Last Week in Wrestling

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and had an awesome weekend as per usual. It has been one busy weekend for me! I've done plenty of planning and pre-posting for the next month to the point where even touching my laptop gives me a headache! However, the snow and the festive season has kept me in good spirits and I'm ready to take on another week! So, as we kick-start another December week it's once again time to take a look back at the past seven days and present you with my latest Last week in Wrestling post. I have to warn you that this post is very much dominated by WWE news, there has been plenty going on over in the WWE and we have quite a few topics to touch on but I will also be taking a look over at Defiant Wrestling. As for the week ahead, I have plenty of-of the year season posts coming up including NXT match of the year, most improved superstar of the year and more! I will also be uploading my RAW and Smackdown LIVE highlights in the middle of the week and I'm going to be trying my best to live tweet throughout RAW, Smackdown LIVE, and NXT this week too. I'm also going to pre-posting and taking notes for posts in January but that's something I'm going to get into more detail with next week. For now, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including any recent blog posts from of the year season! And finally, you can have your say and get involved let me know what you thought of all the action in last week in wrestling by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

WWE News

WWE India

This week the WWE took over India in a huge tour that had fans talking throughout the weekend. The events that took place during this tour saw stars including Sasha Banks, the Singh Brothers, Jinder Mahal, and Roman Reigns take center stage and get involved. The tour also saw Triple H in action taking on both Roman Reigns and Jinder Mahal both of which proved to be a huge success with the live Audience in attendance.  This was one of the biggest tours of the year for the WWE and looked to have gone down as a big hit. With coverage all across social media including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram and YouTube fans from around the world have been able to stay updated on everything going on.

Female MMA Stars Make their Way to the WWE

This week news broke of both Ronda Rousey and Shayna Baszler making their way to the WWE. It was announced days after the Mae Young Classic that finals competitor Shayna Baszler had signed a contract with the WWE heading over to NXT with the former MMA star taking part in several NXT live events since. During last weeks episode of NXT, a video hinted that Baszler would be arriving on the scene very soon making her NXT TV debut possibly before the new year or at the very start of twenty eighteen. This, of course, is something I'm  super excited about! Anyone that knows me knows that I am a huge Baszler fan I cannot wait to see her WWE career really kick start. I will be talking about this in more detail as the weeks progress.
This week also saw more news released in regards to Ronda Rousey and her future WWE career. For years now, Ronda has made several appearances for the company including a spot at Wrestlemania and there have been rumors surrounding a possible run with the WWE for quite some time. More recently there has been a big focus on this with Rousey looking to be edging ever closer to transition into the world of pro wrestling. It's rumored that things will be finalized by Wrestlemania thirty-four which of course will take place in April.

Woken Matt Hardy has Arrived

The past couple of weeks has seen me talk a great deal about broken Matt and the WWE finally introducing the character to TV. It was revealed this week that Hardy is now... Woken and his feud with Bray Wyatt has finally kick-started. So slight changes have been made and getting used to Woken instead of Broken is going to take some time but none the less this is exactly what fans have wanted from the moment Hardy returned to the WWE back at Wrestlemania and it is very satisfying The feud between Matt and Bray is something that I personally have wanted to see for the past few years now and so, of course, I'm very excited to see where things go and what the WWE has install for us and them in the coming months. Of course, this will be another topic I stay focused on over the next two to three weeks or so with some content going up surrounding Woken Matt and the feud with Bray Wyatt!

New Direction for Nia Jax?

And to close this section of the post we have a topic I'm not happy about at all and that is the possible new direction for Nia Jax. The most promising, dominant and improved female superstar on the roster today looks to be heading into a new story with... current Cruiserweight Champion Enzo Amore. Okay, so I see the potential, I can understand where exactly the WWE's mind is with this but really? When I was catching up on RAW this week it was this little backstage segment that made me want to hide under the covers and pretend my eyes didn't just see what they saw and my ears didn't just hear what they did. Nia isn't someone that really needs this in their career right now but more the next best thing for Enzo. I and I'm sure everyone else would much have prefered to have seen Nia continue doing what she is doing, build momentum and head towards a title opportunity sometime within the next year if not a move to Smackdown LIVE but this, this just gives me the impression the WWE have lost some faith and this is the beginning of the end for Jax. It is something to keep your eyes on but... do I have to?

Outside the WWE

Rich Swann

This weekend the biggest piece of shock news to come from the world of pro wrestling was, of course, the arrest of Rich Swann. Now, this isn't a story I really want to go into detail with right now because nothing has really been made official and it's still a growing story. From a lot of sources, it does appear as though Swann was arrested on Sunday and this is something that will be developed in the coming few days and something I'm sure we will all be discussing on social media.

The Debut of Defiant Wrestling

This past Monday Defiant Wrestling debuted LIVE on pay per view and looked to be a pretty decent success. I didn't get to catch the show live but I've managed to catch up this week and I at least can say I enjoyed the show. Three hours in total, this was a night full of epic wrestling, strong storytelling and signs of a bright and optimistic future for the company once known as WCPW. It still has a big following, the matches are still delivering and the storylines that were shown on the night had be hooked and invested completely. The shock kick-started with Stu Bennett introducing the new Defiant Wrestling Heavyweight championship and would leade tot he reveal of latest signed star, Austin Aries, the night also saw amazing matches, new stars and new champions. My review of this show will be up soon!
