Get to know: Becky Lynch

Hey everyone and welcome back to my blog. I have for you yet another NXT get to know as part of NXT month her on Talk Wrestling World.I will leave the link to any recent post bellow so you can check those out if you haven't done so already. So today we're taking a look at NXT diva Becky Lynch. I was really excited to here about the signing of Lynch because I'm very aware of her work from the insides and she has been one of not many women I have really wanted the WWE to add to their roster. She has a strong strong wrestling background and over the year's has gone on to do a lot of thing's in her career witch I will go on to tell you all about later on in the post. So far she has had a rocky start and has already had several change's in gimmicks, but I really do think they have finally found something that really suit's her and something she can really work. When she was first given her Irish dancer gimmick I was beyond disappointed and actually really really angry wither he gimmick choice, in fact I think I took to twitter and had one heck of a rant. I think what it is with me and many other's is when we're so used to someone's work in the Indies and what the character has been like for so long it's hard getting used to such a big big character change and this was one of those big big character changes. The problem with this one was it didn't work what so ever. I genuinely hate stereotype gimmick's and this was right up their with the top Irish gimmick's. Now don't get me wrong she played it to the best that she possibly could and was very convincing but it just flat out wasn't for her and that was so evident. Fortunate the WWE saw this and Lynch has been re branded with a character that is basically just her jazzed up a little. So far we are yet to see a lot of her in the ring but I will talk more about that as well later on in the post. All round I'm a huge huge fan of Lynch. I have been for a long time now and I really can't wait to really get started in the WWE because trust me she is one to watch and for sure a diva set to change up the diva's division...

Before Becky Lynch...
Rebecca Quin was born on the 30th of January 1987 making her now twenty seven year's old, in Dublin Ireland. Growing up Quin was a fan of pro wrestling and used to watch it wither her brother.Talking of her brother, he is actually a wrestler himself who goes by the name Gonzo De Mondo. As a child Rebecca was involved in horse riding, swimming and basketball, picking up a brown belt in submission wrestling also. On her way to a wrestling career Quin has previously said that she went down a bad path with alcohol and marijuana but it was wrestling that put her back on the right track and give it up.She attended university where she studied History, philosophy and politics but said that she hated it and dropped out. She then planned on going back to college to study health ad exercise. As a teenager Rebecca learnt that Fergal Devitt and Paul Trace were opening a wrestling school in Ireland and began training there with her brother in June of 2002. Five month's later she had her pro wrestling debut using the name Rebecca Knox. Throughout the early stages of her career Quin tag teamed with her brother a lot in mix tag team action. She also trained at NWA UK in Hammerlock.

Independent Promotions & more...
On May 13 2005, Knox was defeated by English wrestler Skye at Queens of Chaos inaugural show and DVD taping in France. On the seventh of August Knox appeared at Fighting Spirit Federations (FSF) in a fatal four way match for the World Queens of Chaos championship. When Nikita vacated the championship Knox defeated Saraya to win it on the fourth of June 2006 at another FSF show in France. She held the championship for around two and half month's before dropping it in September.
During 2006 Knox competed for One Pro Wrestling. On the tenth of September of that year she also wrestled for International Wresting Zone promotion wining a triple threat match. She also competed for German Stampede Wrestling, where she failed to pick up a win in a singles match, during that match Knox suffered a cut above her eye witch she needed stitching. She would go on to write on her website that she had been suffering form head aches, vision problems, and loud buzzing in her left ear after the injury. She was diagnosed with possible damage to her eighth cranial nerve, and as a result cancelled all her bookings for the year. She was expected to participate in at a ChickFight television taping on the fourth of May 2008, but was removed after a no-showing at a Shimmer Women Athletes show, stating that she did no believe wrestling was the right career path for her.
From 2005 to 2008 and 2011 Knox also competed for some North American promotions. This included the Canadian promotion SuperGirls Wrestling, an all female off shot of Extreme Canadian Wrestling. In the promotion she jumped straight into a feud with Miss Chevius. On June 24 Knox defeated Miss Chevius to become the the SuperGirls champion.
On October 14 of 2005 Rebecca appeared at a New England Championship event where she competed in a fatal four way match that was won by Violet Flame. Later that month Knox competed in All Pro Wrestling's third ChickFight tournament, where she defeated Morgan in the first round on the 28th but lost to the eventual winner Mariko Yoshida in the second round later that night. She
appeared at several other shows for the promotion.
Knox began working for all female promotion Shimmer in 2006. Her debut match was for the promotions DVD taping  where she defeated Allison Danger on the 12th of February. She worked for Shimmer all the way through to 2008. She would return in 2011 as the manager of the mother and daughter tag team Saraya and and Britani Knight, now known as Paige in WWE.
In November of 2005, Knox completed a two week tour of Japan, as she competed for  International Women's Grand Prix. During this time on November 9th, Knox won a 18- person battle royal. She late singled out this tour as the highlight of her career. She returned in August of 2006 where she picked up some very good strong wins.

WWE...
On April 8th it was reported that Rebecca had signed a two year developmental contract with WWE and had moved to Florida to report to their developmental territory WWE NXT. She would later adopt the ring name Becky Lynch and first debuted with an Irish dancing stereotype. However she recently was given a new character that as I mentioned at the begging. She has gone on (since her debut) to team up with Bayley and has picked up win's over Summer Rae and other's at live event's and TV taping in singles matches. At NXT Takeover two Fatal Four way Lynch competed in a singles match against Paige in an none aired match before the show started where she failed to pick up a win.

When Rebecca took time off of wrestling she worked as an actress for a couple of years.

To conclude I honestly think Becky Lynch is one of the best female signings the WWE has made in a while; she's an all rounder with bag's of experience. She has the look, the skill and the background to support her and I think she's so fresh and different and could and will definitely shake thing's up for the divas division. I just hope that the WWE know just how much talent they have here with Rebecca and use her to her full advantage. We are yet to really see her kick start but I think she will really blow us away in the next thew months. But what do you think? Let me know what you think of the Irish bomb shell by leaving a comment bellow or dropping me a tweet at @TezangiVictoria.
