Hell In A Cell Predictions: AJ Lee VS Paige
Divas Championship
Hey everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World. It's officially the go home week for WWE Hell in a cell witch take's place this Sunday at 8 p.m EST/5.p.m PT and UK time 1 a.m with the pre show at midnight. Thought the week I will be providing you with my predictions for each match up set for the show and also giving you little re-caps of what has been going on with each other the past month. I will leave the link's to the predictions I have already made so you can check those out if you haven't done so already. This past Monday on RAW the WWE announced at the Hell in a cell PPV this Sunday AJ Lee will defend her divas championship against Paige. This will be the fourth PPV in a row that these two would battle it out for the divas championship witch as you can already guess, I'm not happy about at all. My biggest problem with this whole thing is the fact that such little importance for the championship is being put into this feud. The title has been going back and forth between the two for several months now and the WWE universe have expressed there disapproval to this on numerous occasions. But it's become apparent that this pattern is not only running in the divas championship but the IC championship also. The WWE really do need to sort out their gold and how they handle feuds surrounding titles. I think another problem with these two divas is that their feud was extremely anticipated by fans all around the world. A lot of both male and female fan's wanted to see these two feud from Paige's early day's over in NXT and therefore developed high high expectations of the two and their feud and that includes myself. But the feud has been far from what everyone has been expecting and the WWE have truly let down the fans in this case.
Their past matches have been, well okay to say the least. Nothing crazy or super exciting has happened and once again have been pretty disappointing. At this point in their feud everything has kinda reached the boring, typical, and predictable stage and there's hardly anyone interested in it any more. There's just nothing keeping anyone interested and it doesn't leave you wanting to see more.
Over the past couple of months Paige has adopted the "crazy chick" gimmick and it's kind of been a battle of the most crazy, witch of course AJ will easily win. I think this whole thing with Paige has been a disaster. The WWE have truly let Paige and the fan's down wince her call up. By completely destroying what she is all about they have ruined a lot of her potential in the WWE and connection with the fans. The WWE have recently paired Paige and Alicia Fox in some wired alliance but I have to admit I've become really found of this paring and I'm really starting to like it. It just seem's to work and they look great together. If Paige was more the Anti Diva than the crazy chick I think it would be even more better, and these to being together really makes me wish that there was a divas tag team championship around. They have so far worked really well together and I don't know it just looks good. The two girls have been attacking AJ after matches and have gone against her both in one on one matches and tag team matches over the past thew weeks. Several weeks back Alicia actually got a pin fall win over AJ on RAW and I don't think she actually got a title shot.... yeah I don't get that. I think the lead up has been okay but It really has been missing something and to be honest it just been too seen it all already to keep me personally interested.
As for AJ Lee I don't really know what to say to be honest. I mean she's just been AJ. We've seen a nice vicious side of her witch I thought was great but as for the divas champion we haven't seen enough and she's just looked really weak. She's managed to pick up a fair share of wins but none really strong and that have pushed her and the feud.
When it comes to the actual match up once again I don't have high expectations. I think after this PPV it has to end between these two. There's flat out nothing left for them and for Paige in particular she really needs to move on to something knew. If she doesn't pick up the title it will hurt AJ more than her. The thing with Paige is that she's in her debut year and there is still so much they can do with her all they have to do is sort out what they are going to do with her character and stick with it. If AJ was to retain than I honestly think the WWE will struggle creatively. She has held the title pretty much most of the past year and I may sound like a broke record here but we need something new in the divas division. They have pretty much done all they can with AJ as the champ and they need to come with something for her without the title. But then after having such a terrible feud with AJ what would they do next with Paige as the champ, especially with Charlotte coming up, do the fans really wanna see two "rookies" go at it in a feud, in fact will the WWE allow it. After the announcement of Paige joining the cast of total divas (alongside Alicia fox) means it's less likely she will become a three time divas champion this weekend, however after a tweet from the anti diva herself on Monday it seem's that the rules may be changing surrounding the championship and the cast of total divas. I think going into this match Paige has the most momentum. With having Alicia at her side throughout the feud and the constant attacks Paige does have the upper hand. However that being said, AJ is far from lacking momentum herself, after picking up several wins both in singles competition and tag team alongside crowd support, and the attacks she had inflicted on others divas AJ is walking into this match with a lot of momentum also. I predict AJ will retain but I'd rather see Paige pick up the win personally.
