Surprise Returns We Want to see in the Women's Royal Rumble

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World I hope you are all well and good and have had an awesome start to the week so far! Back in December wrestling fans and women in the wrestling world were given one big Christmas gift when it was announced that the first ever all-female Royal Rumble match will take place at this year's Royal Rumble pay per view later this month! The news was expected with the match being well overdue but with a full women's roster and the space for potential surprises the timing feels just perfect and it's amazing seeing the women's division rise even high and edge closer once again to an equal run to the men. Finally, WrestleMania is starting to feel like an equally big deal for the women and I cannot wait to see what goes down in a couple of weeks time. In the build-up to this pay per view, I will be posting several Royal Rumble based content so keep an eye out for that but in today's blog post we are going to be kick-starting things off with that mini-season focusing on the women's Royal Rumble as I count down surprise returns we want to see take place at the event! In the list, we have a few genuine potential entrants as well as more dream based entrants that I'm going to enjoy pretending could actually happen! I'm going to be uploading a post focusing on NXT stars that could make an appearance as well as debuts and more! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked below and you can let me know who you would like to see return in the Women's Royal Rumble by leaving a comment below or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

Trish Stratus

We kick start today's blog post off with a legend, WWE Hall of Famer, Trish Stratus. One of the greatest female performers in WWE history, Trish Stratus truly is a legend in her own right. A leading face in the original women's evolution, it was her who set the bar for women to follow and inspired many of today's female talent. It has however been quite some time since Trish competed in a match for the WWE but has, of course, made frequent appearances throughout the years. When the news broke of the first ever Women's Royal Ruble, Trish was one of the first names to pop up on social media tweeting her congrats to the division and teasing a return. Now, it seems unlikely but if the WWE wants to give us some surprise entrances and make up the numbers than Trish is the perfect fit. Still in great condition and as we mentioned, a Legend in the damn industry her music hitting would be huge and sure to get the crowd going. The one-off appearance would be amazing and a couple of showdowns with a few old faces (which we will get into later) and current talented that have been compared to her such as Mandy Rose would be brilliant and a sure highlight of the match!

AJ Lee

Okay, so I know this one will never happen and is for sure the most unlikely but for the sheer reason, I've always been a massive AJ  Lee stan I had to include her in this post. Yet another leading face in the women's evolution, AJ Lee was the first women in years to generate a real reaction from the fans. The WWE Universe cared about her and showed an interest and so when she departed with the company a couple of years back it was hard to take especially considering it was evident there was so much more left for her in the WWE. I'm pretty confident there is no chance of seeing AJ Lee make an appearance at the Royal Rumble in a few weeks time but could you imagine just how epic it would be? A showdown between old enemies like Paige and new faces such as Sasha Banks would make for fantastic highlight moments and it's a shame we're likely to never get those kinds of segments.

Gail Kim

Up next is another popular pick in Gail Kim. Let's face it, Gail Kim was never used to her full potential during her time with the WWE with her Impact run proving that. Over in TNA Kim shined bright competing in some of the best female wrestling matches the company and the wrestling scene had seen with several storylines, feuds, and matches going down in history. A hall of Famer of Impact Wrestling, Gail is a pioneer in women's wrestling and it's a shame she was never pushed to the stars by the WWE like she deserved. Only announcing her retirement last year the WWE would be stupid not to do everything in their power to get Kim in this match. More than just a buzz entrance for the crowd to go crazy for Gail is someone who can bring some magic to this match. Her skills are beyond anything and what she could deliver wrestling wise to this match is crazy with spots that could make this one epic match for the women's division.

The Bella Twins

This one may not be as popular of an entrant but it for sure made my list. While the Bella Twins may not be ranked highly on everyone's list they really do make the cut in my book. Okay, so they're not the best in-ring performers in the world but there is no denying they are a huge part of the WWE and the evolution the women's division has seen in recent years. Both currently away from in-ring action, Brie did retire a couple of years back to start a family, however, has made it clear she does have an interest in one day returning to the ring, the Royal Rumble may seem a little too soon but for a one-off special appearance? I say it may just be a possibility. Nikki however, seems far more likely. One of the main names rumored to be making an appearance for the women's Royal Rumble I'm pretty sure most fans are expecting her to show up on the night as an entrant. There haven't been any updates regarding Nikki's return but the Royal Rumble would be a good place for her to start, kick-starting a new mini-feud or simply the one-off appearance before a later full return date.

Lita
Wherever Trish Stratus' name is mentioned you can be sure that Lita's will follow soon after. The two leading faces in the women's revolution these two raised the bar for every woman that followed them and set a high standard. Their rivalry has gone down as an all-time great along with several of their matches. Now, I don't know about you but one last face-off seems like something I would one hundred and ten percent be down for seeing! Lita has a brilliant relationship with the company working for both the Tough Enough team and the female commentator role for the Mae Young Classic. Lita being an entrant would be a massive highlight of the Women's Royal Rumble sure to get the crowd fired up. Looking online she is a popular choice and a name many fans want to see included in this historic match and even if she only has a few minutes in the match it's still an epic moment and one we all would love to see!

Michelle McCool

Throughout twenty seventeen Michelle McCool teased a WWE return online fans predicted and hoped to see the former women's champion make a return for months but it never happened. Teasing a match with Charlotte Flair this became something I kept my eyes on and was left rather disappointed when nothing came of it. When the Women's Royal Rumble was announced Michelle was one of the first names I thought of and wanted to see as an entrant in the match. Looking at some of the names I have mentioned today she doesn't seem like an impossible pick and I know for a fact she would make for a perfect surprise little return entrant that will get a nice little pop from the fans.

Kharma

And finally, the name I have not stopped seeing pop up recently, Kharma. When the Women's Royal Rumble match was announced and made official the name that kept popping up on social media was Kharma especially down to the fact that the WWE had mentioned her return in a recent YouTube Video. She appears to be one of the top names expected to make a return to the company this year and I have to say the buzz and the rumors have me very excited! I always wanted to see more from Kharma during her WWE run and now would be a brilliant time for her to make a return. A showdown with Nia Jax is a must and something else I have seen fans mention a heck of a lot online and the pop in itself when her music hits would make for an awesome moment too. The one name on this list likely to stick around after the Rumble it will be interesting seeing what show she is moved to and collisions with top names such as Sasha Banks and Charlotte make for storyline's I would love to watch especially during the Wrestlemania season. She is exactly what not only this historic match needs but the WWE women's division right now. Just imagine Nia Jax clearing the ring of talent for Kharma's music to hit and a showdown to take place! Ah that bloody excites me!

And that finishes off my list of surprise returns we want to see in the Women's Royal Rumble match! This is the start of plenty of Royal Rumble content coming your way this month but for now, you can have your say and let me know who you would like to see return in the Women's Royal Rumble by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.
