Monday Night RAW Predictions

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you all had a great weekend and are all well and good! We are just over a week away from the two thousand and sixteen draft. The brand extension has been hyped and plugged like crazy over the past couple of months by the WWE and I have to say that I'm really exited for next Tuesday. The WWE have given us a lot to look forward to in the month of July heading into August and with big announcements continuing to come through it's an interesting and exciting time for the WWE and for us fans. In today's blog post we are starting right back at the beginning again with this weeks Monday night RAW Predictions. Last week was an action packed week in the WWE with plenty to talk about. We had more matches added to the Battleground pay per view and the first ever match for this years SummerSlam show was announced with Randy Orton taking on the beast, Brock Lesnar. I will over the coming weeks be talking about this match in a little more detail so keep an eye out for that. Today in particular we are going to be recapping all of last weeks action and taking a look at what we could possibly see during this weeks Monday night RAW. Before we get started I have a couple of announcements to make; first of all I want to mention that next week I will be live tweeting throughout the Draft night so make sure you get following me over there. Any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including last weeks RAW Highlights post. And finally, you can let me know what your predictions are for tonight's show by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

The Chairmen Returns

We are just over a week away from the brand extension and as noted by WWE this week on Monday night RAW the chairmen, Vince McMahon will be returning. What he will be doing on the show has not yet been made clear but we can assume that it sure has something to do with the up and coming draft/brand split. Over the past month or so we have seen the announcement of Smackdown live create some kind of friction between Stephanie and Shane McMahon and we can also expect to see Vince address that also. Both siblings have expressed that they want to be the one to manage Tuesday Night Smackdown starting next week, hopefully now with just over a week until Smackdown live kick starts we will finally get some answers as to who will be running what show and so on. There is always the possibility that Vince could announce a new name to run Smackdown live on the show tonight but whatever he is out to announce it is sure to be an interesting one and his appearance always does spark some kind of conversation. Last week we also found out that Randy Orton will go face to face with the beast, Brock Lesnar at one of the biggest shows of the year, SummerSlam next month. Again, Vince is sure to bring that up during the show tonight, hyping what is set to be one of the biggest matches on the SummerSlam card this year. Knowing Vince, he will also make sure to make us know that this year's SummerSlam is set to be a big one. The opening to this weeks Monday night RAW should be an interesting and revealing one to say the least.

Number One Contender Battle Royal

I have to say that I have really enjoyed The Miz's Intercontinental Championship reign. Since capturing the championship he has managed to fit in some brilliant matches one of witch is for sure in the running or match of the year. He has stepped in the ring defending his championship against the likes of Sami Zayn, Kevin Owens, and long time rival, Cesaro. In recent weeks we have seen him return after taking time out to film his latest movie and face off against big shots, Kane, and the current WWE World Heavyweight Champion, Dean Ambrose. This week a new number one contender will be made official as a huge number one contenders Battle Royal will take place with winner most likely going on to face the Miz at the up and coming Battleground pay per view. The likes of Dolph Ziggler and Kalisto have recently featured in backstage segments and one on one matches with the Miz and so are easy names to consider as possibly victors. However, personally, I have to back both Apollo Crews and Baron Corbin. Both are need of some kind of big push heading in the right direction with the up and coming brand split happening. I know Corbin is a heel and so the chances of him scoring the victory tonight is a touch unlikely if he is to feature in the battle royal, but the Miz being the type of character he is, it would easily work having them briefly feud heading into Battleground and he has after all been advertised for the show. Now, I love a battle Royal so this does give me something to look forward to tonight. Let me know who you would like to see leave this weeks Monday night RAW as the new number one contender for the Intercontinental Championship.

Sasha Banks takes on Dana Brooke One On One

During a backstage segment on last weeks episode of Thursday night Smackdown it was announced that on this weeks Monday night RAW Dana Brooke will challenge Sasha Banks in a one on one match live on the show. This was a match we were all expecting to see happen at some point. Since returning Sasha has been on fire taking out both Dana Brooke and the current WWE Women's Champion, Charlotte. We have seen the boss force Dana in particular to tap out on a number of different occasions. Tonight there will be an easy opportunity for Sasha to gain momentum. If I'm being honest, I'm not expecting anything phenomenal to come out of this match. I know I keep saying it but Dana really should still be competing in NXT and since she has got her call up we have only been seeing her prove she isn't ready to be competing up on the main roster. The best thing about this match however is that Sasha is great at working with any superstar any ability level. She will be able to take control of the match bringing some story and selling Dana's offense well. Of course Sasha should walk away with the victory tonight and it should be a quick and easy win but with the champ at ringside we can expect thing to not be as plain sailing for the boss and with a distraction from Charlotte we could even expect Dana to somehow walk away with a victory, it really does depend on what direction they want to go in with this feud. Charlotte is yet to have an opponent announced for Battleground in a couple of weeks time. I would still much rather see Paige and Sasha battle it out for number one contendership just so we can have more depth to the story and Sasha can show she's actually earned a title match, whatever match is set for the show should be announced tonight or at some point during the week.

Zack Ryder, back on Top?

In recent weeks, Zack Ryder has found himself back on top and gaining momentum. Not only did he pick up the winning pin fall for team USA last week during that huge sixteen man tag team match in last weeks main event but he also scored a victory over former world champion, Sheamus a couple of of nights later on Smackdown. Ryder has since gone on to challenge Rusev for his United States Championship and we can expect to see this develop on tonight's Monday night RAW. Personally, I struggle to have any interest in this. I have to say that I'm not the biggest Zack Ryder fan in the world. I've just never been able to get behind him as much as a lot of other fans have. I'm also pretty bored of the type of challengers stepping forward to face Rusev. This is a man that faced John Cena in his first Wrestlemania, I don't want to see a man with so much potential stuck in a going nowhere feud with Zack Ryder. Sure it's your classic story between the strong, dominate champion and the underdog fan favourite but for me personally it just doesn't float my boar.  I'm expecting these two to clash at Battleground next weekend and the story to develop during tonight's show.

What awaits Rollins Next?

Since putting the WWE Championship on Ambrose the WWE have actually, to my surprise, done a great job in making him look strong and dominate as champion. He currently sits high on momentum looking the strongest heading into this huge Triple threat match. I have to admit that I was not expecting Ambrose to be looking as strong as he has done. With Reigns out due to his suspension Ambrose and Rollins have both been doing a brilliant job keeping the feud alive and keeping Reigns
as a key factor. It does still feel like a build up to a triple threat thanks to the brilliant mic work from both Ambrose and Rollins. Now last week, Dean and Seth both competed in brilliant singles matches against Dolph Ziggler and the Miz both gaining momentum. We also got to see Ambrose prove why he is champion taking out Rolling on the announce table sending a huge message to both his Battleground opponents. With Rollins taking such a beating and Ambrose leading the feud we can expect to see the tables turn during the show tonight with Rollins hopefully gaining more momentum and finally getting the upper hand. How he goes about and does that bringing out something different should be interesting but both these superstars are such strong characters and such brilliant story tellers that it will work regardless and it is after all thanks to them that Reigns still feels like an important part of this match. I'm still super excite for this triple threat and I cannot wait to see where the story goes next during the show tonight.

So they are my five point predictions for this weeks Monday night RAW. As always I will be live tweeting throughout the show tonight using the hashtag #RAW so make sure to get following me if you are not already.
