WWE SummerSlam Predictions: Brock Lesnar VS Randy Orton

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good! This up and coming Sunday the WWE will host the two thousand sixteen SummerSlam pay per view live from Brooklyn, New York, the exact same venue as last years event. Following up from Saturday's NXT Takeover live special as per usual the WWE are going to have one heck of a show to follow up with a stacked card full of must see matches this is yet another pay per view you sure as hell do not want to miss out on! Throughout this week I will be uploading a bunch of prediction posts for some of the strongest matches on the card. Now, usually I would have uploaded this post on the actual week of SummerSlam but due to having to also write and upload NXT Takeover posts I have decided to start uploading these posts just a little earlier than usual. Know that most championship matches for SummerSlam will be predicted here on my blog. As usual I will be live tweeting throughout the SummerSlam pay per view and the NXT Takeover live special. It is my birthday this week so there may be a couple of posts uploaded late throughout the week because of doing my own thing but they will be uploaded at some point. I am thinking of running a little live Q and A a couple of hours before both shows so if that is something you would be interested in do let me know and I will sort that out before Sunday. Now, I am pre posting these posts both for SummerSlam and NXT Takeover Brooklyn and so keep in mind while reading these posts that some things may have changed or developed since the day that I wrote the posts. I will however take some time to edit every single one of these posts to try and keep everything up to date and clear. As always any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including my most recent Review and reactions for Monday night RAW, Smackdown Live and of course NXT. Finally, you can let me know what your predictions are for every single match on both the SummerSlam and the NXT Takeover Brooklyn card by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

SummerSlam is a place for dream matches. As the second biggest annual WWE show of the year the card is always stacked with must see matches that often end up in the talks at the end of the year for match of the year. Often the show also comes out stronger than Wrestlemania and so missing out on this pay per view just isn't something anyone should be considering. The first match announced for this years SummerSlam card was a monster of a match up. One that is over fourteen years in the making as the beast, Brock Lesnar takes on the viper, Randy Orton for the first time in WWE Pay per view history.

There is no doubt about it, whether you are a hardcore fan or a casual fan you would have heard of Brock Lesnar and Randy Orton at least once in your lifetime. Two of the WWE biggest stars in the history of it's existence Orton and Lesnar have gone on to become two of the most must see, popular, and recognisable faces in professional wrestling history. Throughout this careers we have seen them both achieve absolutely outstanding things. Between them they have several WWE and World Heavyweight Championship reigns, Orton a former Money in the bank winner, both main evented Wrestlemania and SummerSlam, Lesnar a former King of the ring winner, both previous royal rumble winners and with Lesnar beating the Undertakers streak and Orton a former tag team champion and Intercontinental champion these two have pretty much done it all between them and so naming them two of the greatest WWE superstars of all time seems to make perfect sense and something no one can argue. This weekend the pair will collide for the first time and I don't know about you but I cannot wait to see what goes down between them.

So lets talk Brock Lesnar. There are not many human beings that can do what this beast has done throughout his sports career. Achieving greatness wherever he goes, Brock Lesnar has been established as one of the stand out athletes of this generation. Over the past five years he has done nothing but amaze the WWE universe since his shock return to the company back in two thousand and twelve on the night after Wrestlemania. Taking control of every single match he has competed in since he has without a doubt become the most dominate figure in sports entertainment today.Stepping in the ring and demolishing the likes of Triple H, the Big Show, Kofi Kingston, John Cena, Dean Ambrose and of course the Undertaker Brock Lesnar is the hottest talent in the WWE regardless of his contract deals. He spent the best part of twenty sixteen as the WWE World Heavyweight Champion after giving John Cena the beating of a lifetime back at the SummerSlam pay per view of that year. I still go back and re-watch that match and still am amazed by his performance and left just as stunned as I was the first time I watched it. That exact same year we also saw Lesnar do what no man has ever done before him, defeat the Undertaker at Wrestlemania. Again, still a match that I go back and watch and left completely amazed and shocked as I was on the night when it first aired. A highlight moment in WWE history and a huge turning point in the career of Brock Lesnar as his dominance truly was established. You look at what the beast has done and who he has stepped in the ring with and it is surprising to see that Randy Orton just isn't one of them. Both arriving on the scene around the exact same time and having the careers they have had it's amazing to see that they have never crossed paths. That is until this up and coming Sunday live on the WWE Network.

Anyone that knows me knows that I have been a Randy Orton fan from day one. Watching him as a kid he was someone that I instantly took a liking too. A young promising star he was someone that inspired young me and someone that for some reason i was took a liking too. His legend killer gimmick and his days in Evolution established Randy and while he was only a very young superstar it was clear that this guy was going to be huge and was bound to have a massive, massive career in the WWE. And look where we are today, Orton has not let down a single person and is without a doubt one of the biggest stars in the WWE today. A multi time champion and a resume that secures him as a future WWE hall of famer. Sure there have been some not so great moments but who hasn't had those moments? We have seen him take on some of the best talents in the history of the WWE many of witch are hall of famers and many of witch are either future hall of famers or up and coming stars that have benefited from stepping in the ring with him in the first place. He was of course out of action for those very long nine months but since returning he has done nothing but focus on building momentum for arguably one of the biggest most must see matches of his career. Almost every single week since returning at the Battleground pay per view last year Orton has been focused and determined taking out every single man that has stood in his way and now this weekend all that hard work will come into play as he faces one of the toughest challenges of his career so far.

It's crazy to think, taking in everything we have already discussed today that these two have only ever stepped in the ring against one another once in their WWE careers. Dating all the way back in two thousand and two when both these men were still rookies, the pair stood toe to toe only two months into Lesnars WWE Championship reign and the young Lesnar walked out with the victory. Fourteen years later and these two men collide for the first time on WWE Pay Per View. A must see match, you would be stupid to miss out on. Promising to be one of the strongest matches of the night I cannot wait to see what goes down between these two legendary superstars. Now, I sit here and moan a lot about how the WWE run things but I have to admit that I have loved the way they have built up this match. It's a must see without a doubt, one that is years and years in the making but the little things the WWE have done throughout the past month has been brilliant and key in the build up to this match. Possibly the best decision they made was putting them both on separate shows.  While it would have been easier to just put them both on RAW the WWE for once took a risk and made the right decision by putting Lesnar over on RAW and Orton on Smackdown. It's the only RAW VS Smackdown battle that we have walking into this match and heats up the rivalry between the two shows alone massively. In between that everything we have seen and heard from these two men over the past month has helped build this up to be blockbuster match. Now, of course I am expecting this to be nothing short of amazing. This weekend we do have a strong SummerSlam card and while so many great matches have been announced this remains one of the biggest of the night without fail. Both very different yet very similar no one knows exactly what to expect from this match. I do think it's going to be unlike anything we have seen in a Lesnar match in a very very long time and Orton will prove to be a huge test for Lesnar. It's also going to be great seeing just how much of a beating Randy takes on the night. Of course while I would love to see Orton win it for Smackdown I have to root for Lesnar. It just would not make sense to see Orton walk out as the winner of this match. Whoever does eventually end up defeating Brock clean is going to receive the push of all pushes and that push needs to go to a young up and coming star. Orton just doesn't fit that bill. I don't doubt that this will be a fantastic match and a highlight of the night but I have just got to go with The beast on this one.

As always I would love to know what you guys think and what your predictions are so feel free to leave a comment bellow or tweet me at @TezangiVictoria.
