8 WWE Superstars Who Could Form Nexus 2.0 (Part 1)

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had an excellent start to the week so far! Okay, so today I am kick-starting a brand new mini-series here on my blog. Anyone that knows me knows that I have always been a big fan of factions. I grew up learning about and watching the likes of NWO, Evolution, DX and so so many more and the older I've got I've continued enjoying watching newer factions including Bullet Club and the Shield. A group I, however, had a very big soft spot for was Nexus. Okay, so it does pain me to talk about this faction because so much went wrong and so many missed opportunities went by, however, the idea was fantastic, so much happened and so much more could have happened if only things were done differently. Now, I've recently been apart of a few conversations where I have spoken about passed factions, current factions and what I would like to see in the future and the idea of Nexus making a return is something that has popped up a lot! And so in today's blog post, we are going to be looking at eight superstars who could form Nexus 2.0. This is a two-part post and part two will be uploaded very soon! In the coming weeks, I will also be taking a look at why I want to see Nexus return and a booking post will also be uploaded! For now, any recent blog posts will be linked below and you can get involved and tell me what you thought of Nexus and if you would like to see a return by leaving a comment or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria

Wade Barrett

If the WWE is to ever bring back the idea of Nexus, then plenty would need to be different. Stronger matches and a better end result is extremely important, however, if there is anything that must stay the same it’s the leader. Wade Barrett made for a perfect front man. He led the faction amazingly well in a convincing heel role that grabbed fan attention. His role a second time around would be exactly the same. A return from the former Intercontinental champion will give the newly made faction the buzz and the ability to get over with the fans far better and easier. Barrett remains a name the WWE universe do want to see make a return to the company at some point and reinventing Nexus with Barrett as the man behind it including picking who goes into the team makes for an excellent way to bring him back to the WWE and bring back Nexus.

Dolph Ziggler

The idea of Nexus 2.0 is focused on superstars who feel mistreated, underrated, underutilized and no one really fits that bill greater than Dolph Ziggler. A rocky career, Ziggler has had his ups and downs. At one point he was one of the most over guys on the roster with defining crowd reactions but he now finds himself in a position where fans almost don’t care about him at all. As of right now, he is working alongside Drew McIntyre which could turn out to be a good move but in the long run what he needs is to be apart of a faction and not a basic tag team. Ziggler shines when he has other superstars sound alongside him and adding him to a dangerous, reckless and exciting faction could very easily put him back in a position higher up on the roster. He’s a member of the team that would provide experience and all the promos talking about how he believes he is better than everyone else and has always deserved better. Ziggler is in desperate need of something big to save him and this could be one of not many options left.

EC3

My personal favourite pick for a Nexus 2.0 member is the recently returned EC3. This is man that really does represent what the faction will be all about. A man who the WWE let go, who didn’t use to properly and push in the direction he should have been. EC3 is a very very strong character with a big following and giving him a role in Nexus would be fantastic. He’s one of a couple of members in the team who will hold a grudge, come across a little bitter and out to prove a point, He’s also likely to be the muscle of the faction and with his in-ring diversity, he really is a great pick. The former TNA star also works a very different character to the rest of the names we will be mentioning today and in the long run, could be pushed as one of the first guys to break away from Nexus far far in the future.

Jinder Mahal

Yet again, Jinder Mahal is another prime example of what Nexus 2.0 will stand for. He is still one of the most underappreciated superstars In the WWE today and with the year he has it makes all the sense in the world to add him to this faction. While he did have a run as WWE champion, Mahal still struggled to get the respect and admiration from the WWE universe which makes for a perfect way to kick-start his story and his reasoning behind joining Nexus. Mahal is simply a guy who deserves better. He deserves more respect, he deserves better booking, and after recently losing his United States Championship to Jeff Hardy this may be the start of a not so great year ahead for Jinder and a role in a newly formed Nexus is exactly where he would shine.

And there is part one! Part two of this post will be uploaded very soon! For now, any recent blog posts will be linked below and you can get involved and tell me what you thought of Nexus and if you would like to see a return by leaving a comment or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria
