Championships that should make a Return

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and goo! I'm back today with another blog post I have been wanting to write for quite sometime now and after finally finding the time to take down some notes and to write the post I'm excited to get this uploaded. Over the past thew months or so I have talked a lot about brining back certain championships and with the rise of NXT and the effect/impact it has been having over the past couple of years it has just made me even more passionate about this subject. Thanks to the developmental territory we have seen women's wrestling reach an all time high as the female competitors of the WWE have generated more respect from the fans more than we have ever seen. We have also seen a rise in cruiser-weights with smaller talents taking the spotlight and making a huge impact. It's based off these two things in particular that have really made me want to write and upload this blog post today as I bring you a little list of championships that I would love to see make a return in the new year. As usual you can leave a comment bellow letting me know what you think about today's subject or you can leave me a tweet at @TezangiVictoria. I will also be leaving any recent blog post linked bellow at the very end.

Women's Championship
Over the past couple of years we have seen a massive turn around in the way women's wrestling is seen thanks to NXT. The likes of Sasha Banks, Bayley, Charlotte, and Becky Lynch have spent the best of two years creating their own women's revolution, re-defying what it means to be a WWE and making everyone respect women's Wrestling. Together they have generated to much attention to the women's divsion creating memorable matches that made history and gave every WWE superstar a run for their money. It was only last October that we saw Sasha Banks and Bayley put on the first ever women's Ironman match in the first female main event match for a WWE live special. A couple of months before that the pair put on one of the greatest matches of the year and probably the best women's match we have ever seen in the WWE. Even now with three of the four horsewomen up on the main roster  the revolution continues as the likes of Asuka, Emma, Dana Brooke, Nia Jax and more promise the future of the NXT women's divsion to be kept in safe hands. With the massive steps forward the division has made down in NXT thanks to the women there I think we can all agree that its time we saw that translate up on the main roster. It's the little things that will really count and send a message. The fact that the women down in are called women and not divas and the championship is called the NXT Women's championship just shows the little more respect that the female talent are given down in NXT. Stephanie McMahon and the WWE told the world that we were getting a divas revolution back in the Summer and it's safe to say they failed to live up to their promises there once again. We saw women reach an all time high down in NXT but we seem to almost be back to square one again on the main roster. It would have been great if they got rid of the divas championship and brought back the Women's championship the moment Charlotte was crowned champion or even when they declared the start of a divas revolution. But they didn't and it's such a shame. However, it's always better late than never and I think this year with the direction women's wrestling is going in, how far the division has come in the past year, and the expectations fans now have of women's wrestling and the respect they have for it the WWE really do need to consider brining back the Women's championship more than anything else. Women's wrestling is so much more respected and even though they still have a long way to go on the main roster brining back the women's Championship would be the perfect next move to make.

Cruiserweight Championship
Over the past decade or so the Cruiserweight division hasn't been looking all that great and to be honest it hasn't really played much of a role in the WWE pretty becoming none existent. However, thanks to NXT and a clear change in direction when it comes to the future of the WWE, it looks to be making a massive return. Thanks to the likes of Finn Balor, Hideo Itami, Kalisto, Apollo Crews, Tyler Breeze and more the cruiserweight division is looking stronger than ever as these superstars make their mark as some of the best in all of the WWE. It's no longer just about the big dogs and it's great seeing smaller talents being taken just as seriously and getting the push as top main event talents. Over the past year or so we have seen the WWE bring up the Counterweight championship on several occasions on WWE.com. It wasn't all that long ago that we saw them run a survey asking fans if they would like to see the championship make a comeback and if so how they would like to see it used. While there hasn't been much development I still remain optimistic with the rise of cruiserweight talents getting stronger and stronger and the longer that continues the more likely it is we could see the cruiserweight championship make a return. I honestly think there are so many talents on the NXT and the Main roster that would really benefit from seeing this championship return. In my eyes there are two options the WWE have when it comes to brining back this championship. The first is creating a Cruiserweight special show. A weekly show dedicated to highlight the cruiserweight talents. An hour a week. Something small on the network, could really work. Or just simply bring the title back creating a solid cruiserweight division. There are so many superstars that end up on the shelf and not being used as strongly as they should be. Brining back a title like the cruiserweight championship could really change that and allow those superstars to take the spotlight they deserve.

Hardcore Championship
The introduction of the PG era has meant that hardcore wrestling in the WWE has suffered big time to the point where pay per views such as Extreme Rules seem pretty much pointless with almost every "extreme" match actually being the same. For example a chairs match, a street fight match, and a no holds barred match all pretty much the exact same thing. I personally grew up the biggest ECW fan. Was I old enough to actually watch at the start? No, not at all but I absolutely loved it and I still do go back now and enjoy watching old ECW shows, so for me I really hate to see how things have changed to massively over the past ten years or so. Now, I'm not sitting here saying that the WWE should bring back ECW or get rid of PG because lets face it, the PG market is the best marker for the WWE but what I am saying is that they can still work a PG product and still use hardcore talents. There are so any superstars that are natural hardcore competitors from the likes of Kevin Owens,
Luke Harper, Dean Ambrose, Bray Wyatt and so many more who would all benefit from creating a hardcore division. In recent weeks the WWE have proven that they can make hardcore matches work in a PG era. Just take a look at the fantastic Wyatts VS Team Extreme (or whatever name they were going by that night) on RAW a thew weeks back. Absolutely outstanding and really gave me a couple of those ECW feels back. Brining back ECW talents from the past to help boost a new hardcore division would help massively as well. A return of the Hardcore championship could be the turn around and change that the WWE need. Just like I mentioned with the cruiserweight championship, there are so many superstars that go unnoticed and bringing back the hardcore championship could really let those superstars shine not to mention help make a lot of matches relevant and interesting again.

Today, I have touched briefly on a thew championships I would love to see make a return. I will admit I did have to rush this blog post because I was in the car on my way to something but I happy with the three championships I spoke about today. I wasn't completely sure whether or not to include the European championship as well but I wasn't as passionate about that title as much as I was the three that I did speak about.
