Best and Worse Decisions Made During the Superstar Shakeup 2019

Last week fans witnessed the latest instalment of the WWW superstar shake up and as predicted a number of surprises took place over the two-day event and the reaction really was mixed. A week later I'm going to be taking a look back at the outcome of the superstar shakeup and discussing the best and worst decisions made for the superstars involved!

Adding depth to smackdown live women's division

If you have been reading my blog for a while you would have seen me complain about the women's division on the blue brand for a while now! Evidently smaller than the star of the women's division on raw there really was a lack of depth, storyline opportunities and the chance for different rivalries to take place. During last weeks superstar shakeup, however, we really did see some much necessary changes made with the addition of me faces. Kari Sane, ember moon, Liv Morgan, Bailey and Mickey James were among those to make the move to the blue brand all of which create a very exciting future for the Smackdown LIVE women's division and an array of new opportunities await.

Moving Andrade to raw

A decision that does have me worried however is the move of Andrade Cien Almas. While he and  Zelina Vega have great potential wherever they go it's clear Monday night raw is far more focused on huge storylines and big characters and I believe it's Smackdown live where Andrade would have been able to truly showcase his wrestling skill and ability and receive greater opportunities and chances at championships gold. Being apart of the raw roster may see him get lost in the shuffle.

Splitting up the riott Squad

As a young star with so much to show the WWE universe I believe in the long run  Liv Morgan will go on to achieve great things and go a long way benefiting from the superstar shakeup, however, with so much left the trio could have accomplished I do believe a mistake was made here. The WWE never truly used the riott Squad to their full potential and if a push along with a reign as tag team champions was something the company went ahead with then maybe this wouldn't go down as a bad decision. The riott Squad as individuals have great potential but there were missed opportunities and with this trio representing what a team should look like for two years splitting them up months after tag team titles were introduced makes no sense.

Lars Sullivan on both shows

For the past two weeks Lars Sullivan has been making a huge impact on the main roster attacking the likes of R-truth, Rey Mysterio, and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt angle the former NXT star has got everyone talking! During the superstar shakeup, the WWE continued to show they have huge plans for Sullivan after having him appear on both shows! He was the only superstar to do so and after sending such a big message this booking decision has set up great things for Lars and while controversial there are now so many potential storylines and rivalries Sullivan can work and exciting debut year awaits him with the WWE clearly showing they have big things planned for him.

The Viking Experience

If any decision left me "angry" last week it was seeing the changes made involving NXT tag team champions, war raiders. Considering the pair are still in possession of the tag team titles I was not expecting the pair to debut on the main roster any time soon let alone during the superstar shake-up. However, it wasn't the call up that Left me frustrated but instead the changes made to their name. Going from war raiders to the Viking experience has not gone down well at all with fans and the pointless decision has highlighted a common problem in the WWE today.

Balor and Reigns move to Smackdown

Two of the biggest moves we saw last week involved Roman Reigns and Finn Balor making the transition from raw to smackdown live a decision that benefits both in different ways. With new opponents, fresh rivalries and must-see storyline these two huge names are sure to make a massive impact on the blue brand. For Balor, this is a  chance to turn things around and have the main roster career he was always supposed to have while also possessing the potential to turn things around for the likes of Shinsuke Nakamura, Anderson and gallows and Rusev amongst many. For Reigns, he brings a new level of star quality to smackdown live and was arguably the biggest shake-up decision we saw last week.

Cruiserweight call up

I was honestly so glad to see the stars of 205live included in this year's superstar shake-up. Last week saw former champions Cedric Alexander and buddy Murphy called up with Murphy going out to smackdown and Cedric to raw. We have seen just how well the WWE can handle these stars after mystafa alies call up last year. With these two names having such great success on 205live in very excited to see what they bring to the table on the main roster and how the wwe book them in the coming months.

There really were a mix of good and bad moves and decisions made during last week's superstar shakeup many of which we still haven't touched on but over the next week I'm going to be looking at this topic in more detail and discussing the superstar shakeup decisions for individual superstars.
