Elimination Chamber 2018 Standouts

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had a brilliant weekend and good start to the week! So, as you guys probably all know by now that the past month I have really have been suffering with my health. I've had problems with my back and been seeking help for that throughout the past few weeks. In that time I did take some time away from work, social media, and blogging but I'm looking to get back on track this month and try to upload as much and as frequently as possible! That does include live tweeting throughout shows! In today's blog post we're going to be taking a look back once again at the two thousand and eighteen Elimination Chamber pay per view. Now, I was really late uploading my review for that show but it is now up on my blog and it will be linked bellow. In that post, I mentioned that when it comes to pay per views now they will be split into two to three parts as it allows me to talk about the show more giving my personal opinions on the matches, booking and the stars. Today, we are going to be listing the standout superstars of the Elimination Chamber pay per view. We had two standout matches on the night and a very interesting segment and so there really are a few guys and girls I want to talk about today! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow and you can tell me what you thought of the Elimination Chamber pay per view by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville

Since making their main roster debut late of twenty seventeen former Tough Enough competitors Mandy Rose and Sonya Deville have been proving they deserve a spot on the RAW roster. While we haven't seen all too much of their in-ring work or characters what we have seen from them has been pretty impressive, however, it was at the Elimination Chamber that things really did turn around for them. Okay, so they did 't last long in the match at all but with Rose going out first but again, it was their overall performance that had them standing out. The pair came out looking like a united force. Rose and Deville look amazing together and everything from their ring gear to how they carry themselves is brilliant. Their chemistry is fantastic and they work amazingly well together. Their wrestling is improving and the more we see of them the more we begin to understand their individual characters. In this match, they didn't have Paige by their side what so ever and they shined bright on their own. They entered the chamber with a clear plan and put the spotlight on themselves for quite some time. Mandy and Sonya dominated a small chunk of this match and what they showed was how barbaric and intense they can be on their own. Both women still have a lot to show and a long way to go but this match sure did make me gain some interest in both of them and I'm really excited to see what the future holds for Absolution and Mandy and Sonya as individuals. Not to mention, their performance really did have me wanting women's tag team titles!

Braun Strowman

The standout male star of the night was without a shadow of a doubt, Braun Strowman and of course, it comes as no surprise. The moment he qualified for the match it was evident he was going to be the guy that stole the show and he did just that. Okay, so he didn't take home the victory but he was the man that we once again were all left talking about. He was the dominant force in this match as predicted but just how dominant he was was something I sure didn't see coming. The WWE booked him amazingly well. Taking out literally everyone, Strowman made history eliminating five men from the chamber coming down to the final two alongside Roman Reigns. Now, we've all known Reigns and Lesnar was going to face off at Mania for the Universal Championship and so I obviously was not surprised by the end result, however, Braun yet again proved why he is the man of today. Everyone is obsessed with Strowman and when he keeps delivering on the level he is doing so it makes all the sense. This was simply another night where he stole the show, showed his dominance, and proved why he deserves to be champion.

Alexa Bliss

The Elimination Chamber pay per view was Alexa Bliss' night. Throughout the past two years, she has been the women to beat. At the top of her game, Alexa has shown that you don 't have to come from the four horsewomen to be the woman. Making history time and time again Alexa has proven to be one of the best on the scene today and at the Chamber, she once again proved that point. She had a game plan, she was smart, savvy, and competed like a champion. Relying on her alliance with Mickie James to remain in the match for a longer period of time, the plan worked against her when James was eliminated before Bliss was even let out of her pod. Facing the toughest challenge of her career so far, Alexa was in it alone and had to be smart with every move she made. Deciding to avid Bayley and Banks for as long as possible, Bliss did everything in her power from refusing to leave the pod, to climbing to the top, to moving around the chamber until eventually, her opponents caught up with her. However, she was able to capitalize on Banks turning on Bayley eliminating Bayley from the picture. The onwards, Bliss was competing in one on one action however, this time was able to use the chamber to her advantage. The twisted Bliss from the top of the pod was a highlight spot of the night and a key part in allowing Bliss to retain the title. Okay, so I personally may have been rooting for Banks but Bliss proved herself massively in this match. Her performance was fantastic in this match. Everything from her wrestling, the spots, her character work and the heel promo at the end. Alexa is a champion in every sense of the word and deserves completely to go onto to compete as champion at Wrestlemania.

Seth Rollins

After a rough few months, Seth Rollins is back at the top and the man we are talking about. His performances in the ring week in and week out make him a huge talking point for all the right reasons and honestly I couldn't be happier. I have always been a big Rollins fan but I won't deny the fact that I have struggled to enjoy the majority of his work over the past few months. Since breaking away from the tag team division and heading back to singles action Rollins has been on fire. He once again is reminding us of the brilliant in-ring performer he is and the champion we remember him as prior to his knee injury. At the Elimination Chamber Rollins continued to work the dominant and impressive streak he has been on and while he failed to pick up the victory he did have one of the strongest performances of the entire night. All the hard work he has been putting into his matches recently and the strong booking he has received is leading to something and while it most likely won't be the Universal Championship but the IC title is a great path for him to go down and is definitely something I will be talking about in more detail soon!

Nia Jax

And finally, the last superstar I'm going to be talking about today is the dominant force that is, Nia Jax. Yeah, at this point it's pretty clear I'm obsessed with Nia Jax. I am basically sitting around waiting for the WWE to put a championship on her shoulder. Will it happen anytime soon? I have my doubts but she does continue to be one of the bigger talking points of the women's division and is forever showing the world that she deserves a title shot and run. I mentioned previously that I would have loved to have seen Nia compete in the Chamber match but she remained dominate in her singles bout against Asuka. Now, I wasn't expecting her to get the win so I wasn't surprised to see Asuka take home the victory but how it was booked was very clever and didn't really do any harm to the momentum of Jax. After the match, Nia's reaction was the perfect ending. It gave back her dominance and hinted that she was far from done with the Empress of tomorrow and the Women's championship. She remains a face to watch this year and I'm very excited about seeing her grow and where the WWE go with her heading into Wrestlemania.

And there we go! Those are the five standouts from this year's Elimination Chamber pay per view. I would love to know who you guys would have had in this post so feel free to leave a comment bellow or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria.
