Six Women We Want To See at Evolution But Wont

Throughout the past week, I have spent a great deal of time discussing the historic first ever WWE All women’s pay per view, Evolution. While the show isn’t set to air until October everyone has been discussing this event with so much to talk about and so many different opinions. So far, here on my blog, we have looked at some of the matches we would like to see on the card as well as diving into some of the controversy surrounding the event. In today’s blog post we continue to look into this PPV however, this time focusing our attention on the names we would love to see take part in this historic show but are very likely not to.

Gail Kim

Gail Kim’s WWE reign is one that really does bother me looking back. Its’ evident from her work outside the company that she is an all-time great and a huge part in elevating women’s wrestling to the next level across the wrestling scene away from the WWE. Competing against some of the biggest and best names in the industry Kim has been a part of so many must-see matches and moments throughout her career and it's such a shame she was never pushed to the top in the WWE the way other promotions have done. Looking at what she could have done is just crazy and it's even more frustrating seeing what the roster currently looks like and the potential matches we could see between her and the likes of Sasha Banks and Charlotte for example. Gail has been a name to pop up over the past week regarding Evolution but it’s evident she will not be taking part despite how much of a brilliant addition she would have been. It’s so unfortunate the WWE haven’t tried harder to get her back in the company in recent years and this is another night where she could have made a huge name for herself inside a WWE ring.

Emma

I’ve written quite a bit of content on former WWE superstar Emma since her departure from the company. Working under her real name, Tenille Dashwood as of right now, she has been killing it across the indie scene standing out over in Women of Honour as well as putting on fantastic matches against the likes of Toni Storm and Angelina Love. Despite the impact, she has been making since leaving the WWE its extremely unlikely she will make an appearance in October. Now, I don’t doubt that at some point down the line Tenille will find herself back in the WWE and apart of the women’s division but its just too soon and while she would have been another excellent addition to this historic PPV especially considering she was such a major part of the women’s Evolution, it just isn’t going to happen.

Sable

It's been some time since fans last saw Sable inside a WWE/WWF ring but the news of the Evolution pay per view has seen her name pop up once again across social media. The wrestling community has continued to talk about her role within the history of women's wrestling in the company and it's evident she played one damn memorable part. A place on the Evolution pay per view whether it be a simple feature or more is sure to boost the must-see feel to this historic event but out of everyone on this list today its Sable I least believe would, in fact, make an appearance.

Victoria

Again, growing up in the time that I did watching wrestling, Victoria was a superstar I was totally obsessed with and not because of the name. She stood out for being so different to the rest. Her image, her in-ring style, her dominant and athletic yet still sexy was something I totally looked up to an even now she remains someone I am totally obsessed with and admire. Throughout the women’s evolution, I have been very surprised to see her barely mentioned at all. Such a fantastic and consistent in-ring performer its such a shame to see her so massively underrated. With that in mind, I do believe it’s very unlikely she will make an appearance despite her popularity amongst hardcore fans and what she contributed to women’s wrestling.

Kharma

Another name I have seen pop up a few times since the announcement of Evolution is Kharma. It’s been quite some time since we last saw her compete inside a WWE ring and in all honesty, I have at times been surprised that the WWE hasn’t got her back. There is no denying she is an element to the women’s division that could really play a major part and change things up. Now, since the Evolution announcement I have seen the predictable comments from fans wanting to see her clash with Nia Jax but with so many predicting Beth Phoenix to take on the irresistible force after it being teased previously the chances of Kahrama returning have decreased even more.

AJ Lee

And of course, there are no women I want to see make an appearance in October more than AJ Lee. The one name I haven’t been able to escape since the announcement of the Evolution pay per view, Lee is by far the woman the majority of fans want to see more than any other. A key figure in the women’s evolution movement she really was the driving force behind the dramatic change in women’s wrestling. She represented something completely different and was the first to defend the division and demand more. It’s a huge shame she left so early into her career especially considering the look of the roster todays and the types of matches we could seen her take part in. Lee’s return would go down as one of the biggest surprises and moments of the wrestling year and would sure shake things up massively but considering her relationship with the WWE and of course her husbands it seems extremely unlikely AJ would ever step foot inside a WWE ring again.

And that is my list! Who else would you have added and who do you want to see take part in the Evolution pay per view this fall? Leave a comment below or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria 😊.
