Passing the Torch to Bray Wyatt

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well. We are only four weeks away from the biggest pay per view of the year, Wrestlemania thirty one and so far the card is shaping up to be pretty awesome. One match that is yet to be made official but is defiantly in the works is Bray Wyatt VS The Undertaker. In my opinion, this is a dream match. On the one hand we have my current favourite wrestler and on the other we have one of my all time faves in the Undertaker. The idea of the two going one on one is very split with one side of the WWE universe all for it and the other not so much. Today's post is going to be talking about what I personally think of a match between the two, how important it is for Bray Wyatt and why passing the torch on to Wyatt is key in keeping that haunting feeling in the WWE. As usual you can let me know what you think by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria. I will also link bellow any recent post including my top twenty matches of the month and my top fifteen superstars of the month. Right, let's get into the post.

Just a little reminder: I'm not going to go too into detail in this post because I will mention a lot here in my prediction post for Wyatts Wrestlemania match.

Since arriving on the WWE main roster, Bray Wyatt has dominated the roster and has been in some of the best feuds of the past five or so years and has competed with some of the top stars in the company. After only being here just under two years, when you look at Wyatt has done you can't help but raise an eye brow. At only twenty seven years old, Wyatt has stepped in the ring with names such as John Cena, Kane and Daniel Bryan, being in some of the best matches the company has produced. To that list he has one of the top matches of twenty fourteen when as part of the Wyatt family he took on the Shield in a wining fight. He also dominated he's first Royal Rumble performance. With such amazing wrestling ability you would think that he may not shine as much in other areas but this could not be more wrong. Since being in the WWE (as Bray Wyatt) he has proven time and time again he is one of the best speakers the WWE has ever had. Providing the fans with weekly haunting, disturbing and most importantly outstanding promo's and have such a captivating, unique, character, he has become one of the most interesting, entertaining, most must see superstars of this generation.

We then have the Undertaker. Without a doubt one of the most popular, talented, and haunting professional wrestlers of all time. Whether your a fan of pro wrestling or not, everyone know's who the Undertaker is and what he does. He has arguably, the most captivating, dramatic, gripping and entertaining characters of all time. He's also one of the best performers at the grandest stage of them all, with an amazing 21-1 streak. When you really think about, twenty one years of competing and winning every single Wrestlemania match given to him, is just phenomenal to say the very least! Over the years the Undertaker has competed with some of the best of the best and has been in some of the greatest, most memorable storyline's, matches and feuds of all time.

With so much in common, just by looking at two images of these two superstars you know for a fact they could put on of the best matches and storyline's in the history of the WWE and professional wrestling as a whole. Now, there is never any "replacing" a WWE superstar, so don't get confused when I talk about passing the torch. There's no way what so ever am I saying that Bray Wyatt should/ will replace the Undertaker but what I am saying is when Taker finally gives up he's boots and makes it clear he is done as an in ring competitor, there is a space on the roster for something that only a certain character can fill. Someone who can be that dark, haunting, scary, captivating superstar who does stuff in the ring that you just don't see anybody else do. Bray Wyatt is the perfect man to fill that gap. The thing with Wyatt is he's so marketable. There's so much you could do with him creatively and he just keeps on giving. It's not like he lacks in a certain area. He delivers to a high stand whether that be on the mic, in the ring or with he's character. He's the type of guy the WWE can trust to put all their faith in know he will put on outstanding matches week after week. He's the man that they can
count on to save a show, to have the match of the night just in case the main event doesn't live up to the expectations. The fact he has only been on the main roster for a couple of years and has done what he has done and not even held a title yet is just amazing in itself and is even more proof that he is the man for the job, the perfect person to pass the torch on to.

When it comes down to the work between the two in itself, the supernatural psychology and character means that the two could build a seriously, intense, gripping, entertaining storyline/feud heading into Wrestlemania. From the moment Wyatt cut the first promo on Taker we were all gripped and so far in the Storyline, Wyatt has delivered some of he's best mic work to date and trust me that is saying something! What is so great about Wyatt is that he has proven over the time he has been in the WWE that even though he's booking hasn't been great, he knows how to work and most importantly sell he's supernatural gimmick, something he can relate to with the Undertaker greatly. He has proven he is worth the hype and the fans love him because of he's character and talent, once again just like the Undertaker. As I have already said, Taker has the most memorable and successful characters of all time ad manages to this day, grip and entertain all different types of fans, Whether they are young or old, male or female, everyone loves what he does and what he is all about. Another thing they have in common is entrances. Of course, in my opinion no one can top Taker, considering he has had some of the most outstanding entrances of all time but Wyatt is defiantly giving the legend a run for a money and with more money, time and effort put into he's entrance I think he could do down in history for the same thing.Together, a feud between the two would see some of the best mic work/promos/segments, match and entrances of all time.

Now, I understand why this match is very fifty/fifty with the WWE universe. Everyone, including myself has wanted to see Undertaker VS Sting for as long as they can remember and the fact that Sting is now in WWE and competing at Wrestlemania means that there are a lot of angry fans asking the question of why they are not getting their dream match. I can one hundred per cent understand the anger but I also one hundred percent understand where the WWE are coming from and what they want to do. While a match between the two icons would be amazing and full-fill everyone's childhood dream the reality of it is is that Sting isn't going to be around as long as Bray Wyatt, and when Taker does leave we need someone to past the torch onto and become the face of fear. That man is Bray Wyatt. At on twenty seven, he has such a long future ahead of him and even though Taker VS Sting would be one of the most must watched, rated matches of all time, the WWE need to think ahead, and think about the twenty year future ahead of them. A win over the Undertaker would mean that we have a new face of fear, someone who can go one to try and achieve as much as Taker has. As a business decision this is a great move and makes the most sense. The one problem I do have however, is the fact that the streak is over. The fact that Brock Lesnar ended the streak last year almost gives the Wyatt/Undertaker that feeling of it not being important, that there's no point in the match happening and Wyatt has next to nothing to gain.If Taker was 22-0 than it would of made much more sense and the match would of been much more, must see quality. It would of allowed Wyatt to really prove he is the new face of fear and would of really allowed the torch to be passed on to him. That's the one thing I don't really get at the moment. I mean, what good does it do for the Undertaker having him loose two years in a row?

When it comes to finding the man to defeat the Undertaker, that man has to be red hot right now on the roster, and to be honest Wyatt is on fire, looking stronger than ever. Over the past year he has
scored a win over John Cena and Chris Jericho, has been in some of the best matches of the year including getting a win over fan favourite Daniel Bryan at last years Royal Rumble and having an impressive Rumble debut, eliminating six superstars and lasting an amazing 46 minuets and 59 seconds in the Royal. He's one of the top heels in the company and has been for the past two years. He has a brutal in ring style and can match almost any competitor in the ring. One other problem a lot fans have when it comes to this match is the age difference. At Wrestlemania thirty  one, Taker will be 50 years old and Wyatt will only be twenty seven. As much as I hate to admit it, Taker isn't the worker he used to be in the ring, however has managed to learn how to sell a story ten times better. What I will give Wyatt is that he history is a lot safer than that of Brock Lesnar, he's style is a lot less brutal, more controlled and less dangerous. The best way they can bring back the Undertaker into the WWE is the line of redemption and proving once and for all he is the true face of fear and no one, not even Bray Wyatt can replace him and that he is not lost he's touch. To be fair at 27, Wyatt could take a loss and with a solid performance against the legend but to be honest It would make things even more pointless. It's now about building the future and Bray Wyatt is that future, passing the torch on to him is the best move, can they do that with or without a loss?
