Five NXT Stars Tyler Breeze Should Face Upon Possible Full Time Return

Last week the WWE posted a YouTube Video and an Instagram post showing Tyler Breeze making a return to NXT during a live event. While I was surprised to see him back where everything started I must admit that I was damn pleased for him. This may seem like a huge step backward but there is no denying that since his main roster debut Breeze has gone nowhere but further down the ladder. As of right now, we don’t know exactly where the WWE is going with Tyler but if he is to stay down in NXT (the decision I’m hoping for) who should the gorgeous one challenge? Here is a list of just five current NXT stars I would love to see Breeze step in the ring with over on the black and Yellow brand.

Johnny Gargano

While a full-on feud isn’t something greatly desired between Tyler Breeze and Johnny Gargano a one on one contest is a must! It’s evident the styles the two poses would massively compliment one another. Both extremely confident performers the pair have proven during their separate NXT runs that they are very much gifted in-ring performers. Without a big storyline, it’s clear these two superstars could deliver a must-see match that could go on to be noted as a highlight of the year. Not to mention an opponent like Gargano would be a great starting point for Breeze and an excellent way for him to remind everyone of just how good he is.

EC3

If I’m being honest I’ve been rather disappointed with how the WWE has used EC3 since his return to the company a few months back and does make me worry a bit. A true all-around superstar I’m hoping the WWE know how to get things right this second time around. Looking towards the future EC3 needs a standout storyline and match that puts him much higher on the roster and Tyler Breeze can give him exactly that. Both confident characters they both think extremely highly of themselves and this creates a natural clash of personalities. There are similarities in their career stories and that adds to why this would be so must. Great character and storyline work are most certainly sure to be a thing here, but the in-ring performances would be so strong there wouldn’t truly feel as though there was a loser. This is a rivalry and match that could both save and elevate both these superstars.

Tommaso Ciampa

One of my personal favourite wrestlers and WWE superstars right now is, of course, Tommaso Ciampa, I barely have a bad word to say about him! Week in and week out the guy is just delivering to an extremely high standard and that’s something I see going anywhere any time soon. It’s clear Ciampa could be apart of so many dream matches but for me, I would love to see him clash with the Gorgeous one, Tyler Breeze. A massive difference in character it could be difficult to create true chemistry and a storyline that greatly grabs the attention of fans, however, their in-ring work is what truly will have fans up off their seats. Both Ciampa and Breeze are excellent performers and extremely strong pro wrestlers making it so obvious the pair would work a killer match up.

Ricochet

Again, if I’m being honest, I haven’t been blown away by the work from Ricochet since his arrival in WWE NXT. I’m confident that as time goes by he will only grow more and more, and the future is extremely bright for him. He’s, of course, had some standout matches and there is no doubt in my mind that a clash with Mr. Tyler Breeze would make for another to add to the list. There are a lot of differences between these two, but their experience, style, and sheer in-ring talent make for one heck of a must-see. This is a match we’re very unlikely to ever get on the main roster and knowing full well the amount of time these two would get down in NXT it just adds to why I want to see this match take place here so badly!

Velveteen Dream

There probably isn’t anyone on the current NXT roster I would love to see Tyler Breeze step in the ring within one on one action more than the Velveteen Dream. The pair are massively similar not only in character but in careers. What we have been seeing from Dream over the past year is exactly the standard we were seeing from Breeze and of course that all changed once he moved over to the main roster. Many including myself fear the Dream will follow in the footsteps of the gorgeous one and while I like to believe I’m wrong you just can’t trust the WWE with talent like him right now. However, if Breeze is set to spend more time on the black and yellow brand then there is no denying these two must collide. Breeze would be sporting a slightly different role than before and here his job would, in fact, be to put over Velveteen but that doesn’t mean he can’t shine too. Putting this pair in the ring together means guaranteed magic and a sure highlight match of the year. Dreams character would work a feud with Breeze massively taunting him about his failed main roster run and a clash at Takeover Brooklyn would make for a true must see and show stealer.

The unfortunate turn of events the career of Tyler Breeze saw was extremely disappointing. Throughout his NXT career, we saw him grow more and more as time went by and he established himself as one of the best on the roster and a highlight star of the future of the WWE. Going back to NXT does seem to be a little frustrating considering what could have been but with his history in the brand being so strong and the current roster looking the way it does this could very easily be the best decision the WWE have made for Breeze in a very very long time.
