Men's Money In The Bank Ladder Match: Predictions

This year's Men's Money in the Bank ladder match is looking to be one of the best in recent years. The line up is strong, the end result is rather unpredictable and there is a valid argument for each of these competitors to walk out Mr. Money in the Bank twenty eighteen. Throughout the week I will be providing MITB content from Monday to Friday as you have already seen and today we will be kick starting with a look at the men's Money in the Bank ladder match. We have plenty to discuss including a look at who the underdog is, the potential standouts, and of course the potential winner! I will be live tweeting throughout the pay per view on Sunday so go drop me a follow over at @TezangiVictoria!

The Underdogs

The first superstar we are going to be looking at actually doesn't have a name as of right now. Okay, so that does sound a little strange, but as we know, the New Day won a tag team match which meant that one member of the team will be apart of the Money in the Bank ladder match. It's been rumored that the WWE is keen on pushing Big E and so I am expecting him to walk into this match, however, I do also feel as though it could very easily be Xavier Woods who could find himself competing for a big opportunity. Regardless, whoever does walk into this match is heading in as the underdog and the most unlikely winner. Regardless of the rumors of a split or a big push for one of the three New Day members, I don't believe any of these guys will walk with the win and if one was to it would be the biggest surprise of the weekend. I believe either Kofi, Big E, or Xavier Woods could all easily make a huge impact in this match and will have an excellent performance that will shake the dynamics of the trio but a win? It does seem far too far-fetched.

Samoa Joe isn't a name you would usually categorize as an underdog but this Sunday he does fall under the bracket. Looking at conversations and predictions for this match Joe is a name that isn't popping up as much as the likes of Finn Balor, The Miz, and Rusev despite being a huge contender. Now, Joe is in need of... something but whether it's the MITB contract is another thing. Personally, I don't feel as though it's this win he needs but it is one he would benefit from. Joe is a dangerous competitor with a mean streak and it's that that honestly would make him such a brilliant holder of the briefcase not to mention it will give him that something he is missing right now on Smackdown LIVE. In saying that however, I don't feel as though the title of Mr. Money in the Bank is something that will be best suited to him compared to other stars competing. He's likely to get a title shot without the briefcase anyway and so I know I would much rather see another name get the win. I am expecting a solid performance from Joe but apart of me also worried he will fade into the background a little.

Make or Break

There are two superstars who honestly standout the most whenever anyone asks who is in need of this victory the most; Finn Balor and Rusev. Personally, Rusev is one of my favourites for the win and one of the talents I will be rooting for this Sunday. The idea of a Mr. and Mrs. Money in the Bank is one I'm very much in favor of but in all honesty, there isn't anyone more worthy of this victory than Rusev. He's by far one of the most over talents on the roster and the Rusev day idea is one that should be pushed far more in the coming weeks and months. A victory this weekend is exactly what he needs and is worthy of. He, of course, is a fan favourite and someone so many wants to see as WWE Champion down the line. Now, unlike many other names in this match Rusev isn't likely to just be given a title shot and so the briefcase is something that will come in handy far more for him than it would for so many others. If he doesn't get this victory I'm not sure where he goes next and that's a concern we don't really have for anybody else in this match apart from Balor.

Now, it is a touch different with the former NXT Champion because I do believe that he has a story and a way to the Universal Championship especially if Rumours are true and Rollins is the one to challenge Lesnar for the title at SummerSlam and walk out as champion. The pair going one on one for the title later in the year makes sense and is something I would love to see! With that in mind, he may not be as in danger as Rusev but he remains a name who really is in need of a big victory and could benefit greatly from becoming Mr. Money in the Bank. I'm expecting several standout moments and spots throughout this match at the hands of Balor and he is a big-time favourite for the overall win.

The Most Dominant Force in MITB History?

Braun Strowman is a very interesting name to put forward as a competitor in the Money in the Bank ladder match. He's not the typical star we see in this kind of match especially get the win and so he is one of the most unlikely stars to walk out Mr. Money in the Bank. Do I think Braun Strowman can, in fact, do it and walk out with the Briefcase?  Yeah, I actually do but I don't believe he should. There is an argument for him, one hundred percent and a part of me would love to see him get the win. He would make for a different kind of Briefcase holder and it would be interesting to see what he would do next and the reign of terror he would introduce but in all honesty, there are so many other names who I believe are more in need of this win and should walk out the victor over Strowman. Saying that I'm confident he will have one heck of a dominant performance, so dominant in fact he could shape his legacy even more and really make an impact like we've never seen before in this kind of match. Getting passed Strowman to get their hands on the briefcase is not going to be an easy task for any of these competitors and with Strowman having so much history with so many names in this match I'm really excited to see what we get from him this weekend!

Finding Their Place

If I'm being honest there are two superstars I'm not sure where to place in this match, Kevin Owens, and Bobby Roode. Now, Roode is a name who too is in need of something and that something is in actual fact a heel turn which we could either see this weekend or very soon after this pay per view. As for the win and the title of Mr. Money in the Bank, it's something he would benefit from and something that would suit his character greatly. Finding his place in this match isn't going to be easy but I'm hoping he really does get a few standout moments in and can really make an impact because in all honesty, he needs it.
We then, of course, have Kevin Owens who nearly falls into the same bracket but is not in much "danger" as Roode and in actual fact is a big fan favourite for the overall win. Many do believe it will be Owens who walks out as Mr. Money in the Bank and it makes sense. He has momentum, there's a story for him and an easy way for him to walk out as the winner. Assitance from Zayn is something we could expect if he is the star to actually get the win this weekend which creates an even bigger story and even a possible Wrestlemania main event for next year, Owens VS Zayn for the Universal Championship. The argument Zayn would always have is simple, he helped Owens get that MITB win which allowed him to become champion, we then see the relationship breakdown and of course, the match is booked.

My Winner

And finally, I do actually have a full article on why the Miz should win Money in the Bank this year and that will be uploaded very soon and linked across my social media but I'm sure it comes as no surprise to anyone to see him listed as my winner. It's simple, I want next years Wrestlemania main event to be The Miz vs Daniel Bryan for the WWE Championship and how do we get that? Well, the first step is crowning the Miz, Mr. Money in the Bank. Bryan is sure to get a title shot down the line possibly against Nakamura and The Miz cashing in would be simply perfect. This is the rivalry fans want to see, the match we want to see and there is no denying the Miz has earned this position and is extremely deserving!
