Six Superstars Ivelisse Must Collide With Upon WWE Return
Last weekend news broke that former Lucha Underground star
Ivelisse had resigned with the WWE after several years away from the company.
An NXT original, the then Sofia Cortez was known for her work alongside Paige
in the Anti Divas alliance, however, departed with the company early in her
career. In the years that followed Ivelisse would become a huge name on the
independent women’s wrestling scene working for promotions such as Impact
Wrestling, Lucha Underground, WCPW and several other indie promotions stepping
in the ring with both male and female competitors to provide excellent matches
building her name. Resigning with the WWE is an exciting next step in her
career and this extremely talented and experienced star has plenty to offer the
women’s division but just who must Ivelisse collide with upon her return?
Sasha Banks
I’ve said it before and I will say it again, a personal
dream match of mine sees Sasha Banks and Ivelisse collide in the ring. While
the pair have never worked for the same promotion at the same time their
induvial styles quite clearly complement each other and given enough time the
two could seriously provide fans with a very entertaining contest sure to grab
the attention of the WWE Universe. Both Banks and Ivelisse have adopted
elements to Lucha libre in the wrestling style and their fast-paced style of
wrestling mixed with their matt based skill means these two have all the
potential in the world to create something very magical in the ring together
sure to remind fans of why Banks is one of the best of the best and show the
world why Ivelisse is massively underrated talent in the wrestling world.
Ember Moon
While WWE fans haven’t seen half of what Ember Moon is
capable of anyone aware of her wrestling history knows full well this is a
woman more than capable of working one epic standout matchup and taking on
Ivelisse may just bring out the best in Moon so far. Ember’s fast-paced energy,
athleticism and comfortability on the top rope ensures that she and the former
Lucha Underground star could provide a very exciting contest! There may be a
lack of strong storytelling here but if you give these two women longer than
fifteen to twenty minutes then this could very easily go down as a yearly
highlight and give Moon the big break she has been waiting for since her main
roster call up.
Io Shairi
One of the most exciting stars on the NXT roster today is of
course IO Shairi. After a strong debut few months, Shari is on her way to
capturing NXT gold and is the favourite to dethrone the two-time champ, Shayna
Baszler. There, of course, is already an array of dream matches fans want to see
Io compete in but with news of Ivelisse signing with the company again a new
face has been added to the list. These are two very exciting and very much
experienced women who can take the women’s division and raise the standard of
women’s wrestling once again. Colliding
for the women’s championship in the future will make for a must-see contest and
I’m confident Shari will bring out the best in this former Impact Wrestling
star.
Charlotte Flair
Charlotte Flair is by far one of the biggest stars in the
WWE today working as a consistent standout and taking part in several fantastic
matches a year! The former women’s champion may not be a huge fan favourite but
after the hard work she has put in the achievements she has met already in her
career makes her the big time star she is today and there really are so many
women Charlotte Flair could work an epic match up with. We have already seen
Flair compete in so many different kinds of bouts with an array of different
types of superstars however, Ivelisse standouts as something different, a
completely new challenge for this eight-time champion. While Flair dominates in
height the experience and versatility to Ivelisse’s move set gives a unique advantage.
Both women are comfortable on the top rope, known or taking risks in the ring
and have an exciting and diverse move set. Flair really does have all the capabilities
to bring out the best Ivelisse while Ivelisse has all the attributes to bring
out a new side of Charlotte Flair and turn some heads in the process.
Becky Lynch
Throughout her career in the WWE Becky Lynch has had some fantastic
showing especially over the last year. When news broke that Ivelisse had signed
with the WWE once again one of the first names to come to mind was Becky Lynch,
a woman who most certainly must collide with this returning star in the future.
Both these women are comfortable in applying submission holds and adapting
their style but out every superstar I have mentioned today it’s Lynch I believe
shares the most similar of Styles to Ivelisse. It must also be noted that I
believe this could be Lynch’s best pure wrestling match since her NXT Takeover
collision with Sasha Banks several back.
Bianca Belair
And the final name I wanted to include in today’s blog post
is Bianca Belair. Still rather fresh into her wrestling Belair has become a
standout over the last twelve months or so have working consistent strong
matches and stealing the spotlight wherever she goes. Her character has been
nailed to perfection and the mix of fast-paced in-ring work, strength and athleticism
have seen her compared to the likes of Charlotte Flair already! Throughout the
career of Ivelisse, we have seen her compete against an array of different stars
and a talent like Belair is one in which Ivelisse works amazingly well with.
This contest is sure the dark horse of today’s blog post but could change the
careers and the future for both these women massively!
And those are just some of the names I would love to see
Ivelisse collide with upon her return to the WWE. As a long time fan of her
work I am delighted to see Ivelisse back in the WWE and with the women’s
division looking strikingly different from the last time she was apart of the
roster the future looks incredibly bright and exciting for her!
