5 Things Frustrating WWE Fans Today

While there is plenty to enjoy in the world of WWE right now from all things Ronda Rousey, the amazing work going on down in NXT, and must-see matches from the likes of AJ Styles, Seth Rollins and more! However, there is as always plenty of decisions rubbing fans the wrong way and today we are going to be focusing on exactly that. Looking at overrated superstars, bad booking decisions, and pay per view frustrations we have plenty to dive into today so let’s not waste any more time and jump right into it!

Where is the Universal Championship?

I know this is something that everyone is talking about right now and it’s a topic I’ve been discussing quite a bit here on my blog recently, but it must be mentioned again, where is the Universal Championship. Now, I will be the first to say that there was, in fact, a story to be told here. Lesnar barely showing up and owning that “I’m better than this” attitude has a lot in it and was for a while entertaining at most but at this stage, fans have just grown bored and fed up. The roster is stacked full of amazing talent all of which worthy of being champion, yet the title remains around the waist of a man whose loyalties are questioned. Brock, of course, has so much talent so much to bring to the table, but the WWE universe is crying out for one of the hard-working, consistent stars we see every week such as Bobby Lashley or Seth Rollins. The decision to keep the title on Lesnar and let him continue working this way is just flat annoying fans and discrediting the championship.

NXT Stars Not Having the Same Push on the Main Roster

The likes of Seth Rollins, Kevin Owens, and Charlotte have been amongst those former NXT stars to come up to the main roster and have amazingly successful careers on the larger stages, however, there is a whole bunch of call-ups that have not gone as many expected to. It's name including The Revival, Tye Dillinger, Shinsuke Nakamura, Bobby Roode, Tyler Breeze and so many more that haven’t scratched the surface in terms of what they should be doing. All the names above had fantastic runs down in developmental and while things are always sure to change when the jump from NXT to the main roster is made one thing that should remain the same is the direction in which these talents go in. Guys like Dillinger and Breeze who may not seem like main event talent won’t find themselves in WWE Championship bouts, however, barely using them at all and not allowing them to truly showcase their talents is extremely frustrating. Top stars including Nakamura and The Revival truly have been failed over the past year or so and it’s a true shame!

Pay Per View Lengths

Another thing I have been talking about a lot here on my blog recently is the length of pay per views. With the stars of RAW and Smackdown LIVE now working the same pay per views, every month the WWE has decided to provide four hours long shows that drag like no other. Now, I and everyone reading this loves wrestling! We sit through hours of Wrestle Kingdom and Wrestlemania and that’s all okay, but in all honesty, do you really want to sit through four hours of unnecessary content? Of course, with such a stacked overall roster, there is all the potential in the world to provide excellent matches every month on PPV however, that isn’t happening. Instead, we are getting matches no one is truly interested in and could be saved for episodes of RAW or Smackdown LIVE with Baron Corbin vs Finn Balor from the recent Extreme Rules pay per view being a key example of that. The WWE, the individual brands, and the superstars would benefit far more from making shows shorter and focusing on those key must-see matches and making them longer. This means those bigger shows like Summer Slam, Survivor Series, and Wrestlemania mean more and can be a true celebration.

Sasha Banks VS Bayley

This next point really is focusing on overall disappointing storyline’s but there is none standing out for all the wrong reasons quite as much as Sasha Banks vs Bayley. This is something that really is just a pure mess right now and it's extremely frustrating. The direction the WWE is taking this in makes no sense, fans are confused, and because this has been done so poorly the WWE Universe are just starting to completely lose interest. During their time in NXT, the two worked one of the best matches and rivalries in the brand's history and so so many believed that they would work just as strong of if not a stronger storyline up on the main roster at some point. Their rivalry was something so many fans wanted to see more of and their big main roster one on one was so massively anticipated. However, looking at what we have now is just a mess. The direction is lost, we are seeing repetitive segments and matches, and the general storytelling has been so weak and poor fans have such little interest. With a romance angle somehow being teased this week who knows where this will go next and whether it can be turned around.

Roman… Reigns

I’m going to try my best to keep this last point as short and simple as possible because this is something we have all been talking about for a very long time. Now, I will not deny the fact that Roman Reigns is a very talented in-ring performer. Love him or hate him you cannot take away the fact he has been apart of so many standouts matches over the years, however, his push to the top still isn’t justified. Sure, it made sense at times to give him a title match here and there but to continue forcing it just isn’t working and it's only making fans more frustrated. The Greatest Royal Rumble show didn’t work for him, the continued matches against Lesnar didn’t work, and giving him yet another opportunity this past week on RAW didn’t work. The obvious decision to shove him down our throats years down the line still isn’t paying off and while you cant take away how much of a talented in ring performer he is there is also no denying he shouldn’t be in the Universal Championship picture for as long as he has been the likes of Seth Rollins, Drew McIntyre, and Bobby Lashley are amongst those far more worthy right now in terms of needing something different!

And that was part one of some of the most annoying things going on in the WWE right now! Part two of this blog post will be uploaded next week so keep an eye out for that, however, you can let me know what is frustrating you right now by leaving a comment below or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria 😊
