10 Matches the 2018 WWE Superstar Shake Up Has Left Us Wanting (part 1)

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had a great week so far! Okay so have reached the near end of yet another week but we still have plenty to talk about and in today's blog post we once again focus our attention on the two thousand and eighteen WWE Superstar shake-up. Taking place only last week, we saw several superstars switch brands all in the spirit of a brand new era and while we had a mix of good and not so good moves and decisions what we most certainly were given was a potential for some amazing brand new never seen before matches to take place. Over the next week, I'm going to be diving into some of those matches listing ten Matches the two thousand and eighteen WWE Superstar Shake up has left us wanting. This will, of course, be a two-part piece with part two going up this time next week so keep an eye out for that! Now, before we get going with today's post I want to mention that I will be writing some content on the Greatest Royal Rumble event taking place tomorrow, however, I will not be live tweeting! I will, however, be back live tweeting next Monday for RAW! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked below including last weeks separate RAW and Smackdown LIVE highlights! Finally, you can get involved and tell me what matches the superstar shake-up has left you wanting by leaving a comment below or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

Samoa Joe vs AJ Styles

One of the biggest moves Smackdown LIVE got during last weeks superstar shakeup was the addition of Samoa Joe. A decision that will most certainly benefit not only Smackdown LIVE but Samoa Joe this is a perfect fit. Joe is someone that would have got lost and forgotten about over on RAW while the blue brand has opened brand new opportunities and gives him a far greater chance of finding major championship success. There really are so many fantastic bouts and storylines the WWE can throw Joe in here however if there is one opponent we all want to see Joe face off against the current WWE Champion,  AJ Styles. Whether it be for the title or not this is a contest that can guarantee a damn good outcome. It screams potential match of the year candidate and with the two having history from work outside their WWE not only are they sure to have solid chemistry but this is a dream match for so many fans. The pair could easily main event a major pay per view and down the line competing for the title only makes things, even more, must see!

Andrade Cien Almas vs AJ Styles

My personal favourite NXT call up we have seen this month comes from former NXT Champion, Andrade Cien Almas. This is a man that really is leading the way for the new era in the WWE. While he didn't have a great start Almas has become a main attraction with fans knowing they are in for a treat whenever he steps in the ring. Moving to Smackdown LIVE along with Zelina Vega makes for a brilliant decision and again there are so many potential matches I would love to see Almas compete in with a number of Smackdown LIVE stars, however, once again it's AJ Styles who tops that list. It may be a touch unlikely that Almas will find himself as WWE Champion any time soon or at least within the next year, however, it doesn't stop him from getting close enough and if Styles to either remain champion for a far great length of time or if he is to ever become champion again after he drops the title a feud between these two names for the gold is something I know I can fully invest in. The promo work from Zelina Vega along with the sheer in-ring excellence we will see between the two male stars makes for something very very special. A contest to even determine a future number one contender with some story behind it also sounds like a damn big must see!

Natalya vs Ronda Rousey

I've mentioned already this week that I personally wasn't a big fan of any of the moves we saw from the women's division during the superstar shakeup, however, what I did really love was Natalya's switch to Monday night RAW. It's simple, there are far more opportunities waiting for her on Monday nights. The WWE has already thrown Nattie into the perfect position and things are looking up. Working alongside Ronda Rousey is brilliant. The two have very great chemistry and their real-life friendship makes for a great new chapter in Rousey's WWE career. What she needs is a personal feud/story and the chance to really show what she can do in the ring against a proper veteran and Natalya makes for the perfect fit. Nattie's experience and sheer in-ring skill makes her a damn good challenge for Rousey and while we may be a month or two away from seeing Nattie run on Ronda it does feel as though its only a matter of time and when these two go one on one something tells me it's going to be pretty special. All the WWE need to do is give these women the time and I'm confident this could a match that impresses us all on a level we didn't expect.

Baron Corbin vs Roman Reigns

Okay, hear me out and let me explain. There have recently been reports that the WWE is very high on Baron Corbin and a big push could be coming up for the lone wolf and with that in mind it's time to think about how the WWE can make fans forget all about the dreadful Money in the Bank situation and allow us all to believe Corbin really is someone to take seriously and can go on and become a major star on Monday night RAW. This, of course, won't be easy, Monday nights now consist of the likes of Finn Balor, Bobby Lashley, Bobby Roode, and Drew McIntyre all of which appear to make far greater convincing men to take the top spot. However, if the WWE can book him right Corbin can climb the ladder (uh oh... not again) and achieve great things. Pitting him against the big dog is a move that should be considered. Corbin telling Reigns he is everything the WWE tried to make Roman is perfect. Let Baron lose on the mic, let him push the boundaries a little, show he doesn't care and he has no filter because that is what will get him over. If Reigns is to talk out of the Greatest Royal Rumble as the new Universal Champion then its an early big push for Corbin however, if Reigns loses this is something Baron can use against him and kick start something new and fresh for both superstars.

AJ Styles vs Jeff Hardy

And the final match I'm going to be talking about in part one of this post is yet another AJ Styles match but... come on, I had to talk about it; AJ Styles vs Jeff Hardy. Honestly, Jeff was someone I grew up obsessed with. He entertained me, captivated me, and inspired me and as I grew up a little AJ Styles also became a man that did the exact same. I fell in love with both their styles and over the years both have competed in so many matches I have grown to love also. Watching the two square off inside a WWE ring is a dream. You don't necessarily need a big-time storyline to go with it because it's simple, you put AJ Styles VS Jeff Hardy in lights and people are going to buy and invest in it. Again, whether it be for the title or not this is a must-see contest. Sure a WWE Championship match between the two will make for one damn epic pay per view main event but the moment this match is announced I know I for sure will be tuning in. Not to mention this is a brilliant way of pushing Jeff to that main event spot as WWE Champion like he should be!

And there we have it! That is part one! Part two of this post will be uploaded next week!
