This weeks RAW and Smackdown LIVE Highlights

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well and good and have had an awesome start to the week and of course twenty eighteen! Now, we have reached the middle point of the week which can only mean one thing, it's time for my RAW and Smackdown LIVE Highlights of the week. You guys know the drill but if you're new here then it's pretty simple, I upload this post every single Wednesday; this is where I will take a look back at the last few days in wrestling and chat about some of the best and worse moments of the recent episodes of both Monday night RAW and Smackdown LIVE. The only time this post won't be uploaded is likely to be on pay per view weeks but that something we will get into later! Talking of pay per views, in around two weeks time I will be dedicating an entire week to the up and coming Royal Rumble pay per view. I will be bringing you predictions for both the men's and women's Royal Rumble as well as all of the other matches on the card! I will, of course, be live tweeting throughout the whole show despite the fact I've been struggling to keep up with live tweeting throughout all the shows this year already but I promise I'm trying and making more of an effort! As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including last weeks RAW and Smackdown LIVE highlights and finally, you can get involved and tell me what you thought of both shows this week by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.

The Miz makes his Return

It's been around two months since we last saw former Intercontinental champion the Miz on our screen but this past Monday he finally made his return rocking a new haircut and some serious determination. Still, alongside Bo Dallas and Curtis Axle aka the Miztourage, I was delighted to see that the WWE hadn't made any changes. This alliance works perfectly giving something extra for the Miz and his character that only elevates him while also finding a solid role for two superstars who have seriously struggled over the years. In his in-ring promo, the Miz made his intention perfectly, his war with Roman Reigns is far from over. With the IC title resting on the shoulder of "the Big dog" Miz expressed his feelings towards what we have seen from the champ during his time away and his sheer disgust in how poorly the title has been treated making it his number one focus to reclaim his title and make history. As I tweeted out this past Monday, the Miz has made such an impact as champion that it doesn't even feel right to see him without it. He is by far one of if not the best IC champion of all time and I cannot wait to see it back on his shoulder and a respectful and right position. A strong return, a solid segment, and a standout of this weeks show by far!

Braun Strowman Takes over... again

Okay, so at this point, I'm pretty sure we can settle on the fact that Braun Strowman is not human and in fact an actual monster. Set to challenge Brock Lesnar and Kane in a triple threat at the Royal Rumble pay per view for the Universal Championship, this week's show allowed Strowman to show that he truly is a real threat to the title and make yet another big impact. The segment started with Kane and Lesnar brawling to the back where it looked as though a repeat of the week before was about to go down, however, Strowman would soon make an appearance and shake things up. Manhandling both men, Braun took out both his future competitors in one heck of a fashion ending things by pulling part of the RAW set down on both Lesnar and Kane. This was yet another fantastic showing of Braun sheer strength and power and brutality. Taking Lesnar out on this scale while also doing the same to Kane is huge and proved once again he is a true legitimate threat to Brocks Universal Championship and this segment alone really did allow me to gain a much bigger interest in the up and coming title match. You can check out my full predictions for this match in just a couple of weeks time.

Could Mojo Rawley be the Next United States Champion

Over the years I've made it perfectly clear that I'm  not the worlds biggest Mojo Rawley fan. His character has always frustrated me and I've never enjoyed any of his in-ring work. However, his recent heel turn and slight character change have worked out amazingly well for him and I can honestly say I'm slowly becoming a fan. Now, Rawley has always looked like a beast in the ring despite his previous babyface role. His build and speed have made him a dominant performer but now he has a character that doesn't make me want to jump out of a window everything seems to be fitting together much better and he slowly really is starting to feel like a bigger deal. Last night, Mojo defeated former tag team partner Zack Ryder advancing to the next stage of the United States championship tournament set to no face Bobby Roode in the next round. A mini stare-off between the two was a nice touch and after such a dominant performance I have to say I'm interested in seeing where things go and how this match turns out for Mojo. Now, I personally don't see him going on to the finals and winning the title at the Royal Rumble pay per view however, if he can keep competing at this level and make an impact the way he is right now then things will pick up and his career in two thousand and eighteen will very easily be the best he's had so far.

Things are Heating up in the Tag Team Divison

Over on Smackdown LIVE things really are heating up for the tag team division. I've previously commented on the fact that I've struggled to enjoy and fully invest in the entire tag team division on the blue brand but I have to admit that that really is starting to change. Week in and week out we're seeing the entire division being used whether that be in backstage segments, interviews, matches, or promos and it's really helping build the division as a whole. From the Bludgen Brothers destroying everyone insight, Rusev and Aiden English taking over the world with Rusev day, to a must see two out of three falls match booked for the Royal Rumble pay per view between Chad Gable and Shelton Benjamin and the Usos for the Smackdown LIVE tag team championships. There's so much going, we have so many teams building momentum and things really are very very exciting for these guys. Now, it's time for RAW to catch up in this area.

This week on RAW and Smackdown LIVE

Both shows this week were pretty decent. The build to the Royal Rumble pay per view as a whole instead of the actual rumble matches were strong this week with the titles set to be defended on the night coming across as much more must-see contest and I have to say I really am excited for the pay per view in full! Strowman had a brilliant showing, it's perfect seeing the Balor club in action, and there really is a lot to look forward to. I do think the women's division was represented rather badly on both shows this week and I'm still not enjoying the work in the WWE championship scene but hopefully, things pick up there on the road to Wrestlemania!  As always, any recent blog posts will be linked bellow including last weeks RAW and Smackdown LIVE highlights and finally, you can get involved and tell me what you thought of both shows this week by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me over at @TezangiVictoria.
