Five Storyline's The WWE Could Have Planned for Bray Wyatt's New Character

Last week during Monday night RAW fans finally got a glimpse of the new and improved Bray Wyatt after months away from WWE TV. While he didn’t compete in in-ring competition a haunting and very different promo was aired showcasing a completely new Wyatt along with two toy like allies. The completely different direction has left fans with mixed opinions but could this new Bray Wyatt open doors for some very exciting content? In today’s blog post we are going to be looking at five potential storyline’s that could await Wyatt upon his in-ring return.

Puppets of Evil

When I first took a look at the new and improved Bray Wyatt and the very much unexpected direction the WWE were taking his character in, I immediately thought back to last season of Lucha Underground. Throughout his WWE career fans have witnessed a very haunting and sadistic Bray Wyatt and it’s a character that has always stood out and provided some great content whether it be on the mic or in the ring and completely dropping that dark side of him is something I can’t see the WWE going ahead with. So, with that in mind, we must really look at the promo that aired last week and dissects things. Throughout this blog post today we are going to be looking at the puppets we saw in this little segment and if we go back to the Lucha Underground reference fans will remember the storyline we witnessed there involving Ricky Mundo being haunted and almost possessed and controlled by a creepy doll. The WWE has provided the perfect opening for a very similar angle with Wyatt. Controlled by these rather creepy puppets. It's clear these toys will play a key role in the new direction the company are taking Wyatt in and this may just be my favourite idea we will discuss today.

Your Saviour

Throughout his promo, last Monday Wyatt repeatedly referred to just how much he has changed during his time away. He touched on how he used to be a very bad man and how he no longer is that person. With that in mind, it's likely the WWE will focus on exactly that having Bray look to take several other superstars on the same journey. Picking talents that have been on a bad path, are destructive or out of control and attempt to lead them on the same path as him. The roster is so incredibly stacked at the moment that there are few names the company can put forward for this angle including Sami Zayn, Sarah Logan, Bobby Lashley, or even Baron Corbin for example of which would make one epic alliance and dominant team.  This growing new faction has the potential to resemble the Right to Censor with a Wyatt Family twist opening many doors of opportunity.

Puppet Resemblance

During this return promo, I looked through twitter and have continued to do so looking at the reaction and the general opinion of this new Bray Wyatt and upon my little dose of research, I’ve realised that many people have touched on what or in this case who the two puppets represent with many suggesting they are intended to represent Nikki Cross and Eric Young. Now, we have seen these two former teammates stand side by side on WWE TV for a very long time but considering they have always had such great chemistry and the idea of Sanity was always so strong (despite the WWE messing things up there) I would love to see these two share the screen once again and this is a fantastic opening. I’m not personally entirely sure how the WWE would incorporate Cross and Young in this angle, but I have always believed these two superstars would work amazingly well with Wyatt and the WWE have the potential here to really create something very interesting, haunting and entertaining if done correctly. Not to mention Eric Young, in particular, is in serious need of something new and big before the WWE see him depart from the company.

Play with Nikki

Talking of Nikki Cross it's very likely the WWE will have only Cross take part in this angle. As I have touched on before, I would love to see Nikki and Wyatt work together for their characters have so much potential to gel amazingly well and create something very exciting. Fans are forever seeing clips backstage and during her time on the mic of Cross wanting someone to “come play” and this childlike character Wyatt has adopted seeing him in a children’s TV setting and being sounded by toys and puppets really does match and attract the character of Nikki Cross and once again there is great potential for this alliance to become very dark and dangerous.

Double Personalities

And the final angle I wanted to touch on is yet another personal favourite and that focuses on Wyatt adopting a double personality. Again, this is another idea I have seen many fans talk about and express wanting to see the WWE go ahead with and let’s face it, the foundation for this storyline really has been set up. Wyatt’s previous character work compared to what we saw of him on the most recent episode of Monday night RAW could not be any further apart and more different and if we can see Wyatt struggling to remain as the “good guy” then we really will have a very interesting storyline coming up! The two characters are strikingly different and seeing Bray go back and fourth with the new version of himself struggling to remember going back to his old self creates a very big standout angle.

Personally, I’m very excited for the return of Bray Wyatt and I loved what we saw from him this past week on RAW. The WWE didn’t reveal too much what so ever and as we have seen today there really is a number of different angles and storyline’s we could see Wyatt go in and work in the coming weeks. I would, of course, love to know what you guys think and what you’re expecting from Wyatt so feel free to leave a comment below or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria.
