Get to know: The NXT Divas
Alexa BlissFirst up is Alexa Bliss. I've actually done a full get to know on Alexa and I will link that bellow so you can go and check it out. Right so, Bliss was born on the ninth of August 1991, making her only twenty three years old. She's very very small standing at only five foot one but she sure does make up for it with her athletic ability. Alexa has a great history of competitive sport, competing since the age of five. She has been involved She's been involved in softball, track, kick-boxing and excelled in gymnastics and became a Division 1 cheerleader. Bliss also entered competitive body-building and became one of the youngest competitors to to receive IFBB professional status. She signed with WWE back in two thousand and thirteen and started ring announcing in the early stages of her career. Her debut match was against Alicia Fox and she picked up the win against the former divas champion. She's also been a rosebud, had a backstage segment with Tyler Breeze and now is part of the Blake and Murpthy tag team. I think she works great as both a heel and baby face and I think she has a massive future ahead of her. She reminds me of someone like Kelly Kelly with a touch of AJ Lee. Anyone else get that vibe?
Up next is Becky Lynch. Now since Becky has arrived in the WWE she had had multiple gimmick and image changes and I'm so glad the WWE have finally found something that works for her and looks interesting and different. Before Becky Lynch got to the WWE and became Becky Lynch she had a long tough journey. She started training back at Fergal Devitt (now known as Finn Balor) and Paul Tracey's training school in her home country of Ireland. She actually lied about her age so that she could start training as soon as possible. So instead of being seventeen, how old she said she was, she was actually only fifteen. She went on to compete at several different promotions across the UK and around the world picking up a good name for herself. She also has a great history with two time divas champion, Paige. Lynch signed with WWE in April of two thousand and thirteen and made her TV in ring debut on June twenty sixth two thousand and fourteen and defeated Summer Rae. Becky was born on the 30th of January 1987 making her twenty eight years old. She's had a big big journey since coming to the WWE with her character and she has one hundred per cent earned the respect of the NXT fans.
Carmella is up next in my get to know the NXT divas post. I remember talking a lot about Carmella before she debuted in NXT. I literally was none stop hyping her debut and telling everyone just how excited I was about her debuting and so far I haven't been disappointed what so ever. Carmella, real name Leah Van Dale, was born on the twenty third of October 1987 making her twenty seven years old. Some of you may not know that she is the daughter of former Wrestler in the WWE (jobber) Paul Van Dale. Before coming to the WWE she worked as a model, fitness instructor and personal trainer. She signed with the WWE back in June of two thousand and thirteen and after having several segments with Enzo and Cas with the character of a hairdresser she made her in ring TV debut on the 16th of October two thousand and fourteen when she defeated Blue Pants. I do think Carmella still has some work to do in the ring but she has so much potential.She has a great connection with the fans, she's a good character and she has some great wrestling ability. Give her time and she could go really really far in the WWE. I just hope they keep her with Enzo and Big Cas.
Up next is Bayley. Born in San Jose, California, on the 15th of June nineteen eighty nine (twenty six years old now) Bayley, real name Pamela Rose Martinez started wrestling in two thousand eight when she was eighteen years old. She worked on the independent scene for five years before being signed by the WWE in two thousand and twelve. Before the WWE she worked for NWA and Shimmer amongst other promotions, building a reputation and her popularity. She made her first appearance for an NXT product in January of two thousand and thirteen at an NXT live event. Her first TV appearance was back in March of two thousand and thirteen when she lost a one on one match against Paige. Bayley is someone that we really have see grow throughout her time in the WWE. She has found and moulded a strong following and group of fans. I was never a Bayley lover at the start but she really has grown on me. She's a true lover and fan of pro wrestling and that shows in everything she does. There is no doubt that she has a long career in the WWE. One that will see her achieve great things.
Our current NXT Women's champion Sasha Banks is up next. I have actually already written a "Get to know Sasha Banks" blog post and I will make sure to link that bellow so you can check out the full post but here is a little snippet: So Sasha Banks signed with the WWE all the way back in two thousand and twelve. Before coming to World Wrestling Entertainment she worked for several independent promotions gaining a lot of experience. Seriously, if you haven't checked out some of her matches before she got to the WWE then I advise you to go and do so! Banks was born on the twenty second of January, the year of nineteen ninety two, witch means she's only twenty three years old! Sasha made her first TV appearance and in ring debut in December of two thousand and twelve when she took on Paige but lost the match. Her first televised victory was in January of two thousand and thirteen when she defeated Alicia Fox. She was also apart of the BFF's (Beautiful Fierce Females) alongside Charlotte and Summer Rae. Another little fact about Sasha Banks is she's the cousin of Snoop Dog.
Up next is Dana Brooks. Dana is the newest diva on the NXT roster. She only made her NXT TV debut back on the fifteenth of April this year when she defeated Blue Pants, but she signed her contract with the WWE all the way back in two thousand and thirteen, so she's been with the company for a while now. Before coming to the WWE she had a big career in fitness as a fitness competitor and body builder. Before that she had a long career in gymnastics but gave it up after injuries. She was placed twelfth at the two thousand and thirteen European Arnold Classic, and placed thirteenth in the two thousand and fifteen of the Arnold sorts Festival. Her first appearance in NXT was back at a live event when she teamed with Sasha Banks to take on Bayley and Alexa Bliss. Her first singles victory was in a dark match at NXT against Devin Taylor. A thew other little facts about Dana: she's from Seven Hills, Ohio and stands at only five foot three. It's clear Dana has a long way to go and she still has some improvements to make in the ring but I think she has bags of potential and the more we see of her the better she will get.
And finally, one of the originals of NXT, Charlotte is who we are getting to know. Once again I have already written a full post on getting to know Charlotte witch went up last years so I will link that bellow so you can go and check it out. Here is just a little piece of what I wrote in that blog post. Everyone and their mother knows that Charlotte is the daughter of Ric Flair but she is also the wife of TNA star Bram who also worked for NXT/FCW. Before coming to the WWE, Charlotte played volleyball and she was also a personal trainer before coming to World Wrestling Entertainment. She signed her contract with the WWE back in two thousand and twelve and in January of two thousand and thirteen she made her televised debut when she defeated Bayley. She later in the year formed a tag team with Bayley until turning heel and joining the BFF's alongside Summer Rae and Sasha Banks. Last year she also defeated Natalya to become the second NXT Women's champion and later dropped it to Sasha Banks. There is no doubt that with a change in the divas division Charlotte will be a huge part of WWE history.
