Top 10 WWE Superstars to Watch in 2018 Part 2

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had an awesome week so far! Throughout the first two weeks of January, I'm planning on taking a look at early year predictions. It's here I will discuss some of the matches, feuds, the storyline's I want to take place this year as well as stars to watch and NXT Call-ups to expect also. Most of these posts have been pre-posted so there may be some dated facts but all of that will be edited and notes in each of those posts will be made clear to allow things to make sense. Now, today we're going to be focusing on one of my favorite annual posts I write here on my blog and that's counting down the superstars I believe we should all be watching in the year ahead. I write this post every single January and it's a fun little way to take a look at some of the stars I believe could be big time standouts in the year ahead. Two thousand and eighteen looks to be a very interesting year for pro wrestling with new faces joining the WWE and the women's division forever climbing to new heights so there really is a lot to look forward to! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including everything from of the year season last month! Finally, you can get involved and let me know who you believe we should be watching this year by leaving a comment bellow or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria.

Carmella

Two thousand and eighteen was yet another year full of huge milestones for the women's division. Finally given a Money in the Bank ladder match the female talent of Smackdown LIVE made history and pushed the women's revolution to a whole new level. On the night it was Carmella who walked out the first ever Miss money in the bank wining twice in twenty-four hours. Yet to cash she remains one of the most interesting factors in the Smackdown LIVE women's division. Teasing a cash in more than once everyone is now awaiting the moment she finally does so and makes history in the process. Personally, I do think she is going to have a successful cash in when it finally happens but as to when that is something that continues to be a guessing game. A night like the Royal Rumble, Wrestlemania or the Smackdown LIVE after Wrestlemania are obvious picks and times that would really stand out, however, regardless of when she cashes in it is bound to be a standout moment of the year and with a potential title run two thousand and eighteen looks to be very strong for Carmella who really is forever improving in every aspect.

The Revival

Last year was an up and down year for the Revival. Continuing their dominance as part of the NXT Tag team division they moved over to the main roster after Wrestlemania but things didn't go to plan. A string of injuries left several setbacks and the pair is yet to really kick-start their run on the main roster. However, they are now back from injuries competing on the RAW roster and building their momentum. I don't doubt at all at the WWE will carry on pushing these guys. They have proven themselves to be one of the best tag teams in the world today and the WWE would be stupid to not push these two to the stars. I'm expecting a title run, a Wrestlemania match and several bouts up on the main roster that show the bigger audience just how big and talented these guys really are. This is the year the Revival make their mark on the main roster and I can't wait for it!

Shinsuke Nakamura

I will be the first to admit that I haven't been the biggest fan of Shinsuke Nakamura's work since joining the main roster but he isn't to blame at all. His booking has been extremely poor since he was moved over to Smackdown LIVE and you can really see the change when you think back to what we saw between him and Sami Zayn on his debut night a couple of years back. The WWE have fitted in a couple of decent bouts here and there but nothing that touches his NXT stuff. I am hoping that that changes in the new year. One of the hottest demands is, of course, Nakamura vs Styles and is something I really want to see main event Wrestlemania. This is a match bound to happen at some point this year and it will be this that shows the world the Nakamura we all love. I'm confident twenty eighteen is going to be a far stronger year for Shinsuke. Bigger matches, better booking, and stronger storylines. I'm also expecting to see a WWE Championship reign that's exactly what he needs and deserves.

Shayna Baszler

Making her first in-ring WWE appearance last Summer in the Mae Young Classic, Shayna Baszler made a name for herself in the wrestling world transitioning from MMA when she competed in the finals against Kiari Sane. While she didn't take home the victory come to the end of the tournament she was one of the most impressive and dominant competitors throughout and was signed up just days after the classic concluded. Now set to make her NXT debut very very soon two thousand and eight looks to be the year of the Queen of Spades. Her dominance, MMA background, popularity and sheer intimidation factor sets her apart and it's evident the WWE is high on her. I'm confident that come the end of the year its Baszler we will all be saying had the best all-around year from the women's division and I'm excited to watch her career grow and develop over the next twelve months. Not only is an NXT Women's championship reign highly expected I'm also sure that come the end of the year she will be drafted to either RAW or Smackdown LIVE fitting in a lot in the space of just twelve months. Baszler is an exciting new and different addition to the women's division and ensures that the women's revolution is forever growing.

Velveteen Dream

And finally, we have NXT star Velveteen Dream. Making an impact last year the Velveteen Dream proved back at the last NXT Takeover event that he was more than just a character to invest but a brilliant in-ring performer. His match against Aleister Black was voted my two thousand and seventeen matches of the year and his character has been noted several times as one of my current personal favorites. This year I'm really hoping to see him continue to make an impact and prove himself. Still early in his WWE career, this is an exciting time for him and I'm sure he will be competing in several standout matches throughout the year. I do worry about him and going up to the main roster. He has one of those characters that really is best suited for NXT and will struggle up on the main roster but I do believe that the next twelve months are going to be huge for the Velveteen Dream as the WWE continue to push boundaries with his character and give him time to work matches that will truly highlight him as one of the best up and comers in the business today.

And there we have it! That finishes off my top ten WWE Superstars to watch in two thousand and eighteen. Part one fo this blog post will be linked bellow and as always you can get involved and let me know who you believe we should be watching this year by leaving a comment bellow or by dropping me a tweet over at @TezangiVictoria.
