Five Reasons Drew McIntyre Should move to Smackdown LIVE

With the superstar shak-up set to kick start later tonight on RAW we have huge week of change ahead of us. I have already touched on some of the names I want to see switch brands over the course of the next few days but after Drew McIntyre’s surprise appearance on last weeks episode of Smackdown LIVE I want to focus on looking at why the blue brand is the perfect home for the Scottish Psychopath.

Greater Chance at Becoming Champion

After Seth Rollins burned down suplex city and dethroned Brock Lesnar to become the new Universal Champion doors of opportunity have opened wide for the stars of Monday night RAW and its clear that getting your hands on the Universal title is a greater likely hood than it has been in months! However, with a stacked roster on Monday nights, there are many superstars likely to still have a long wait behind them before capturing this prestigious championship, time Drew McIntyre cannot afford to waste. Moving over to the blue brand ensured that McIntyre will earn a title shot far sooner then he would if he was to remain on RAW. The former NXT champion has gained great momentum over the months and had an excellent build meaning a dominant run as champion is most certainly needed and deserved and after a collision with Kofi Kingston last week on Smackdown LIVE it appears the blue brand offers a quicker and greater chance at capturing gold.

Running Out of Creative Options on RAW

Last year fans witnessed McIntyre debut for the main roster joining Monday night RAW in the process. Since then he has aligned himself with Dolph Ziggler, collided with the Shield, gone face to face with Roman Reigns at Wrestlemania and stood in one on one action against the likes of Kurt Angle and Seth Rollins. Moving forward, McIntyre needs to show more and after doing so much already on RAW he’s begun to run out of creative directions. He has already collided with some of the biggest and best names on Monday nights and been involved in huge storylines and angles during that time. The move to Smackdown LIVE means a fresh batch of opponents and the chance for the WWE to try something new and allow him to build a new representation and create more momentum.

The McMahon Angle

Tying in with my first point, we have already seen Drew McIntyre collide with the current WWE champion and that WWE champion has had been involved in a huge angle with Vince McMahon over the last few months with McMahon making Kingston’s road to Wrestlemania extremely difficult! Now, Vince has always had an idea of what the WWE championship should look and act like and throughout McIntyre’s career, he has been dubbed as the chosen one. Going back to that angle, the WWE really do have a fantastic opportunity to work on an excellent storyline. With McMahon desperate to remove the WWE championship for Kingston watching Vince push McIntyre to the top by any means necessary and resort back to the chosen one story is something I know I could massively invest in and could go down as a huge story over the coming months.

New Opponents and Challengers

While we have no idea which superstars will be moving where over the next couple of days if we look at the landscape of Smackdown LIVE right now there is no denying that an array of great talents await McIntyre in what will make for must-see match ups. The likes of AJ Styles, Mustafa Ali, Kevin Owens and Aleister Black are amongst those who I would love to see McIntyre come face to face with. The blur brand ensures that Drew takes on fresh new faces and take part in hot new rivalries that give him a spotlight he deserves and matches that will truly prove he is a future champion for sure! As I have already touched on, we have seen McIntyre collide with so many stars on Monday night RAW that’s it’s time for fresh competition and new faces for him to step in the ring with.

Becoming the Face of Smackdown LIVE

While I have no doubt that with the right direction and the right booking Drew McIntyre could become the face of any brand, he is on I believe that it’s the blue brand McIntyre has the greater chance of achieving exactly that. Smackdown LIVE is in need of a new face to come along, take over and stand as the new top dog and McIntyre fits that bill perfectly. It’s here he won’t be overshadowed by talent such as Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns and here he will finally have his moment to stand at the very top of the pyramid.

Drew McIntyre is such a fantastic all-round talent that I’m confident the WWE has great things planned for and so whichever brand he ends up on come the end of this week I know great things await him but you have to admit… the argument is strong for him to make the move to Smackdown LIVE.
