WWE NXT Review and Reactions

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good. I'm back today with this weeks NXT Review and reactions post. Last night saw another strong episode of NXT. A couple of new arrivals, future matches booked, and a fantastic main event to close the night all contributed to another great edition of NXT. This is a brand that keeps on getting better and better and stronger and stronger as the weeks go by and last night really did show that. Next week will finally have a number one contender as Samoa Joe and Sami Zayn go one on one in a two out of three falls match, a match Zayn in particular is no stranger to. So meet me back her same time, next Thursday for my NXT Review and Reactions. As for now, you can let me know what you thought of last nights show by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria. As always I will link bellow any recent blog post including last weeks NXT Review and this weeks RAW Review and Reactions. Just a little update, I have started pre posting for my Wrestlemania predictions and so I can announce prediction week will finally be making a comeback! Yay!

This week's episode of NXT kick started with some tag team action as the Vaudevillians took on the debuting Hugo Knox and Tucker Night. If you have been following me for long enough you will have seen me talk about Hugo Knox on several occasions, hyping he's debut. I have been one of many that have seriously been anticipating he's NXT TV debut and last night it finally took place. In all honesty I have only seen bits and pieces of Hugo in the ring but he was very impressive last night. He may not have got much but he dominated the first couple of minuets of this match and was very easy on the eye. Regardless of he's loss last night I'm certain that he bound to have an amazing career both in NXT and the WWE Main roster. He has a great look and is actually for a big guy very very impressive in the ring and I cannot wait to see more of him as the months go by. Tucker Night on the other hand had something to him and worked well at rallying on the crowd but I'm going to have to see more of him before I make any big decisions on him. I am a huge fan of the Vaudevillians. I think they work great as both heels and baby faces. I do believe that there time in NXT is slowly coming to an end, they feel ready for the main roster, it's just about waiting for the right time to give them the call up and that could be a thew months to come. Last night Aiden English and Simon Gotch took out their frustrations on the two new guys setting out to send a message to the NXT Tag team division that they were back with a new attitude and a rougher style than before. The former NXT Tag team champions worked  extremely well together, kick and punching their way to a victory witch came about after a very well executed whirling Dervish on the three hundred and twenty pounder in Tucker Night. It's great seeing the Vaudevillians build momentum back up again and something different is just what they needed.

Last night saw Santana Garret maker her second NXT temperance. It was several weeks back that the former TNA Knockout took on Asuka at full sail university and last night she stepped into the ring against a new opponent in Emma. I'm a fan of Santana. I didn't like much of her work in TNA but when you look at what she has done on the independent scene around the world you cannot take away the fact that she is a brilliant all round in ring performer. I said it in the last review she featured in that I would love to see her officially join the NXT Roster. She would be an amazing asset to the NXT Women's division. She is exactly what fans like to see in female competitor and has the skill and character to last a very long time in the highly competitive NXT Women's division. Last night Santana had the crowd completely behind her. The arena echoed with chants backing Garrett and she put up a great fight against Emma. However the Australian grappler was able to use her nasty, vicious style to gain solid control of this match up for a great deal of time. She yanked on the hair of Garrett feeding her some vicious strikes throughout. Despite the comebacks from Santana and the crowd support playing a role in building the adrenaline in Santana Emma and Dana's plan to bend the rules when needed led to Emma scoring yet another victory when she forced Garrett to tap out in the centre of the ring. I actually really really enjoyed this match. I thought it was very well put together, Dana played her role perfectly, both competitors played the crowd and the wrestling was solid with both women showcasing a vicious side to their move sets. Give these two fifteen minuets and they could put on something very very strong.

A backstage segment between Nia Jax, Eva Marie, and William Regal saw the general manger set up a future tag team match for Eva and Nia against NXT Women's champion Bayley and one of the most dominate women to ever step foot in the WWE, Asuka.

A week ago general manager William Regal announced backstage that this week we would see a new superstar make their arrival in NXT and last night Regal stood in the middle of the ring beaming as he introduced one of the hottest free age nets in the world as the latest member of the NXT Roster, Austin Aries. The arena completely exploded when Austin Aries made he's much anticipated NXT debut. Despite the rumours before he's arrival and the videos I had seen on Twitter and YouTube several weeks back of the debut I honestly had goosebumps all over at this moment last night it's a feeling that only wrestling fans will really understand but honestly I marked out last night just as much as I did the night I saw the videos and heard the news when it took place live. As one of the biggest stars in the pro wrestling scene made he's way to greet general Manager William Regal in the middle of the ring the moment turnt sour very quickly as Aries was attacked from behind by the loan wolf, Baron Corbin. Bravo! Fucking bravo! I watched this last night, unaware that this actually happened on the night was clapping at my lap top screen. The entire world knows I am a major Corbin fan and this last night was perfect. I now there were a thew people that saw this and were baffled as to why on earth he would come out and destroy Aries moment but its simple; Corbin warned Regal that he would regret not giving him another chance at the NXT Championship and we all know about Barons issues with Indie stars coming in and taking the spotlight straight away, so in my eyes this made perfect sense and I loved it. The attack was done so so well, I can't fault it what so ever. Corbin was completely ruthless and didn't hold back or show Aries any mercy what so ever. He let everyone know what he was capable of and made sure the world and more importantly William Regal knew that he was one of the most destructive and dangerous men in NXT who knows how to hold a grudge. When I looked at the response on twitter to this I was actually left very happy. I strongly believe that Corbin has done it. He has really started to win over the NXT Universe. This was such a brilliant heel move and so well done and I do think that people are slowly starting to grow on Corbin. It's about damn time too.

Elias Samson drifted he's way back into the squared ring this week when he took on Steve Culter in one on one action. I don't know. I have tried really really hard to like Elias but I just can't. He's matches for me are bathroom break worthy and I don't see anything truly special in him. I know there are some people that absolutely love him but I'm not seeing the hype at all. I find him boring and it a real effort to get into he's matches. I'm not completely sure what the long term direction for Elias is but at the moment he seems to working the aggressive, slightly barbaric and kinda crazy gimmick. If they work really hard on pushing these elements of he's character than you could get something pretty decent in Elias Samson but at the moment it's a working progress to say the least and he really does need to start winning the crowd and the general NXT Fan base. In he's match last night he was completely dominate and actually busted open Culter and in the end picked up yet another victory.

With Finn Balor closing in on becoming the longest reining NXT Champion last night he took on the man who currently holds the record, Adrian Neville in what was a brilliant main event match up. Before the action could even begin the arena was filled with "This is awesome" chants and the atmosphere truly was electric. This was the showing of two all time NXT greats and to of the hottest, talented, and popular superstars in the history of NXT. The two superstars have met in the ring before and know each other very very well and throughout this match this became very very clear as the early stages of this match saw both superstars struggle to gain the upper hand/ advantage. Neville eventually was able to gain control of this match when he backed the champ in the corner and worked on taking away all the momentum of Balor. Showing why he is one of the best talents to come out of NXT Neville dominated most of this match with suplex after suplex, strike after strike, high risk after high risk and not to mention the brilliant selling time and time again throughout this match that really played a massive role in the bout. Neville made sure he was the main attraction and gave Balor a true run for he's money reminding the champ that if he wanted to prove he was the best NXT Champion holder of all time than he was going to have to put on the fight of he's life in this match. Balor however had he's own impressive arsenal to show off and he did so amazingly well in this match
taking it to Neville throwing he's best moves out to work he's way up to a victory. A well placed pele kick to the high flyer was the first steps in Balor regaining control of this match up and from then was able to mount back a comeback. Sending Neville out of the ring the champ proved he also can take it high risk launching himself over the top rope smashing into the Slammy award winner. The closing moments of this brilliant match saw Finn turn Neville inside out in a perfectly executed clothesline following up with Coup de grace and a huge DDT to score the win. This was was a phenomenal match up and as far as match of the year goes in the early stages of twenty sixteen this is the one to top in my eyes. It was a brilliant way for Neville to showcase to everyone who has been upset with how he has been used on the main roster that regardless, as some point he will play a huge part in the future of the company as he cements himself as one of the best in the WWE today. It was great seeing the two stars show respect to one another after the bout. A great consistent story was told throughout this match and I have a feeling this is going to be one we all are left talking about for months and months to come.
