Six More Wrestlemania 35 Matches I Want to See

The road to Wrestlemania has well and truly begun with Becky Lynch and Seth Rollins winning their respective Royal Rumble matches and earning a championship bout against Ronda Rousey and Brock Lesnar but what about the rest of the card? With the rest of the WWE roster set to kick start their Wrestlemania rivalries in today’s blog post, I’m going to be looking at my dream Wrestlemania card for this year. Remember, these are simply my own opinions and what I personally want to see not entirely what I think will be booked!

Drew McIntyre VS John Cena

On the night of the Royal Rumble PPV, it was revealed that John Cena could not compete in the men’s Rumble match due to an injury sustained at the hands of Drew McIntyre, the man the WWE have been pushing as the one to watch for months! While the Scottish psychopath has recently found an alliance with Baron Corbin and appears to be moving away from the main event scene (for now) how he is booked at this year's Mania event is vital in allowing him to come across as a legit badass coming for the top spot and with a story already built between him and Cena the Mania booking seems clear here. McIntyre needs a big match and a big win at the grandest stage of them all and Cena could be the perfect man to give him just that.

Banks & Bayley vs Trish and Lita

This may be a dream match and to many, a touch far fetched but looking at rumours surfacing over the last few months and the current look of the women’s division it wouldn’t be crazy to suggest Banks and Bayley vs Trish and Lita taking place at this years Wrestlemania main event. In my head, I do want to see all members of the four horsewomen standing tall with WWE gold (to build a much bigger storyline) and apart of that image is seeing Banks and Bayley holding the Women’s tag team titles. Favourites to win at the Elimination Chamber it wouldn’t surprise fans to see the pair spend the rest of Mania season as the champs and what a dream match would it make to see the pair stand toe to toe against Trish and Lita in a match that has been rumoured for the mania card for months!

Daniel Bryan vs Bray Wyatt

While I’m loving everything, the WWE is doing with Daniel Bryan as of right now when I was writing this list I realised that there really aren’t many options in terms of opponents for Bryan at this year’s Mania PPV. I could have picked one of the not many options of current Smackdown LIVE competitors but upon taking notes it was clear that Bray Wyatt was the overall favourite. Despite not making a return to WWE TV just yet many fans are discussing this dream match taking place at Mania in April. The two have previously been apart of some epic encounters and with their history, Rowan's involvement and the change in Bryans character this would be one awesome match up not to mention how good the new title will look on Wyatt!

Dean Ambrose vs Triple H

Despite the announcement that Dean Ambrose will be leaving the WWE following Wrestlemania this year there is still the job of booking him in a match on the card and after a verbal confrontation with Triple H on a recent episode of Monday night RAW fans are desperate to see the pair collide on the grandest stage of them all in what could be Ambrose’s last WWE match. The pair has great chemistry, have previously worked a solid in-ring contest and have a history and striking characters that make for one heck of a showdown and what could be huge in Ambrose’s final months with the company.

Rey Mysterio vs Samoa Joe vs Mustafa Ali vs Andrade Cien Almas

Moving over to a total dream match that I can’t see happening but would love to see, a fatal four way for the United States Championship. The US title scene may be a little… all over the place at the moment and generally one big mess but with the Smackdown LIVE roster so strong it most certainly can be saved. With the right names in the picture, we could see one awesome United States Championship match. In the coming weeks, I would love to see Andrade Cien Almas find himself easing into the US title scene to eventually take the championship from R-truth eventually setting up this dream fatal four way consisting of some of the best stars on the roster today. All of these names deserve to be on the Mania card and there is no doubt in my mind this could go down as one of the best matches of the year if booked!

Asuka vs Charlotte Flair

And the final match I want to talk about today is a singles bout that many are expecting to happen at Mania this year, Asuka vs Charlotte Flair for the Smackdown LIVE Women’s Championship. I know rumours are strong in regard to Charlotte joining the Rousey/Lynch match up but I have already expressed on social media that this isn’t something I want to see! I really do want Lynch to have her moment in the spotlight and for this singles bout to finally go ahead! With that in mind, Charlotte, of course, needs to be on the Mania card and the next best option for her may just be another Mania contest against Asuka. The two went one on one last year at the grandest stage of them all but with Asuka yet to pin or submit Flair there is a strong story to go on here and we know through their history in the ring together that these two women can put on one heck of a match up!

Finn Balor vs AJ Styles (RAW VS Smackdown LIVE Special)

One thing I really want to see booked at this years Wrestlemania event is a RAW vs Smackdown LIVE special. A one on one contest between a chosen Smackdown LIVE talent and a talent from Monday night RAW and what better two men than AJ Styles to represent the Blue brand and Finn Balor for RAW. Both men are in a tricky position heading into Mania with neither set to be in the title picture, yet fans still want to see both men heavily and greatly shown on the grandest stage of them all. This special contest will bring back the RAW vs Smackdown LIVE vibe the shows have been missing since the McMahon takeover and there may be no better way to get both men on the card this year.

And those are just a few more extra matches I want to see on this years Wrestlemania card. There are of course more matches I want to talk about but this is the list for today and I would love to know what matches you guys would add!
