Monday Night RAW Highlights

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! I'm back today with this weeks Monday Night RAW highlights. With just less than two weeks until the two thousand and sixteen SummerSlam pay per view every single show is an important one and as we have seen over the past thew days more matches have been announced to take place on the must see show. The show that is growing to be one of the strongest of the year so far! In today's blog post I'm going to be running you through all of last nights action highlighting the best moments of the three hour show. We will also touch on a thew extra moments that maybe where not so good may just be a couple more announcements made by the WWE throughout the night. Now, I have to admit that I didn't enjoy last nights show all that much. I don't know if it was because of the lack of sleep or what but I struggled to get into any of the action and I didn't see anything original or super exciting. Nothing really had me jumping out of my seat so that made writing this post a lot more difficult. I have however managed to find five highlight moments at least. I was supposed to have uploaded this weeks RAW Predictions yesterday but I mentioned on twitter that that post would not be uploaded because I was out most of the night. This week I do have a really busy week so there may be a few of the original post not going up. At the end of this week I will also start uploading the start of my SummerSlam predictions so keep an eye out for those. I will be back tomorrow hopefully with my Smackdown LIVE best and worse moments. For now, you can let me know what you thought of this weeks show by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

Cesaro and Sheamus tear the House Down Again

During last weeks episode of Monday night RAW Sheamus and Cesaro competed for the chance to have a future title match in the process managed to deliver a strong match that ended up being one of my favourite matches of the night. Last night the two once again stepped foot in the ring against one another managed to top their previous match competing in yet another stand out match of the night. It's unfortunate of course that the pair have not found themselves in a strong program heading into SummerSlam considering how talent they both are an how underutilised they both are but over the past couple o weeks they have at least been able to have the opportunity to show the world just what they are capable of.  A decent amount of chemistry, serious power, strength and agility from both men and popularity amongst the WWE universe makes a match between these two a must see and last night they really did prove that once again. The took part in another great match that I genuinely was left hooked onto and while I would love to see them both go on and enter a strong feud and storyline it's nice to at least seem them on TV and see them compete in stand out matches.

Roman Reigns Crashes the Wedding

A lot happened last week, we saw Roman Reigns first target Rusev setting his eyes on the United States Championship and a thew days later the champ himself went on to marry Lana. During the show last night the newly weds set out to share their special day. With the ring set up in true WWE wedding celebration, including three huge cakes that would later come in handy the pair spent a great deal of time boasting about their day and of course insult the entire arena and the US audience. It did highlight the changes we have seen in their characters and how they have developed over the years and even though it was you typical thing from WWE couples it worked for me and I did actually like it. Of course it was only a matter of time before former WWE World Heavyweight Champion Roman Reigns made his appearance crashing the wedding celebration. Now, you guys know I've never been the biggest Roman Reigns fan but I have to say that it really is great seeing him finally booked and used the right way. He should have been put into the US Title picture a long long time ago but the fact they have finally got it right is what we should be taking away and it really is turning out to be one of the best decisions the WWE have made for Roman in a very very long time. Last night we saw Reigns challenge Rusev for the US championship at SummerSlam, a match I honestly cannot wait to see happen in two weeks time. While Rusev may have rejected Roman's offer we later found out that this match will go ahead in couple of weeks time. During the segment last night we got to see a far more fun side to Reigns character and he for the first time really did come across like the baby face the WWE have been trying to make him come across as. It was also a classic moment seeing Lana go face first into one of the cakes. Never gets old.

Charlotte is all Alone at SummerSlam

The opening match last week saw the first mixed tag team match on Monday Night RAW in a long time with Charlotte teaming up with future hall of famer Chris Jericho to take on the women's champion Sasha Banks and Enzo Amore. The closing moments of that match saw Charlotte pin Sasha only seven days after Sasha became champion, taking away a great deal of her momentum. One of the biggest problems Sasha has faced while facing Charlotte in recent months has been Dana Brook. The former NXT superstar has find herself playing a huge part in Charlotte's matches costing several opponents including Sasha their match against the former champion. Her antics almost worked a couple of weeks back during that epic women's championship match. Sasha last night made it clear to general manager Mick Foley that this would be a problem heading into SummerSlam and so a match was set up for this weeks Monday night RAW. Sasha and Dana would go one on one and if Sasha was to win than Dana would be banned from ringside at SummerSlam in two weeks time. However, if Dana somehow picked up the win than that SummerSlam match would become a handicap match. Their one on one last night was short and sweet. It had the distractions, they both had a short time in control and there were a couple of solid spots, in the end it was the champ who walked away with the win meaning that at SummerSlam Charlotte is all alone. I thought this was a nice little addition to the build up of their match. It made sense and it tied in with the story the WWE have been telling especially with Charlotte pretty much since her arrival on the main roster. I honestly cannot wait to see these two women collide at SummerSlam in two weeks time.

Seth Rollins and Finn Balor Set the Record Straight

I have to say that the match I am most looking forward to on the SummerSlam card is Finn Balor VS Seth Rollins. I was over the moon when it was announced a couple of weeks back that it would be these two superstars competing to become the first ever WWE Universal champion. It was clearly the best decision to make and there is no doubt in my mind that these two will deliver a phenomenal match in a couple of weeks time. They haven't been given a lot of time to really build up their match but last week we did see a segment between the two that saw former NXT Champion, Finn Balor get the upper hand. This week we got to hear from the two superstars separately in two very different ways. We first saw Rollins take to the mic in the centre of the ring where he mocked Balor once again and promised to become the new and fist ever WWE Universal Champion. Later on in the night we heard form Balor in a special video where he educated Seth Rollins and the WWE universe on his name the reasons why he choose the names Finn and Balor and how they come into his character. Personally, I loved hearing from both these men in such different ways. I did favour what we heard from Balor and how it was done but this sure did do the job in making me excited for this match even more. Whats so great with these two is we don't need a huge build up, we have two extremely talented men who we can trust to deliver a fantastic match. What we see between the two next week in the go home show will sure be a must see.

Daniel Bryan Special Guests on Monday night RAW

Following the actions from Randy Orton and Brock Lesnar last week that saw both men invade each show general manager Mick Foley invited Smackdown LIVE general manger Daniel Bryan to Monday night RAW to discuss what happened last week. The pair spent a great deal of time complimenting one another and their work on their individual shows, with Foley also mentioning the Cruiserweight classic, witch i did really like. I thought it was nice seeing the two general mangers
come together. It made sense following what we saw go down last week but also reignited that competition, that fire between the two stars. Orton VS Lesnar is a match I really am super excited to see at SummerSlam in a couple of weeks time and the fact that this is the only RAW VS Smackdown match of the night just makes this even more must see and last night that real competition feel was kicked in.

Extra's

The main event saw Rusev and Cesaro take part in what was my favourite match of the night. It was nice to see both men who have gone underutilised for so long really get the attention they deserved last night. Braun Strowman continued to make an impact showing his dominance greatly. And finally one of my personal favourite highlight moments of this weeks show was without a doubt the video package hyping Orton VS Lesnar. It great seeing their history and how their carers started out. We got to see the simulates and the differences between the two. It got me so much more excited for their SummerSlam match and it was a very well done video package.
