NXT Calls Ups that Must Happen in 2018

Hello everyone! Welcome back to Talk Wrestling World and of course happy new year! I cannot believe we are at the start of yet another year but in all honesty, I'm glad to be leaving twenty seventeen in the past and I'm very much looking forward to this brand new year and another twelve months full of hard work, adventures and new beginnings. It does sound very cliche but I'm feeling very optimistic about two thousand and eighteen and I'm super excited for what is to come! Now, it is the first of January and I have a brand new blog post for you and the start of a new mini-series that will only be taking place this month as we will solely be focusing on predictions for the year ahead. This will include Stars to watch, early Wrestlemania predictions, and twenty eighteen WWE Wishes. I've been pre-posting for the past month and I have plenty of new content and ideas coming your way! Today, in particular, we will be focusing on NXT and some of the stars I believe must be called up to the main roster within the next twelve months! Some of these superstars most likely should have been added to either RAW or Smackdown LIVE a long time before now but regardless will be included in this post! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked below including everything from of the year season! I will, of course, be live tweeting throughout any and all up and coming wrestling shows and finally, you can let me know which NXT stars you would like to see join the main roster in two thousand and eighteen or you can drop me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria.

Andrade Cien Almas

Two thousand and seventeen was a huge year for Andrade Cien Almas. After spending so much of his time in NXT putting over bigger names and working a series of fantastic matches against a number of different stars Andrade was finally given the big push he more than deserved. With Zelina Vega by his side, Almas was put on the right path and the WWE had him heading the direction they should have gone with him from the start. After shocking the NXT universe defeating Drew McIntyre at the last Takeover event of the year he became the latest NXT Champion. Since his shock win Andrade has kept up the momentum and remains a strong part of the NXT roster, however, after spending so long down in developmental it's now time to start thinking about his main roster run. While he still has plenty to do and achieve as champion down in NXT its evident that by the middle point of the year he should competing as part of either the RAW or Smackdown LIVE roster. For me personally, I do feel as though the blue brand is the right place for him and Zelina and regardless of when he is called up I'm confident that this year is sure to be a damn strong one for the Lucha Libre star.

Peyton Royce & Billie Kay

When it comes to female NXT talent we need to see up on the main roster in twenty eighteen there are no two names that spring to mind before Peyton Royce and Billie Kay. Their main roster call up should if without shadow of a doubt taken place much much sooner with both women clearly ready for the bigger stage but with their popularity at an all-time high and the women's Royal Rumble pending I don't doubt for a single second the two Australian talents will be joining either RAW or Smackdown LIVE very very soon. Personally, I would vote to keep Billie and Peyton together going over at the same time and joining the same brand. While both women are working strong characters, both over and both amazingly talented all on their own when these two work together it just clicks and their chemistry is just fantastic. If we consider a future Women's tag team division these two spring to mind first. Petyon and Billie have done so much and brought so much to the women's division down in NXT and it's more than time for them to go up to the bigger stage and make their presence known and felt up on either RAW or Smackdown LIVE.

Drew McIntyre

While he may be currently on the injured list we, of course, have to include former NXT Champion Drew McIntyre in this blog post today! Returning to the WWE last year McIntyre made a huge impact when he proved just how wasted he was during his previous run with the company. A new role in the WWE, Drew grabbed every opportunity and the WWE itself didn't hold back in pushing the former IC Champion to the top. After defeating Bobby Roode to become the NXT Champion McIntyre found himself at the top of the game and the man to beat. However, when defending his title against Andrade Cien Almas at the last takeover event, McIntyre suffered an injury that will see him out of action for months to come. With his return date set to take place later on in the year, it's clear that upon that return he should make his arrival on either RAW or Smackdown LIVE. There would be no point wasting any more time with him down in NXT and I'm sure the original plan was to have him up on the main roster for two thousand and eighteen anyway. McIntyre would be a brilliant fit for either RAW or Smackdown LIVE and I'm super excited to see what the WWE do with him when he joins either brand at some point this year.

The Authors of Pain

More than anyone featuring on this list the Authors of Pain need to go up to the main roster. Whether it be RAW or Smackdown LIVE these guys must be given their call-up in twenty eighteen. AOP has been leading the tag team division down in NXT competing in a number of truly epic matches that have highlighted them as one of the best tag teams on the scene today. Their call-up is long overdue like many on this list today and when they are given the push to the bigger stages these guys will most certainly dominate and change the game of the tag team division raising the bar once again.

Aleister Black

Up next is another obvious pick but one that of course had to be included' Aleister Black has been one of the biggest names and main attractions in the WWE throughout the past year and with only twelve months as part of the company he already has become such a popular name. Listed as one of the standout NXT stars of the year, Black has grown to become one of NXT's biggest stars and in twenty eighteen I'm for sure expecting to see him join the main roster. Of course, he hasn't been apart of the NXT roster for as long as the likes of the Iconic Duo and Andrade Cien Almas and I would love to see him work as NXT Champion at some point this year but his character is something that is desperately needed in the WWE particularly on the main roster. He's one of the most relatable and current stars in the WWE today and the potential for what he could be doing as part of either RAW or Smackdown LIVE is huge and of course very very exciting! Collisions with the likes of Seth Rollins, Finn Balor, and AJ Styles are a must just as much as feuds and storyline's with names such as Matt Hardy, Bray Wyatt and more and all of that is something I and so many others really want to see take place at some point this year.

Ember Moon

Up next is another female talent in Ember Moon. The current NXT Women's champion has hade quite the WWE journey so far. Arriving on the scene as one of the hottest and most promising attractions, Moon continued to rais the bar in terms of women's wrestling. Late last year Ember finally reached the top capturing the NXT women's championship and remains the dominant force in the NXT Women's divison. She has, however, been apart of the roster for quite some time and throughout twenty seventeen I was honestly waiting and expecting her to be moved up to RAW and Smackdown LIVE. She's made her way through the women of NXT and has earned the right to be listed as an NXT all-time great but her time in NXT is running out even with the title on her shoulder and in order to stay at this level she needs to move up to the main roster within the next year!

Sanity

And finally, we have Sanity. Anyone that knows me knows that I've been a huge Sanity mark from day one. The faction made up of Nikki Cross, Eric Young, Alexander Wolf, and Killian Dane is an original idea that just works. These guys play crazy perfectly and have been a huge part of NXT for the past year and a half to two years. Working brilliantly together the chemistry between these four stars is one that cannot be denied. The past year saw Sanity climb to the top of the tag team division, capture gold and standout as both a team and individual stars. With achieving so much in the WWE developmental territory it's now time to take a look at their future and the main roster run that awaits them very soon! A part of me did expect these guys to be up on either RAW or Smackdown LIVE before now but after seeing them doing so much this year the timing has just worked perfectly and now looking ahead it's clear that within the next twelve months these guys all need to move up. The main roster desperately needs more factions and these guys are the perfect, fresh, new and exciting thing that is needed. These guys are very different and bringing something new to the table and their character and the whole vibe is something that really is going to work great up on the main roster! The longer they stay in NXT from this point the more damage likely to be made.

And that wraps up today's blog post! I had so much fun writing this and I would love to know your thoughts so feel free to leave a comment bellow or tweet me over at @TezangiVictoria telling me which NXT Stars you want to see make their main roster debut this year!
