10 Matches We Want to see at the Evolution PPV (Part2)

During last weeks episode of Monday night RAW, it was announced that the first ever all women’s pay per view will take place on the twenty-eighth of October. Intitled “Evolution” the show promises talent from the past, the present and the future to showcase their talent with fifty women set to be a part of the very special night as well as RAW, Smackdown LIVE, and NXT championship matches and the finals of the Mae Young Classic two to also take part on the night! Last week I also uploaded a list of five matches I wanted to see on the card and today I have another five in part two ready and waiting!

Deonna Purrazzo vs Io Shirai

It was, of course, revealed during last weeks episode of RAW that the finals of the Mae Young Classic will be apart of the Evolution pay per view in October which of course has shined an even brighter light on the second annual event that is the Mae Young Classic. Several names have so far been revealed however two names, in particular, have stood out massively over the past week or so; huge Japanese signing Io Shirai and one of the most talked about women on the indie scene and new WWE NXT superstar in Deonna Purrazzo. The two have been dubbed as early favourites and while more names are yet to be announced it’s evident that Purrazzo and Shirai could so easily deliver one heck of match sure to rival any WWE match of the year candidate so far. Their talent and skill would work so well together and a match between them on the card to take this PPV to the heights the WWE are sure hoping it does so.

Charlotte Flair vs Beth Phoenix

Of course, so many would love to see Charlotte Flair vs Ronda Rousey take place at the first ever all women’s pay per view. The match is sure to happen at some point and when it does a huge platform will be provided for it, however, personally, I don’t think this is the night for it. Wrestlemania does feel like a far more fitting time for that match but what do we do with Charlotte Flair in the meantime? Well its simple, the WWE most focus on building her up even more and showcasing her to bounce back after a difficult few months. Taking on one of the most powerful women in WWE and pro wrestling history in Beth Phoenix would be extremely fitting and considering Beth has done plenty of work for the WWE over the past couple of years including a Rumble appearance it may not be as far fetched as many would believe.

Shayna Baszler vs Candice LeRae vs Bianca Belair vs Kairi Sane

We know that the NXT Women’s Championship will be defended as the Evolution pay per view in October and so many have questioned just how the female talent down in NXT will be shown on the night and I have to say that while many singles matches grab my attention a fatal four way may just be the best option. Baszler is very likely to drop the NXT championship in the coming months and after a dominant run as champion, it would be one of the best picks to have her drop the title in a multi-person match up like a fatal four-way. The champ has, of course, had collisions with the likes of Candice and Kairi Sane and with Bianca Belair making an impact while also crossing paths with these women also she too makes for an excellent name to add to this list. The Evolution pay per view is going to need more than must-see singles bouts; we need to see multi-person matches, stipulation bouts and more and this is a strong pick!

Nikki Cross vs Lita

Okay, so this one may be a tad far fetches but I’m allowed to include one major dream match right? WWE Hall of Famer Lita has been said to be apart of the history-making pay per view in October and so finding a role for her will be interesting. Of course, with a history of commentary work she could be put on the announce table, however, let's be honest, we all want to see her compete in the ring one more singles match would be amazing but who faces her? Well, I’ve got to say that a dream match in my books is Lita vs Nikki Cross and with both women, possibly on the card I would love to see this happen! Cross is a hugely promising rising star who works the crazy character better than anyone else. Putting her in the ring with a character like Lita makes for interesting booking but its evident Cross could work a “crazy stalker” storyline against many legends Lita just happens to be a personal favourite for me!

Battle Royal… With Huge Consequences

In the coming weeks, I will be discussing some of the major things that must or at least what I would like to see happen at the Evolution pay per view and one of the things on that list will be a Battle Royal. I know this is something that we get way too much, and it can be done so wrong but if these women are given a huge reason to compete then why not. For this to work, there must be huge reasons behind why we should watch and why these women should want to win. Whether it be a shot at any championship across any WWE brand, the decision to swap brands, or something even bigger. It was revealed fifty women will be apart of this pay per view and so a meaningful Battle Royal is very likely to be on the card.

And there we go! That Is my list and of course, part one will be linked below so you can check that out if you haven’t already! I do have much more content coming your way regarding the up and coming Evolution pay per view so keep an eye out for that also! 😊
