5 Steps in Getting Big Cass Over

Hello everyone and welcome back It was on the second night of the twenty eighteen WWE Superstar Shake Up that fans saw Big Cass make his return to action after eight months away from the ring. Sporting a new attitude, Cass looked to make an impact attacking Daniel Bryan in the main event following a backstage confrontation with the former general manager. During last weeks episode of Smackdown, LIVE Cass revealed why he had attacked Bryan and why he has become his first target upon returning to the WWE. Now, it’s evident that Cass has a great deal of potential and the WWE do have big plans for him however, for things to go well Cass needs to be competing in strong matches that showcase his abilities and whether or not Bryan is the man to really give Cass what he needs is another topic but today we are going to be looking at five Steps the WWE must make in order to get him over and ensure he becomes a success on Smackdown LIVE. I love writing these kinds of blog posts and I definitely want to write more in the future so let me know if that is something you would be interested in! Now, as always, any recent blog posts will be linked right at the very end including my Backlash pay per view and finally, you can get involved and tell me what you think of Big Cass and if a push is something you would like to see and if you think it could work by leaving a comment a below or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria

Randy Orton

It is important that Cass squares off against superstars with a similar style. Daniel Bryan is a man with speed and technical wrestling on his side and the pace of their up and coming match may not be something that allows Cass to really showcase a lot of his strengths. Sure, he will be able to throw Bryan around the ring and look like a destructive giant but that style won’t get him over forever and mixing it up is important. Facing off against a talent like Orton will give Cass the opportunity to work a slower paced match up where more of his skills can be shown. Not to mention working a match against such a big name in Orton will really give him the push he needs especially If he can escape with a victory.

Pairing him with The Miz

While their recent segment showed the pair do not get along pairing the Miz and Big Cass together may be the better option for both superstars’ short term. The Miz by no means needs anyone by his side to make an impact. He’s a big enough star and character to own his rivalry with Daniel Bryan alone, however, having a Giant on his side for a little bit may just allow the story to last a touch longer while also getting Cass over. We know that Big Cass is set to take on Daniel Bryan at the up and coming Backlash pay per view and interference from the Miz is something that we could witness on the night. Again, Cass also doesn’t really need the Miz by his side but a short-term arrangement can do no damage for either superstar and it gives Cass more of a role on the roster setting him off in the right tracks.

Squash Matches

One of the main reasons Braun Strowman got over was thanks to the squash matches. Yes, some do believe this was something that went on for too long, but it was a key factor in getting him over and making him look like a monster. The same thing needs to be done with Cass. If the WWE can put him in squash matches against “local competitors” every week in-between segments and backstage promos and interviews Cass can be made to look like a complete monster. His strength and power can be showcased which of course in return will pick up a reaction from fans in attendance and at home.

A spot in the Money in the Bank ladder match

Now, I do believe there is a big list of superstars who should win this year's Money in the Bank Ladder match before Big Cass however, a spot in the match is something he needs. This is the chance for Cass to once again show his dominance. Tipping over ladders, sending superstars into ladder and announce tables, being too big to climb and reach the briefcase, and possibly start a new feud. The WWE could also decide to not include him in the Money in the Bank Ladder match, however, give him a role. For example, helping the Miz get the win or costing either the Miz or Daniel Bryan the Money in the Bank briefcase. Regardless, this is a pay per view that will be very important for Big Cass and there are plenty of opportunities for him here.

Character Development

Finally, since returning Cass has done a brilliant job explaining his actions and the WWE has done a good job working on developing his character. The mic work we got from him only last week was fantastic. Not perfect but damn good and a highlight of the night and now what we need to see is this kept up. His story right now focuses on him being bitter and angry and of course… being big but we need to see that developed more. He has proven to be able to work fantastically as both a heel and face but if the WWE can keep him coming across a little cocky, bitter, and angry and allow him to talk on the mic as much as is needed then he will start getting a bigger reaction.
There is a great deal of potential in Big Cass and things are looking good so far! What do you guys think? Can Big Cass become a big star? Or will he flop and find himself further back down the roster?

And that is it!
