WWE Opponents for Ronda Rousey

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had a brilliant start to the week so far! Of course, one of the biggest talking points of twenty eighteen so far has been the WWE signing of Ronda Rousey. As one of the biggest signings in the companies history everyone has been talking about the former MMA star and what the future looks like for her as a WWE Superstar. Still very fresh on the scene, Ronda has only competed in one WWE match so far, just a couple of weeks back at Wrestlemania thirty-four but talks of who her next opponent will be and future rivalries and storylines are big amongst the wrestling community and so I thought I would focus on this today taking a look at five opponents I would like to see Rousey face in the WWE. This list will include past and present female superstars from both the RAW and Smackdown LIVE roster so bear that in mind! I am planning on writing more posts like this for future stars who sign with the WWE and versions including Richocet and Candice LeRae are in the works for the coming weeks also! For now, however, any recent blog posts will be linked below including my Wrestlemania Reviews! And lastly, you can get involved and tell me who you would like to see Rousey face in the WWE by leaving a comment below or by dropping a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria! Let's jump into the post!

This Post was pre posted and so some points may be a little dated!

Asuka
While her undefeated streak may be broken, Asuka remains a top contender for the newly signed Ronda Rousey. Regardless of what happened just a couple of weeks back at Wrestlemania the Empress of tomorrow is still one of the most dominant, impressive women in WWE history and a collision between her and Rousey is money. While we may not get as big of a storyline between these two as we would during a feud between Ronda and the likes of Charlotte Flair the match expectations here are high. After seeing what Rousey can do in the ring there are indications that a damn good match between these two women could take place and not only that but with the right build, this could go down a history-making feud/match and main event a major pay per view.

Nia Jax

Nia Jax was one of the most vocal women following Rousey's WWE debut. Expressing her feelings towards the timing of Ronda's arrival in the WWE. This is something that in the future the WWE can touch on briefly. Nia moving on to talking about her disliking towards Rousey and her signing with the company is a decent element of their story but the main focal point is of course power. Jax is the biggest powerhouse in the women's division right now and has been for a few years now. Rousey however, has come along as this new dominant force in the WWE and again it's a great starting point for their rivalry. This would be one of the more basic storylines but it can so easily work. The matches between the pair may not be as strong as some of the others that will be mentioned in this post but we could get some great spots and a solid story. Now that Jax has found herself in posession of the RAW Women's championship it appears as though a feud between the two for the title may not be too far away and could very easily be booked for the SummerSlam card.

Sonya Deville

I know there is going to be so many people reading this and thinking I'm insane for putting Sonya Deville in this list but believe me when I say there is something here. Deville has an MMA background and it's something that since her arrival in the WWE the company has focused on and main a focus point in her character and to be fair she has been owning it. I wasn't the biggest fan of Sonya at the start of her WWE career but the more I watch her the bigger fan I become and if you want to put more attention on her and her character then this is the way to go. What's so great about this is while it may not be the match fans are begging to see it's the one that has the most interesting story behind it and the direction the WWE is likely to go in next. Absolution has so much potential and even though Paige can't compete these girls are still killing their role and I have found myself more interested in their story and Mandy and Sonya as time has progressed. I'm hoping to see more of these two and see Absolution booked better after Wrestlemania and setting their sights on Rousey may just be the best move for them. Just like they stalked Asuka, building on a story similar with Rousey is something I know I can invest in. Paige being the speaker could easily throw Sonya into the mix and a story there is something that could really pay off for every woman involved and if I'm being honest, this is actually the rivalry I want to see most in this list right now.

A WWE legend

Okay okay okay, so this is extremely vague but hear me out again! There are so many names I would love to see Rousey both currently on the roster and past stars but what is so important in building Rousey is showing her to be ruthless badass the WWE is so interested in pushing her as. Having Ronda take out a legendary superstar will simply another big step in pushing her to the top. I didn't include just one name here because this is something I want to keep open. The women's Royal Rumble saw several women make a return the ring and the likes of Beth Phonix, Jacqueline, and Trish would make for a good story rival in terms of pushing Rousey as a ruthless badass. Of course, we can still look at talent currently on the roster. The likes of Mickie James and Nataly are for sure future Hall of Famers and true veterans in the division and that's a good enough starting point for building a story. Personally, I would prefer to see Rousey vs Natalya simply because of the background Nattie can bring to this storyline and rivalry not to mention the decent wrestling that could take place here.

Charlotte Flair
As it currently stands, the rumor for next years WWE Wrestlemania main event will see Ronda Rousey go one on one with Charlotte Flair. This will, of course, be the first time women have main event Wrestlemania making this huge huge deal. Prior to Wrestlemania thirty, four many believed it would be Rousey vs Asuka booked for this historic match however, after the Empress of Tomorrow had her undefeated streak beat at the grandest stage of them all just a week ago by Charlotte Flair herself it's evident that if women are to make history again next year and main event Wrestlemania it's Flair vs Rousey sure to do so. In all honesty, I'm pretty excited at the prospect of this match. Last Sunday Rousey showed that she is in actual fact pretty damn decent in the ring. Her debut match saw an impressive performance from the former MMA star and has got many excited in regards to her future matches with the company. The right build to this match could make for an all time great and a contest that changes women's wrestling forever.

And that is my list! I had so much fun writing this post today! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked below including my Wrestlemania Reviews!
