Why Roman Reigns Should Move to Smackdown LIVE

With Roman Reigns announcing he is in remission after battling Leukaemia there is great talk revolving around his future with the WWE and what fans can expect in terms of storyline’s and future rivalries and the up and coming superstar shakeup is playing a vital role in those discussions. While there are still plenty of creative opportunities awaiting the big dog on Monday night RAW a fresh start on Smackdown LIVE for Reigns could be the most exciting and interesting move the WWE make in twenty nineteen but what exactly makes the switch brands such a good move for the former world champion?

A New Face in the Smackdown LIVE Main Event Scene

The blue brand has some truly amazing main event talent. From the likes of Daniel Bryan and Kevin Owens to AJ Styles and Randy Orton but there is no denying Tuesday nights needs a new top dog. We had AJ Styles dominate as WWE Champion for the majority of the past couple of years and with such a lengthy title reign fans saw several different superstars chase after the title putting talent such as Samoa Joe in the limelight but moving forward the blue brand needs something fresh. Roman Reigns is a huge main event talent that adds something completely different to the main event scene over on Smackdown LIVE, something we haven’t seen on Smackdown and in its main event picture at all since the return of the brand split. Reigns is a totally different kind of main event star for Smackdown LIVE and his presence could really shake things up!

A Fresh Start

It’s simple, the blue brand offers a completely fresh start for Reigns. Since the brand split returned the big dog hasn’t been apart of Smackdown LIVE and his presence could, of course, do great things for the show itself, but the new beginning is exactly what Reigns is in need of. A place to start fresh, an angle in which forces him to prove he belongs on the real “A” show in the WWE, and a new home where a series of fresh new storyline’s, competition and rivalries await him.

Move Away from The Brock Lesnar Rivalry

While there have been many downs there have also been many ups during the ongoing rivalry between Brock Lesnar and Roman Reigns over recent years but in twenty nineteen, I want nothing more than to see these two as far away from one another as possible! Fans have witnessed these two clashes so many times since Reigns Royal Rumble win years back that watching the pair collide again will be borderline painful! We need to see Reigns move away from this rivalry with Lesnar and start something completely new and while on Monday night RAW his focus will forever be on the Universal Championship a title that will be linked to Lesnar for a lot longer!

Another Reign as WWE Champion

Keeping on the theme of moving away from the Universal Championship we focus on Reigns looking towards becoming WWE champion once again. The move to Smackdown LIVE will enable him to set his sights on the title once again bringing something new to both his character and the WWE championship. Fans know its only a matter of time before Reigns has gold back around his waist and in my opinion, the best direction for him is to move away from the Universal Championship, start fresh and kick start a new reign as WWE Champion again.

A Fresh Batch of new Opponents

As we have touched on throughout this blog post today, we have seen Roman Reigns apart of the RAW roster since the brand split made a return and years down the line and we do need to see something fresh. We have seen Reigns take on the likes of Braun Strowman and Brock Lesnar time and time again and looking at the up and coming superstar shake-up we have to acknowledge that there really is a fresh batch of new opponents awaiting him on Tuesday nights that could provide the big dog with some very new and exciting must-see matches and rivalries. Whether it be taking on a heel Daniel Bryan for the WWE championship, a singles bout against top in-ring stars such as Andrade Cien Almas and Rey Mysterio or collisions with the likes of Kevin Owens and Randy Orton.

Smackdown LIVE Will Benefit from his Presence

In the process of writing this blog post, there have been several different rumours discussing the idea that FOX is keen to have Reigns on Smackdown LIVE upon the show debuting on the network and anyone can see exactly why those rumours would have truth to them. Reigns is a major star, in fact, one of if not the biggest in the WWE today and his return has seen him even more popular and spoken about than ever before and there really is no denying moving him to Smackdown LIVE would massively increase the weekly viewership/rating. He’s the type of talent Tuesday nights are missing and Smackdown LIVE overall will massively benefit from having a young star like Reigns on their roster for this move is something many have wanted to see for a while!

I personally would love to see Roman Reigns make the move from RAW to Smackdown LIVE next month. The fresh start for Reigns would be great but Smackdown LIVE could really do with having Reigns on their roster considering he has so much to bring to the table but what do you think? Let me know down in the comments below if you want to see Reigns move to the blue brand or not!
