This weekend, live on the WWE network Samoa Joe will defend his NXT Championship against the king of strong style, Shinsuke Nakamura  in a monster of a main event no one will want to miss out on! In today's blog post we are going to be taking a look back at the past couple of months and what we have seen from both these superstars and making our final bold predictions for this must see match.

There is no doubt about it, Shinsuke Nakamura is the hottest talent in all of professional wrestling today. Since arriving in NXT the king of strong style has been the most talked about superstar in the WWE with his popularity ever growing. Whenever you look amongst the NXT live crowds you are stunned at just many kids and adults are sporting Nakamura shirts while everyone at home is rooting for the Japanese star. So far he has competed in a small handful of matches taking on some of the greatest names in NXT history including  Finn Balor, Sami Zayn, and Austin Aries and this week Nakamura will be presented with the biggest opportunity of his NXT career so far when he challenges the dominate Samoa Joe for the prestigious NXT Championship live at NXT Takeover Brooklyn. Honestly, I cannot tell you just how excited I am for this match up, it is impossible to put it into words. Here we have two of the hottest talents on the roster, two of the biggest and most muse see men in all of the WWE going one on one for the biggest prize in NXT in front of a huge, sold out crowd. It's impossible not to be beyond excited for this bout.

Since arriving in NXT Shinsuke Nakamura has been nothing short of dominate and impressive. The moment his music hits the crowd is completely captivated, standing on their feet singing along to his entrance theme and throughout the match up remains the main attraction. So far he has competed in several stand out matches two of witch in talks for taking the award for two thousand and sixteen match of the year. His match up against Sami Zayn was one of the greatest matches I have ever seen and I know I'm not alone when it comes to that statement. Towards the end of the year I will be talking about this match in even more detail so make sure to keep an eye out for that but for now I will link bellow a very recent blog post where I mentioned why this was my match of the year so far. Now, the match that actually got Shinsuke to this point was a huge bout between him and former NXT Champion Finn Balor. Another stand out match both in Nakamura's early WWE career and of twenty sixteen. Another iconic match the WWE hyped this up for several weeks with interviews, segments, and backstage promos all taking part in the build up to make this feel as though it was SummerSlam or even Wrestlemania main event worthy. The match itself lived up to the hype and the expectations of the fans. A fantastic match well over twenty minuets I was left talking about this match for weeks! Now, it was perfectly that this was going to be the final match in Finn Balor's NXT career and Nakamura if he scored the win would easily find himself entering the NXT Championship picture. After all, Shinsuke had made it clear from the moment he arrived that he wanted to be NXT champion and in order to so he had to make his way through the best and if was able to beat Finn Balor, an NXT icon, than he could move onto focusing his attentions on Samoa Joe.

Here is what I wrote Samoa Joe's previous Takeover title defence

Last night Finn Balor and Samoa Joe made NXT history when they competed in the first ever Steel cage match in NXT competing for the top prize, the NXT Championship. This is a feud that really has actually been written for around a year and processed more and more throughout the past twelve months. There is such a great back story between these two superstars and their NXT careers and last night really did cement the end of their bitter rivalry and what a way to end it, inside a steel cage. The bar had already been set so high not only because of their past matches but because of the standard of the night. The expectations were so high also because we really have seen some phenomenal bouts between these two. Topping what we have already seen in the past was going to be difficult. I have to say that this wasn't the best match of their feud but it was a freaking amazing bout. These two went to town on each other and I seriously enjoyed every single second. There was such a great feel to this match. Balor walked into this with a completely different attitude. It actually did feel as though I was watching a new Finn Balor. He was so driven, so focused and do desperate to get that championship back. Throughout the match you could see how much that title meant to both these superstars and you could also tell a lot from Balor that he wanted to punish Samoa Joe and really put and end to this feud. Despite being rather tired I was completely hooked when it came to this match. The action was great, the story telling was strong, the commentary was so well done and some of the spots in this match were just phenomenal. Those closing moments has me in complete shock and awe. This was how you end a brilliant show and a fantastic feud.

I am a huge fan of Samoa Joe. I have mentioned before that I loved seeing him join NXT, I have loved his feuds since arriving and I loved even more how and when he won the NXT Championship. I honestly do not have a bad word to say about him. Just like Nakamura, since arriving in NXT Joe has been nothing but dominate. He has had the fans entertained and hooked from the moment he came through the curtain and that hasn't changed to this day. It has been great sitting back and seeing how his character has developed and adapted according to storyline's and his work with Balor really did elevate him to a whole new level. Again, just like Nakamura, Joe has found himself competing in a handful of brilliant stand out matches that have also been heavily in talks of match of the year. I mean come on, any match that saw him and Finn Balor go at it was a must see and easy candidate for match of the year. Trust me, after watching them go one on one at NXT Takeover London, I can say that these two tore the house down. Now, Joe may have been able to win the war against Balor but at NXT Takeover Brooklyn this year Joe faces a whole new kind of challenge in Shinsuke Nakamura, can he win this battle too? During his feud with Balor Samoa Joe really did prove to be one of if not the biggest heel in NXT today. He knows how to work a crowd and he knows how to tell and elevate a story to the next level. Before he had even shared a ring with Nakamura, Joe had spoke of the fan favourite and made it clear he wasn't willing to give a championship match out of nowhere. It's safe to say the WWE have been planting the seeds for this match for a good month and I along with everyone else am very excited to see what happens this week.

This is without question the match I am most excited for on the NXT Takeover Brooklyn card. When Nakamura first arrived in the WWE one of the matches I want to see him compete in the most was against Samoa Joe and now that we are getting it in just a matter of days, I cannot tell you just how excited I am. This is match sure to steal the show and one to rival any potential match of the year candidate in the talks so far. We have two very different yet talented men who know how to entertain, tell a story and deliver a phenomenal match. We all knew upon his arrival that it wouldn't long before Nakamura found himself walking into the championship picture and competing for the most prestigious prize NXT has to offer and so it came to no surprise to learn that he would be going up against Samoa Joe for the title at Brooklyn. Now, I along with many fans will be rooting for Nakamura later this week during this match, whether or not the WWE will actually put the title on him so soon I don't know. I do believe he will be champion at some point and I do believe that Brooklyn could be the night. The only reason I doubt it is because of the story that is Samoa Joe. There was so much time spent telling Joe's story of being champion and so there is a huge part of me that doubts he will drop it so soon. However, this is NXT and anything really could happen, hence the reason why I also believe so strongly that we could see a new champion crowned this week. But, regardless of the ending this will without question be a phenomenal match you will not want to miss out on!
