Superstar Spotlight: Randy Orton

Hey Everyone! It's Friday and I'm here today with the first of my new series. Every Friday I am going to be doing a Superstar and Diva Spotlight post. These post are not to be confused with the Superstar of the week post as that's a separate thing and up every Saturday. Whitest the Superstar of the week focuses on the key superstar that has stood out the most for me throughout the whole week and is placed number one in my top 5 superstars of the week post , the spotlight superstar is a superstar that has not made it in my top 5 but has still stood out enough to deserve a full post on them. As the week's go by you will begin to understand the point and why each person has been voted my Spotlight superstar.

So this week and my first spotlight superstar is Randy Orton. Now Randy is never a "Fade in the background" Superstar and is always main eventing and standing out weather it be on Raw, Smackdown, interviews or a PPV, and this past week has been no different. The first thing I wanna talk about is Money in the bank. Randy was involved in the money in the bank ladder match for the WWE world heavy weight championship. Now a lot of people were not in the best of moods when it came to this, after all everyone who wan involved in the match (aside from kane) had to qualify in order to be able to compete, however as we all know Randy was automatically put in the match by Triple H. At first I was pretty annoyed too but when i realised some facts, for example; Randy never got a re-match against Daniel Bryan for he's WWE world heavyweight championship after he lost it to him at Wrestlemania, it was clear Randy deserved to be in the match and was worthy of having a shot at getting he's title back. Moving on from that and actually on to he's all round performance this past Sunday I think we can all agree that love or hate Orton he had a pretty good performance. Yes he did have Kane on he's side but he did a lot of things on he's own. He kept a lot of the attention on him and came close a couple of times to retrieving the titles. Something that has really stood out for me also, was the injury that he suffered that night. As we all know during the ladder match a ladder hit Orton on the top of he's head, busting him open and leading top him needing 12 stitches. Now regardless of he's injury Randy carried on fighting and didn't leave the match in order to get fully sorted then and there. He still, with blood poring down he's face carried on competing. He counted to stand out and be a key superstar in the match and managed to come very very close to wining he's championship's back.
The following night on Raw I was expecting to see an absent Randy or at least an absent Randy in the ring however that wasn't the case, and we all got to see Randy as part of the night's main event when he teamed up with Kane to face the team of John Cena and Roman Reigns. The fact he had 12 stitches in he's head was unnoticeable and he was good in the ring as ever. It was also announced that night that at Battleground Randy will participate in the fatal 4 way for the WWE world heavyweight championship. I don't like the idea of the 3 guys just randomly put in the match with no qualification match's or anything it all just seems thrown together, I wrote a little more on this in my RAW Review and Reactions post witch I will leave the links to at the end.  This just proved how relevant Randy still is. We will also see Randy in some one on one action tonight on Smackdown. Orton has also been involved in a all over the place feud with Roman Reigns witch I think is working for both superstars but needs a little more attention. I don't think the WWE quit know what to do next with Roman Reigns, but he's work with Orton has been fairly good.
The reason Randy didn't make it into my top 5 superstars of the week it because I just feel he hasn't done enough. He hasn't been involved in many one on one matches in a while and i feel like he's another superstar who is all over the place and not being involved in a good solid storyline. He's performance's over the past month have been average and in comparison to superstars like Roman Reigns, Dean Ambrose, Luke Harper and Seth Rollins he just feels a little lost and not standing out as much as they are at the moment, witch im seeing as a good thing, because it means the new talent are getting there time to shine and really stand out more.
