Four Creative Booking Options for Alexa Bliss in 2019

Alexa Bliss is a four-time women’s champion making history by becoming the first superstar to hold both the Smackdown LIVE and RAW women’s championships. Bliss has also found herself at the forefront of some of the biggest storyline’s in the WWE Women’s division today becoming one of the most over and talked about female talents on the roster. In recent months, however, Bliss has struggled with injuries and less in ring time with her spotlight losing some of its sparkle. However, with the WWE proving they are still very much high on the former champion with Bliss announced as the Wrestlemania thirty-five host the future appears very bright and in today’s blog post we are going to be diving into that bright future of hers by discussing the best booking option for little Miss Bliss moving forward.

Moving Her Back to Smackdown LIVE

Back when the brand split made its return Alexa Bliss was amongst several other NXT stars to make the jump from the black and gold brand to the main roster joining Tuesday nights and becoming a staple in the women’s division. Her push was one that came at a fast-paced and while surprised some she proved to be more than worthy and full of potential. During her time on Smackdown LIVE bliss held gold, took part in a memorable feud against Becky Lynch and welcomed back all-time great Mickie James to the WWE but the goddess has come a long way since her debut year and a return to the blue brand may just be the next best step moving forward. Going back to the place that saw her begin to become the star she is today allows Bliss to really show the WWE universe just how far she has come over the years. It’s on Smackdown LIVE Bliss can find herself back in the spotlight without being overshadowed by the likes of Ronda Rousey and could possibly re-visit past feuds against the likes of Naomi. The blue brand and its women’s division is sure to need a huge star moving over and Alexa Bliss most certainly fits the bill.

Kairi Sane’s First Main Roster Feud

In recent weeks rumours have surfaced that former NXT Women’s champion Kairi Sane is looking to soon join the main roster making the transition from the black and gold brand to either Monday night RAW or Smackdown LIVE with the night after Wrestlemania likely to be the night the former Mae Young Classic winner makes her arrival. Now, there is no denying the potential Kairi posses and I’m sure she will have a great run regardless of what brand she is moved to, however, when it comes to matching Sane with a perfect first rival it's Alexa Bliss’ name who comes to mind. Taking on the much likeable babyface in Kairi Sane allows Bliss to remind fans of just how good of a heel she actually welcoming Sane to the main roster in true Alexa Bliss heel style is. The promo work here could add so much to Kairi’s character and story and when it comes to in-ring work it’s a situation that sees the newcomer thrown into a match fans will tune into but could also see Kairi bring out the best we have seen of Alexa in the ring. There are also plenty of future rivalries for tag teamwork that can be set up during this rivalry involving IO and Mickie James.

An Alliance with Male Superstar

Now, this one isn’t technically my favourite booking decision amongst the ones we will be discussing today but its an option I have explored before and do enjoy the thought of the more I dive into it. We have seen Alexa align herself with multiple superstars throughout her career including Nia Jax, Alicia Fox, Mickie James and during her time in NXT Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake all of which have worked out rather well for Bliss and added more to her character. Looking towards the future and exploring new creative options taking a look at pairing Bliss with a male superstar is most certainly an angle that could work out amazingly well and provide some very entertaining and interesting work. From Braun Strowman in a romantic angle to EC3 or even Dolph Ziggler there are several pairings that on paper just work and while this is something that will divide fans and could go down as something outdated, when done correctly this could be hugely beneficial for everyone involved and again, could provide some great content!

Vs Mickie James

When Alexa Bliss welcomed Mickie James back to the WWE during her heated rivalry with Becky Lynch a couple of years back, I was massively excited! As a long time Mickie James, it was awesome seeing her back on the main roster and the thought of possible collisions with a number of the stars of today was again very exciting but the WWE hasn’t done all that much with a woman easily sure to become a Hall of Famer one day and I want nothing more than to see things turn around for her and the WWE to give James the massive push and creative attention she deserves. Feuding with Alexa Bliss in an angle identical to what we saw between Mickie and Trish years back was for many something totally inevitable but again the WWE has missed out so far. Now, the creative option is still there and with Mickie and Alexa working as a tag team to this day, there is a window of opportunity to really go ahead with this storyline. It’s something that rights itself, sure to grab fan attention and not only bring Alexa Back into the spotlight in terms of in-ring and storyline work but give Mickie James the attention and time she has deserved since her return.

And those are just some of the booking options I wanted to explore today in terms of Alexa Bliss and her future with the WWE. Of course, there are so many other directions the WWE could take things in for Bliss and while injuries and rumours continue to get in the way the WWE is forever showing she is a woman they are massively high on and always have something waiting for.
