Top 10 WWE Superstars of the Year 2017 Part 2

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had an awesome week so far! So, we almost finished with of the year season here on my blog with just a few more posts to go! I have to say that I have so much fun while it has been crazy busy and time-consuming I have loved taking a look back at the past year in wrestling and listing some of the best moments, matches, and superstars of the year in the world of World Wrestling Entertainment. Approaching the end of the series means that it is time to take a look at the best categories, Male Superstar and match of the year. I have already uploaded part one of my top ten WWE matches of the year and that will, of course, be liked bellow, today, however, we are focusing on individual superstars as I count down the first five superstars in my top ten WWE superstars of the year, this post will only include superstars from RAW and Smackdown LIVE but my NXT version of this post will be linked bellow. Throughout the rest of the week I will be uploading parts one and two of these posts and then that's pretty much it for twenty seventeen, I will be taking a little break for Christmas and having some time out but January first I will be back to normal with new content and ready to start the new year! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including all my of the year season posts! Finally, you can get involved and tell me who your WWE Superstar of the year is by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

Pete Dunne

And kick-starting the top five off we have current UK Champion, Pete Dunne. I mentioned in my top Five NXT Stars of the year that Dunne would be featuring in this list and lets be honest he just had to. While he's only made one appearance for RAW it's one more than any other of the stars of the UK division. Arriving on the WWE scene back in January Dunne was one of the standout stars of the UK Tournament with his finals match against Tyler Bate going down as one of the best of the year. He may not have taken home the victory and made history on that night but he made the biggest impact of everyone on the night. Still under twenty five years old, Pete left this tournament a big star and a name everyone was talking about and he now works as one of the most over stars on the rosoter. Competing on several different episodes of NXT Dunne has worked fantastic matches against Mark Andres, Tyler Bate, and Johnny Gargano to name just a few. His battle with Bate NXT Takeover was highlighted as match of the year by many and one we all contiue to talk about and re-watch. His apperance on RAW last month was yet another highlight defeating the cruiserweight champion, Enzo Amore. Dunne is so fresh into his WWE career but this year has shown just how bright the future is for him and I'm more excited about watching the career of the brusierweight develope more than any other star today!

The Miz

I'm pretty sure I may just be the biggest Miz fan. Since the brand extension last Summer the Miz has been on fire and throughout twenty seventeen he has remained at the top. Okay, so no WWE or Universal championship run has come his way but he has changed the entire feel of the IC title. It still feels as though that championship belongs to him with Miz becoming one of the longest reigning champs in history there is also no denying that he may just be one of the best if not the best champion of all time. He carries himself so well and it's so evident how important he makes that title feel and important it is to him. His feud with Cena around Wrestlemania season was strong and while he didn't get the win on the grandest stage the build-up was all done so well because of him. He was the reason I had an interest in this match. I did worry when he moved over to Monday night RAW, concerned the track he was on would disappear and he would fade back into the background but the complete opposite happened, he continued to flourish and rose to top of his game having the best run of his career. His Miz TV segments were brilliant, he competed in several solid matches both on pay per view and episodes of RAW and Smackdown LIVE, introduced the Miztoruage and took part in some of the best mic work and feuds of his career! I cannot wait to see Miz return to action once his done filming and watch what the WWE has planned for him heading into Wrestlemania next year!

Roman Reigns

Love him or hate him there isn't a single person that can deny the sheer fact that Roman Reigns has yet another epic year. Not slowing down in the slightest Reigns has worked even more fantastic matches proving that while his character work is flawed his in-ring work is brilliant. Matches against a number of different opponents including the Undertaker, Braun Strowman, Samoa Joe, Jason Jordan, John Cena and much more have proven to fans once again that the big dog is one heck of an in-ring talent. This year saw even more huge milestones for Reigns where he became a grand slam champion after defeating the Miz to become the new and current Intercontinental champion. Twenty seventeen also saw Reigns compete against legendary opponents such as John Cena and the Undertaker that will go down as huge moments in his career. After defeating the dead man at Wrestlemania it looked as though Roman had retired the legend and the little promo he cut the following night gave him all the heat and edge you could imagine. His feud with Cena was exactly what was needed and again went down a treat. If you include reuniting with the Shield it has been an epic year for Roman and while you all may not be his biggest fan there is no denying those simple yet clear facts.

AJ Styles

Up next and just about missing out on the top spot is AJ Styles. Last years WWE Superstar of the year has continued to work as one of if not the face of the WWE. The main attraction, whenever Styles is name is mentioned everyone pays attention and the interest increases massively wherever he is. The main star of Smackdown LIVE, it's Styles that continues to raise the bar and deliver in all aspects. He had the match of the night back at Wrestlemania kick-starting things off against Shane McMahon and while he was working a heel role fans remained completely behind him and invested in everything he did meaning that it wasn't long after Styles turned face and started a new run on the roster. He would spend the year competing in top matches against the likes of Chad Gable, Baron Corbin, John Cena, Kevin Owens and more. He became the United States Champion, competed inside Elimination Chamber and has a number of matches to his name considered to be some of the best of the year. The current WWE Champion shows no signs of slowing down and the next year looks to be yet another big one for the phenomenal one.

Braun Strowman

And finally, in at number one and my two thousand and seventeen WWE Superstar of the year is, Braun Strowman. I really didn't find it difficult this year to decide on who was going to be my superstar of the year. From January all the way through to December that has been one man standing out more than any other and that, of course, is the monster among men. Now, I'm sure for many, AJ Styles would have taken the top spot and he was a very close runner-up but he was my superstar of the year last year and I really do try to change things up. For me personally, however, it has been Braun I have enjoyed watching the most. Since the brand extension in the summer of twenty sixteen, the WWE has been focusing on Braun building him to become the next big monster of the WWE and that is exactly what we saw happen this year. His feud with Roman Reigns was a standout of two thousand and seventeen with brutal, barbaric and intense matches taking place Strowman was revealed as a true monster and seeing him come back tougher and more dangerous every week had him over with the fans in no time. His performance in the ring grew better also. The more we saw him wrestle the more we noticed just how capable he is of actually delivering a damn good match. He was able to work fantastic bouts against the likes of Roman Reigns and the Big Show and has been the focal point throughout the year. He was the standout of the night at SummerSlam, was given a title opportunity where while he didn't get the win he dominated Brock Lesnar and has been one of the biggest success stories of the year. There's no on Strowman's level right now I'm really really excited to see what two thousand and eighteen holds for the monster among men.

And there we have it! Braun  Strowman is my two thousand and seventeen WWE Superstar of the year! And that sums up twenty seventeen here with my last blog post. It has been an amazing year when it comes to my blog and I've really enjoyed trying new things out, bringing new content and working hard. I plan on working even harder in the new year with brand new posts coming, plans on writing more posts on promotions outside the WWE and kick starting my podcast! I want to say thank you to everyone that has supported me and helped me along the way, it's been a tough year for me in my personal life and you guys have given me so much support and I'm so grateful, thank you so much! x
