post/list by leaving a comment below or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria!

Daniel Bryan

Upon being cleared to compete Daniel Bryan has, of course, competed in a number of standout matches against several stars of Smackdown LIVE including Samoa Joe, however, things haven't gone as smoothly or as strongly as many expected. He hasn't been thrown into the WWE Championship scene, he isn't working a big-time feud against a star fan's are invested in and of course, he isn't apart of this year's Money in the Bank ladder match. Now, I personally like that the WWE hasn't thrown Bryan into a big program and instead are building him back up. Bryan always excels in those underdog storyline's and facing off against Big Cass puts him back in that role. However, a place in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match is something that WWE should have given Bryan. Now, the win isn't technically something he needed or an idea I personally favor but the position did feel far more needed. I strongly believe things would have gone down better if Daniel has been placed in the MITB ladder match. It would have given him the chance to build on his growing feud with the Miz but also involve Big Cass giving the up and comer a stronger and more interesting role at the pay per view. Assisting the Miz in a victory while taking Bryan out in the process would have worked far better than a singles match between Bryan and Cass. Bryan needed this match to really have another big standout performance while also pushing current feuds/storylines.

Mandy Rose

If there are any female superstars I'm genuinely surprised were not booked in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match it's Mandy Rose. I was honestly very confident that either Rose or Deville would have found themselves in this match considering they were so in need of the position. It's evident both these women have a strong future in the WWE and already they have found themselves competing in this year's Royal Rumble and Elimination Chamber and so it was a surprise to see them miss out on such a big opportunity like MITB. It's been rumored for quite some time that the WWE are high on Mandy Rose and while I can see big things in her future a role in this match should have been booked. She isn't the most experienced nor the strongest in-ring performer but this would have given Rose the opportunity to standout far greater than she already has. Would she have taken the win? Well, I did mention in a previous post that she would have made for a logical winner this year. The WWE has put a lot of emphasis on the relationship between Paige, Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville and it would have made for an interesting and rather entertaining story to see Rose sneak her way into the ladder match and with the assistance of Deville score the victory also setting up more work between the pair and Paige as well as the two women future down the line.

Eric Young

While they are yet to make their Smackdown LIVE debut SAnity are on their way to making their arrival on the blue brand. I am hoping that once these guys do make their debut they are given the push and the booking they deserve but an option the WWE did have that they decided not to take was, in fact, debuting the leader of the faction, Eric Young, at Money in the Bank. Of course, it always makes more sense for the competitors to have qualified for the ladder match but it would have been such an interesting twist to announce that a new face will be debuting at the pay per view as a special entrant. Another option would be to have Sanity attack someone on the night to get themselves in the match. There are so many options and it's a shame that the WWE hasn't included Eric Young in this match. His character and style really do fit this match and he would have made for an excellent pick as this year's winner. Sanity needs something big to debut with and this would have been such a great starting point not to mention how much he would have brought to this match!

The IIConics

Another move that did really surprise me was the decision to not have either of the IIConics compete in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match despite their strong merchandise sales, popularity, and weekly fan reaction both in the arena and online. Peyton Royce and Billie Kay have been on fire since debuting on the first episode of Smackdown LIVE after Wrestlemania but their booking has been pretty interesting, to say the least. There have been moments where the pair or one or the other should have scored a win but didn't and of course, the decision to not book them in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match was another interesting move the WWE could possibly regret. They've collided with Charlotte Flair who of course is in this very match and just like everyone else in this blog post today it would have made sense for one of these two to walk out as Miss. Money in the Bank. This is such a huge missed opportunity and I'm gutted for these two. I would have loved to have seen what either Royce or Kay could have brought to the table not to mention that considering how much the pair is in need of added momentum this really is a big mistake!

Andrade Cien Almas

And to conclude part one of this blog post we have Andrade Cien Almas. Now, If I'm being honest this is the one that frustrates me the most. There is anyone on this list I believe should have been in this year's Money in the Bank ladder match more than former NXT Champion, Andrade Cien Almas.
While he only debuted a few weeks back Almas is one of if not the hottest prospect the blue brand has on their roster. He's been apart of several standout matches this year alone and his style would have been a perfect fit for this particular match against these particular MITB qualifiers. Almas is someone so many do worry about in terms of his future with the company; things really could go either way for Andrade. He could be pushed as the big time star that he is or thrown into the mid-card section of the roster and that's not where he belongs. A place in the Money in the Bank ladder match would have given him the momentum he needed even without scoring the victory but it also would have given him the chance to clash with new stars which of course opens the doors for a new feud while also allowing him to stand out and make the impact he needs and deserves to make kick-starting a strong run on the main roster.

And that is part one of this blog post! Part two will be uploaded tomorrow so keep an eye out for that!
