Get to know: Bayley

So today is another get to know and the first diva to feature in my get to know post in the NXT month, Bayley. Since Bayley came to the WWE I have had mixed feelings about her and I have to be honest at first I wasn't a fan of her's at all, but then I realised it was 100% the gimmick I hated not her and not her wrestling ability. I was a fan of her work before coming to the WWE and I will list some of her best matches at the end, so I knew she was one heck of a wrestler and her in ring ability was amazing, putting her at the top of not only the NXT divas division but the WWE divas division as a whole. I have however really got used to the gimmick and I have to give it to her she play's it really well. I'm still not all for it but it suits her pretty well and makes her stand on the roster. With the Gimmick you straight away kinda have your questions about her wrestling ability and that's what I love. She proves that it's not the gimmick that matters, it's the person and how they use it. The fact that people pre judge her is great because she just get's to prove them wrong time and time again. She has very quickly become one of the best stars of NXT, she's extremely over with the fan's and has a great work ethic. She get's better and better each week, she's the perfect idol for young girls and women around the world and it so great to have a female wrestler in the business who genuinely has a passion for what she is doing and has wanted to do this pretty much all her life. It's rare we get women wrestlers who haven't just been employed because of their look's and the fact they have a modelling background. Bayley is a true athlete and performer and not only do I know for a fact she will be NXT Women's champion but also the diva's champion once up on the main roster. I hope the WWE know the talent they have with her and how far they can actually go with her character.
Now let's really get to know Bayley. Bayley's real name is Pamela Rose Martinez and as born on June 15, 1989, making her 25 years old, in Orlando Florida. Pamela has pretty much always had a love for the world of pro wrestling and began attending show's by Big Time Wrestling, a professional wrestling promotion in Northern Carolina from, the age of 11. At 18 Martinez started her career as a pro wrestler by attending Big Time Wrestling's training school back in 2008 were she was strained by Jason Styles. She had her first match in September 2008. In the American independent circuit Martinez would wrestle under the ring name "Davina Rose" Rose would wrestle for Big Time Wrestling from 2008 to 2012. From 2011 to 2012, she branched out to wrestle for other promotions like NWA Championship wrestling from Hollywood and Shine Wrestling. On October 2012 Rose met her mentor Serena when they teamed together in a tag team match. When Rose made her debut for Shimmer in October 2011 at the taping of Shimmer Volume 41-44; she became embroiled in Serena's feud with the Canadian Ninja's made up of Porita Perez and Nicole Matthews. At the tapings. Rose lost all four of her matches including her debut match against Mercedes Martinez. She continued to wrestle for Shimmer in 2012 and picked up her first win on volume 48 when she teamed with Mia Yim to defeat Melanie Cruise and Mena Libra. On volumes 51 and 52 Rose picked up her first two singles win's in Shimmer with victories over Cherry Bomb and Rhia O'Riley.
It was reported in December 2012 that Martinez had signed with WWE. In late January 2013, Martinez made her debut for WWE's developmental centre NXT in a live show , she would soon adapt the ring name Bayley and made her NXT television debut in a loss to Paige on the March 20 episode. On June 12, Bayley adopted a new character of a hug loving fan girl, then lost to Alicia Fox in the first round of the NXT women's championship tournament.On July 17 Bayley lost to a debuting Charlotte and on August 21, Bayley challenged divas champion AJ Lee to a divas championship match and lost.
On September 2 NXT,Bayley picked up her first win when she teamed up with Charlotte to face Alicia Fox and Aksana. To Charlotte's annoyance the BFF's (Sasha Banks and Summer Rae) tried to convince Bayley to join them, however on November 13 Charlotte attacked Bayley costing them their match against Summer Rae and Sasha Banks, The BFF's and joined them making up the third member. Bayley would from a brief alliance with Natalya managing to beat Sasha Banks in tag team and singles competition. She recently went on to challenge the NXT women's champion Charlotte for the championship however was unsuccessful. This match was just amazing Bayley was a true stand out. She performed at an extremely high level and both her and Charlotte put all the main roster divas to shame. They were given a long time slot for their match and the crowd showed insane appreciation for them and the match up. I gained so much respect for Bayley and I think she's just amazing. I can now she is one of my top divas on the roster. Her in ring talent is amazing, she's pretty good on the mic, she can act and can work her gimmick really well. The future look's bright for Bayley and I think once she get's on the main roster she will own the division and blow a lot of people away with her all round skill and understanding of the company.
