The Five Women Leading the Next Chapter of the WWE Women's Evolution

Last year fans witnessed the WWE take their women’s evolution to brand new height! More history was made seeing the division get involved in more first evers including the first ever all women’s Royal Rumble (which main evented the PPV) along with the first Elimination Chamber, the Last Woman Standing match, and the first ever all women’s pay per view. In twenty nineteen fans still have much to look forward to but with a whole new batch of superstars making an impact in today’s blog post we are going to be looking at five new leaders of the women’s evolution and who we should be keeping a close eye on over the next twelve months.

Toni Storm

Over the past year, in particular, the wrestling world has been buzzing over Australian star, Toni Storm. Taking part in the first ever Mae Young Classic in twenty seventeen Storm and her talent was showcased in front of a worldwide audience and after a year of growing on the scene, even more, she made a return to a WWE ring last year in the second MYC which she would go on to win the entire wrestling community is obsesse4d with all things Storm. Twenty eighteen was an incredible year for Toni making a major impact on WWE ground and the next year promises to be even greater. Paving the way for a whole new generation Storm will sure continue to draw great attention to the NXT UK Women’s division and with more NXT work on the horizon and main roster talent expressing interest in working matches against Toni she is a sure leader as we enter a new chapter in the women’s evolution.

Bianca Belair

A current NXT star who also has fans excited is, of course, Bianca Belair. The hybrid talent has shown to be comfortable on the top rope, is not shy of adding brutality to her bouts, and her power and strength most certainly have not gone unnoticed. It’s evident the WWE are high on Belair with booking remaining smart and strong throughout the past year leaving fans to believe amazing things are waiting around the corner for this up and coming star! Future dream opponents include the likes of Charlotte Flair and with her character so strong collisions with the likes of Sasha Banks make for big-time must- sees! Belair is an epic all-around talent with still plenty more to show and this year looks to be very exciting for her.

Chelsea Green

One of the biggest and best signings to come from last year in my personal opinion was without a doubt Chelsea Green. When the news broke of her signing an NXT contract in the Autumn of twenty eighteen, I was buzzing! Green has been apart of several standout matches across the indie scene including a standout over in Lucha Underground against Pentagon Dark. After working for several promotions and creating a gripping character easy to invest in Chelsea has become one of the most exciting prospects in women’s wrestling today and her WWE career promises to be very exciting! Fans can expect to see Green make her arrival for NXT  TV this year and when she does an array of dream matches and storyline’s await as she Is sure to add character, depth, and standout matches to a growing Evolution taking a movement to much greater heights than they already sit at.

Mia Yim

Another huge signing that took place last year was Mia Yim. After taking part In the Mae Young Classic and having an epic and memorable performance Yim was finally signed to the WWE kick-starting her NXT career in the Autumn of twenty eighteen. Fast forward to January and Mia remains one of the most exciting prospects on the roster. Already taking part in epic bouts including a one on one against Bianca Belair she has got the NXT universe buzzing and everyone is very much confident she is indeed not only a future champion but leader in the Evolution. Experience and likability on her side fans are rooting for Mia to have a successful run with the WWE and with such a strong start there is no denying she is a major superstar to keep your eyes on this year!

Killer Kelly

And to conclude today’s blog post I want to focus my attention on the NXT UK scene once again looking at Killer Kelly. Back in September and October, I did mention Kelly in a few blog posts after she massively impressed me in her first round match up against Mieko Satomura and since then I have been left very much excited to see more from her! Working as part of the NXT UK brand Killer Kelly is an interesting talent very much different from the rest of the female talent on the roster. Her skill, style, character and what she brings to the tables differ greatly from what everyone else is showing and seeing her make such an impact so early in her career has me very excited! She’s a woman not many are talking about at the moment but I’m confident that the more we see of her this year the bigger her fan base will grow and wrestling fans will really begin to see just how much of a big-time talent she is with bags of potential!

The WWE women’s division is forever growing and with so many signings taking place last year and so many more women sure to arrive on the scene eventually the Evolution is only growing! The five women we spoke about today stood out greatly for being new leaders of the next chapter in the women’s Evolution and I’m excited to see what they all bring to the table!
