Storylines and Rivalries We Must See on Smackdown LIVE Following the Superstar Shake Up
Following the 2019 superstar shakeup there is now a new batch of dream matches and rivalries fans want to see whether it be the men's, women's or tag team division. The blue brand, in particular, saw the women's division receive several new faces while the likes of Roman Reigns and Finn Balor promise a complete new direction for the main event scene on the blue brand. Keeping that in mind today we are going to be looking at some of the storylines, matches and rivalries we must see on Smackdown live during the coming months following the outcome of the latest superstar shakeup.
during the superstar shakeup, we witnessed former cruiserweight champion Buddy Murphy move up to the main roster and announce he will be heading to Smackdown live the same night we saw Finn Balor make his own move to the blue brand. Now, this is evidently a dream match. Two smaller stars with serious athletic and wrestling skill and ability there is no denying this would make for one epic must-see encounter and I have no doubt the pair will deliver a brilliant one on one contest. This also makes for an excellent rivalry for Murphy who after having such a strong run on 205live more than deserves a great main roster career. Chasing after the IC title is and brilliantly strong way to kick start his main roster run and a great chance for these two superstars to work an excellent show-stealing matchup.
Since her return to the WWE a few years back the company haven't done all too much with Mickie James and as a long time fan, I have been left very disappointed and frustrated especially considering the future hall of fame has so much to bring to the table. Her move back to the blue brand has given the WWE yet another chance to turn things around and get the best out of a true legend. Now, of course, there are several women James could collude with and create wrestling magic alongside however, there is truly no better opponent than the queen, Charlotte Flair. In desperate need of moving away from Becky Lynch, the company need to look at new direction for flair and taking on a superstar like James sets up a story that truly writes itself. Here we get to see James show herself to be the legend we know her to be while bringing out the best and putting over flair.similarly to what we are seeing between Gail Kim and Tessa Blanchard in impact wrestling a great rivalry between then and now can take place which really does have great potential.
While Nikki Cross wasn't involved in last week's superstar shakeup there is still great discussion regarding the former NXT talent and get future. A huge fan favorite cross has several dream rivalries and storylines the WWE can involve her in but today I'm going to be looking at an angle I haven't explored here on my blog yet involving Nikki and real-life husband Killian Dane. We have seen the WWE split the massively popular sanity a decision I'm still frustrated with considering how much the company failed this faction. now, all four superstars shared great chemistry and moving forward the WWE most certainly should remember that. Pairing cross and Dane as a duo opens at the door of opportunity to create a very exciting and unique alliance. deranged and dangerous this is a fearless and unpredictable duo that could completely shake up and the roster and its collisions with you he likes of Daniel Bryan, Roman Reigns and Bray Wyatt that make for something very promising and exciting!
Finn Balors move to smackdown live has really opened up some great doors of opportunity and it's clear there are many storylines and matchups awaiting him on the blue brand but I also believe turning him heel is an angle to consider. This allows him to explore teaming up with Anderson and gallows to for. A major heel faction, colliding with Roman reign in a must-see feud and even feuding with Kofi Kingston for the WWE championship that sees matchups against the New day. This is a completely new direction for Balor but one with so many exciting opportunities.
Following the superstar shakeup there really is no two superstars I want to see collide than former NXT rivals Asuka and ember moon. Fans have wanted to see these two meet in the ring again for months with their previous encounters still in the minds of the WWE universe. Of course, if Asuka was still in possession of the Smackdown women's championship there would have been more to this revisited rivalry but knowing what these two women are capable of delivering in the ring together putting them against one another in a number one contender's bout will sure draw in fans!
during the superstar shakeup, we saw former NXT star Lars Sullivan appear on both raw and smackdown live making an impact and sending a huge message and its clear the WWE has big plans for him! Looking at storylines moving forward as much as I would love to see Kofi Kingston have a lengthy reign as champion I can't deny that Sullivan makes for a great name to consider dethroning the fan favourite champion. This rivalry will give Sullivan the major heat he's in need of and highlight him as a major heel in the WWE today most certainly dangerous and unpredictable.
For weeks there have been rumours of both Karl Anderson and Luke Gallows being unhappy within the WWE and the possibility of them departing from the company in the near future, however, there may be a way to turn things around following Finn Balors move to smackdown live. Teaming these three superstars up and going ahead with pushing them as a major faction has been something fans have wanted to see for years and finally, the WWE have the perfect opportunity to do so. Whether it be turning Finn heel (which I believe is a brilliant move in itself) or simply putting them together as babyface this is a chance for the WWE to finally use Anderson and gallows properly before they possibly lose an excellent tag team.
