Current Developing Storylines in Impact Wrestling You Should Know About

Throughout the past few months I have really started paying attention to Impact Wrestling tuning into the product every week and as a result, I have managed to write a few pieces here and there focused on all thing Impact Wrestling. Recent episodes have left me massively entertained and has once again inspired me to write more content based on the promotion and so in today’s blog post I’m going to be looking at some of the developing stories currently going on in relation to Impact Wrestling and giving you an insight in regards to what you can expect coming up here on my blog in the future.

Rosemary’s Return

Going back to January’s PPV fans saw Rosemary make her much-anticipated return to Impact Wrestling. Targeting Su Yung it became clear there was plenty of unfinished business here and the story between Rosemary and Allie is one the promotion will be going into more in the coming weeks or months. This is the darker side of the Knockouts division and these three women have so much history, so much chemistry and the story here really is a standout for the division. Expect some great matches to come from these three women in the near future.

The History between Rich Swann and Sami Callihan

The growing story between Rich Swann and Sami Callihan has in recent weeks truly grabbed my attention. Anyone who has been following me for long enough will know that I have been the biggest Sami Callihan fan from day one while Rich Swann is a man I could honestly watch wrestle all day long! The personal, intense, and heated rivalry between these stars is one that has become a standout for impact wrestling and one of the best things about this angle is the slow approach the promotion has taken with it. We really have seen the story develop over a series of weeks, the pair have great chemistry and the very personal nature of this story means there are endless direction in which things could go in not to mention we really are going to get some awesome in-ring work from the two the deeper this story goes and the more ring time they get together.

The in-ring Return of Gail Kim

Gail Kim’s in-ring return is something Impact Wrestling has been teasing for a while now with tensions between the Impact Hall of Famer and up and comer Tess Blanchard growing more and more over time. Gail has already worked the role as a special guest referee which created more depth to the story and the chemistry between the two stars. Blanchard is a major talent on the wrestling scene right now and the future of women’s wrestling without a shadow of a doubt, a collision between her and Gail Kim makes for a true dream match and with it being such a heavily demanded and anticipated match from fans there’s no way Impact can miss out on this contest!

Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards

Eli Drake and Eddie Edwards represent two very different types of stars, characters and styles in the world of pro wrestling. Edwards newer direction has seen him adapt to the hardcore wrestling scene while Eli Drake has put great emphasis on being against the Hardcore style and favouring the more traditional world of wrestling. Together they highlight polar opposites in this industry, yet their work together has been fantastic! This is another growing angle that still has so much more to come from it but already you can begin to see things really take shape. We are starting to see Eli Drake become more inclined to use hardcore objects behind the back of Edwards, their work in tag team bouts has shown their differences yet just how well they can also work together. We can expect more great tag team matches to come up showing their complicated relationship, Drake become more familiar with hardcore objects and possibly one very epic hardcore match up in the near future.

Taya’s Knockouts Championship Reign

It was back in January at the first Impact Wrestling PPV of the year that fans saw Taya Valkiri become the new Knockouts champion after defeating Tessa Blanchard. As of writing this, Taya’s reign has only been a little over two months but already we are beginning to realise that she is bringing a lot to the table and there is still plenty more to come! Whether it be her involvement in her husband Johnny Impacts storyline with Brian Cage or the awesome rivalry between her and Blanchard, Taya is a fearless and unique competitor in the knockout’s division. Her recent title defence in a street fight contest against Tessa Blanchard was a real turn around moment for Taya. While she had previously had great performances in the ring it was this bout that truly showed why she is champion and the win over Blanchard was a major deal. Taya has so much more to come and an exciting reign is most certainly on her hands.

And those are just some of the developing stories currently going on in the world of Impact Wrestling.
