MITB Ladder Matches 2019 - Predictions

This coming Sunday we will witness the two thousand and nineteen edition of the Money in the Bank PPV, a personal favourite of mine. This year’s ladder matches both for the men and the women’s divisions both standout as ones to watch considering there are a few standout names who could very well walk away either Mr or Miss Money in the Bank twenty nineteen. In today’s blog post we are going to be looking each the odds of each competitor and discussing their chances of taking the win and what we can expect from them.

Dana Brooke - The Surprise Winner

In all honesty, I am not surprised to see Dane Brooke added to this year’s women’s Money in the Bank ladder match. After her promo cut on Ronda Rousey a couple of months back and frequent appearances on Main Event Dana has quite frankly earned her place in this match but could she really walk away with the win? When we keep in mind the positive reactions she has been getting from fans, the passion we have seen from her, the momentum she has gained and the fact she is even in this match we must consider her a potential winner. While her win could result in a failed cash in and/or it's evident there are several other women who need and deserve the win more this wouldn’t be the first time the WWE picked the dark horse of the match to take the win, with Damon Sandow a prime example.

Randy Orton and Natalya - The Needed Veterans

Both Randy Orton and Natalya are no stranger to the MITB ladder match with Orton highlighted as an all-time great performer in this exact contest. While I believe Nattie wasn’t technically needed in this match this time around and another woman should and could have had her spot she gives the veteran feel this match needs and gives her the spotlight she really needs after a few quiet weeks. As for Orton, I do genuinely believe he stands a chance of taking the victory in the men’s MITB ladder match this weekend. It’s been a while since he took the win in this stipulation contest and it has also been quite some time since the veteran found himself in the WWE Championship picture. A win this weekend gives him a key to the WWE title scene not to mention cashing in on Kofi sets up a brilliant WWE veteran vs WWE veteran angle.

Past Winners

In both this year’s men and women’s Money in the Bank Ladder match, we have past winners including Carmella, Baron Corbin, Braun Strowman and Alexa Bliss and my prediction is none of these talents will walk away with another win. Alexa is a woman we can expect to truly standout in this year’s contest with her athletic skill sure to present some great spots and collisions with the likes of Bayley and Ember Moon for example. Carmella’s place in this year’s women’s MITB ladder match to me highlights just how much the WWE struggled with the female line up this time around. I highlight doubt she will walk away with the win nor have a standout moment but her history in this match and her previous win does give the former winner an advantage.

Moving over to the men’s and Baron Corbin is very unlikely to take the win simply because there are more deserving and needing winners in this year’s line-up. Corbin is a man the WWE could give the win to to basically piss off fans even more however, it is very unlikely! He is sure to have a few brilliant and standout spots including a collision with former ally Drew McIntyre but a win is very unlikely this time around.

In editing this post two new additions were added to the MITB ladder matches so we must quickly touch on those! First up we have Sami Zayn who will be replacing Braun Strowman in this year's men's lineup! Now, in all honesty, I do believe there is a chance Zayn could walk away with the win here. He's only recently found himself back in action and with Kevin Owens in the WWE Championship scene, there really is a story to be told here. It Must also be noted that he more than anyone truly does deserve and need such a huge main roster win that could change his position in the WWE massively!

As for the women's MITB ladder match, we will also see Nikki Cross replace Alexa Bliss and once again, I do believe the replacement here has a great chance of taking the win! We know Cross is popular with fans and a win like this would be huge for her, however, competing in itself is a big deal and this type of match is sure to greatly benefit Cross regardless of the end result.

The Potential Surprise Winners – Mandy Rose and Andrade

Looking at the women’s line up this year while I’m not a fan of Mandy Rose personally, she most certainly sticks out as a potential winner. She’s a woman we know the WWE are high on, her win will add story and depth to her relationship with Sonya Deville and she is quite clearly a future champion. The MITB briefcase is a perfect fit to Rose’s character and the huge win will give her the push and edge she needs to move up the roster/ladder and become a bigger part of the women’s division.

As for the men’s MITB ladder match, the exact same can be said for Andrade Cien Almas who is one of my personal favourites to take this year’s win. This is a man who really would benefit from such a win not to mention a man who is massively worthy of the win! Again, there have been rumours of Vince McMahon being high on Andrade for a while now and this huge victory will set him up for great things to come in the next few months. Andrade is another name sure to be a big standout in this match and fans can expect Zelina Vega to play some kind of role also.

Keep Yours On – Ricochet

With Ricochet competing in this year’s men’s Money in the Bank ladder match we can expect some very exciting spots! Comfortable up top and flying/jumping off anything in sight we know from Ricochet’s history in ladder/stipulation matches in NXT that he is bound to make a massive impact this weekend. While he is unlikely to take the win this year, I’m confident his athletic skill will be showcased better than it has been so far on the main roster and this performance will get heads turning and the WWE universe buzzing. Ember Moon is the female name we can expect to make the same impact in the women’s MITB ladder match.

The Winners

And finally, for the women’s MITB ladder match there are two names who standout as clear potential winners, Bayley and Ember Moon. Both these women are most certainly in need of the win and its clear the title of Miss Money in the Bank will do them huge favours. Bayley taking the win opens doors for a potential four horsewomen fatal four way down the line and some excellent work against Charlotte Flair while Ember Moon is clearly a huge fan favourite for the win. Her recent move to Smackdown LIVE has allowed a new beginning to kick start and there is no better way for her to make an impact and finally have the run she deserves then winning the MITB ladder match and this is the win we have all been waiting for.

As for the men’s MITB ladder match, the man I will be rooting for is, of course, Drew McIntyre. This is a superstar destined to be champion and it really is only a matter of time. He may be an obvious pick for the win this year but in my opinion, there is no one In either ladder match this more deserving, fitting and need of the victory.

And those are my predictions for the men and women’s MITB ladder matches this year. Of course, I will be live tweeting throughout the whole show on Sunday and you can let me know what your predictions are by leaving a comment below or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.
