Why Sheamus Should Join The Authority

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well! In today's blog post I'm taking a look at the Authority and a potential new member as I tell you why I think Sheamus should be the next superstar to join one of the most dominate factions in recent years. I will be taking you through what the Authority have been up to over the past year, what Sheamus has been also been up to over the past twelve months and explaining how he's history as a heel and he's past work makes him the perfect candidate for the next Authority member. I will be going into more detail as to what potential storyline's the WWE could have to introduce Sheamus into the faction and what he's role could be. This is a post that I have wanted to do for quite a while now and I'm glad I've managed to find the time to be able to get around to typing it up. As usual the links to any recent posts will be bellow at the end of the post. They include my latest Review and Reactions posts and any recent prediction post, so you can go and catch up on any of those if you haven't read them yet. I am still trying to decide on what I want to dedicate the month of May too so if you  have any ideas or suggestions on what you would like to see do please let me know, if I don't make a final decision then it will simply be pushed back June. Finally, you can also let me know what your opinions are on today's topic by leaving a comment bellow down in the comments section or simply by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria. For more than two years now we have seen the Authority grow to become one of greatest, most dominate factions (if you want to call them a faction) of all time. Over the course of their run we have seen superstars such as Randy Orton, The Big Show, Kane, Luke Harper, Rusev, Mark Henry, and Seth Rollins join and fight for team Authority. The storyline's have been gripping and seriously entertaining and the simple fact that it is still going strong two years in is a pretty big deal. Do I think we will see the end of the Authority any time soon? Not at all. I think as time goes on they will simply get stronger and stronger the recroot's will become more interesting especially as more NXT stars make their way to the main roster. At the moment we are seeing an interesting stage in the Authority's run as current WWE World Heavyweight champion has been the root of causing more problems in the group and with both Randy Orton and Kane against the champion and the faction it leaves a spot for a new guy to join. But who's the right man? Who has exactly what it takes to be the next Authority member? Who has the character/gimmick that will work perfectly for the role?

It was just over a month ago now that we saw the return of Sheamus and debuting a new image and new attitude he made he's message clear and dominated the past month, taking out the likes of Daniel Bryan, Dolph Ziggler and Adrian Neville. He was put at number two in my top fifteen superstars of the month and was a superstar of the week back in April. He was apart of several stand out matches of the month witch also featured in my top twenty matches of the month. The links to all these posts will be bellow so you can easily go and check them out and see what I said there if you haven't already done so. Sheamus' new gimmick is all about showcasing a real man. It's about getting rid of the ear of the underdogs and making wrestling about the big guys again. I will admit I was not a fan at all of he's new physical look, but it literally took me four days to get used to it and fall in love with it. The new theme and entrance fitted so well with the new look and altogether I felt as though Sheamus had been re-branded down to perfection. But in an era full of amazing heels, where does Sheamus fit in? How will he's history effect he's future in the WWE? And how can the WWE use he's past to make him the new member of the Authority? First of all, let's take a look at he's previous work as a heel.

Sheamus debuted back in two thousand and nine for ECW and he debuted as a top heel, making sure everyone knew who he was and why he was here in the WWE.  He had dominate performance after dominate performance and as time went on he would prove to be a force to be reckoned with, attacking special guests, hall of famers, commentators and any superstar who stood in he's way. When he went up to RAW it was then we would really see Sheamus develop as he entered some huge feuds. One of witch was against Triple H witch saw some of Sheamus' best work in he's career. Hunter would give Sheamus he's first Wrestlemania match and despite not winning Sheamus did not suffer at all and he kept he's momentum at a high and at Extreme Rules he had one of my all time favourite Extreme Rules matches. He went on to feud with John Cena and we would eventually see Sheamus crowned the first ever Irish born world champion. Having yet another bunch of great matches with Cena things were looking really good for him and they only got better when he started working with Randy Orton in another great feud. This all happened in the early stages of Sheamus' career. So early on he stepped in the ring with the biggest names in the company and went over extremely well. Sheamus was the type of heel the company needed. He came across like a true, natural heel. He knew how to get under the skin of the fans, how to sell he's own feuds and matches. You literally thought that this man could do some serious damage. He had that barbaric, ruthless, extreme, unpredictable style that you just have to love. We also saw him become a king of the ring winner, the last until this year. Even working as a baby face he achieved so much and maintained a top performer. Winning the Royal rumble, making Wrestlemania history winning the World Heavyweight championship in record breaking time and for three years straight he came down to the final three in the Royal Rumble.

At the moment we have seen some cracks begin to show in the Authority. With Orton out and Kane at breaking point, their in need of a new face to join the group. For the past month now, we have seen the WWE World Heavyweight champion Seth Rollins wined Kane up and push him to he's biggest limits. We've seen Kane loose he's temper on several occasions and we all know he's official departure with the Authority is waiting around the corner. With the Big Show also not doing a great job of playing the "muscle" of the group we need someone to step in and bring back the fear of the Authority. What better man than Sheamus. He's currently working with Dolph Ziggler in a feud that I am loving but I think if the WWE actually gave it some thought, they could do some pretty interesting stuff at Payback with Sheamus and introducing him to the Authority. I think it would be stupid to bring him into the mix before the next pay per view considering it's only two weeks away. If they spend the next fourteen days building up Sheamus VS Dolph Ziggler part two to the max and keeping him competently out of all things Authority it could be a nice surprise brining him into the group at Payback. What they could do is have him win he's match against Ziggler or have J&J security attack Ziggler or somehow allow Sheamus to get the win or do something that will make it clear that he is now apart of the Authority or that the Authority want him on bored. The other option is somehow getting him involved in the main event. The Payback main event will see Seth Rollins defend he's championship against two of the top baby faces on the roster right now. If they had Sheamus come down to the ring towards the end of the match and somehow allow Rollins to get the win, screwing Orton and Reigns over, it would be the perfect way to introduce him to the group.

Sheamus' role would simply be to be the muscle of the group. To take either the Big Show or Kane's place in the faction. He would be their to assist Rollins when need be and also bring back fear to the Authority. In recent months they really have been missing that element of their faction. If Sheamus somehow took Ziggler out for a month or so it would make some kind of big statement that Sheamus
is a man to be feared and that if you mess with the Authority the same thing that happened to Ziggler will happen to you. As the Authority's tough guy he could be used to punish superstars who don't obey the Authority or step out of line. How they bring him into the group would be interesting. They could easily have him feud with Kane for all the obvious reasons. Or to move Orton onto something new they could have them two feud. If he was to cost either Reigns or Orton the championship match at Payback that opens a door for a whole new feud. Even thinking ahead to Money in the bank, both Sheamus and Dean Ambrose are favourites to win this years money in the bank ladder match and a feud between those would be easy to put together.

With Sheamus' past as a heel and with the things he has achieved in the WWE  it makes sense for him join the Authority. He's new style and message fits with the Authority's so well and what they could do with him creatively is an endless list. Sheamus joining the Authority is something that has to happen and something I don't doubt the WWE will pass on. But what do you think?
