Hey guy's I'm back today with a new Get to know. This week I'm focusing on Roman Reigns. I will leave the link's to the rest of the get to know post I've done in the past so you can check those out if you haven't done so already. You can also let me know who you would like to see as next week's get to know by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

So as you already know this week's get to know is Roman Reigns. Over the past thew months's I've said a lot about Roman Reigns some positive and some (mainly) negative so I'm also hopeing in the post I can get across what I really I think of him as well, just so you have a full understanding of what I really do think of him as a wrestler and as a person but I will keep that to the end of the post so for now let's just, well, get to know Roman Reigns. Roman Reigns (Leati Joseph "Joe" Anoa'i) was born on May 25th 1985 (29 years old) in Pensacola, Florida. He now weighs 265 lbs and is 6ft 3.Reigns is a part of a big family of wrestlers witch I will go more into later. Roman actually hasn't been wrestling for that long and before getting into pro wrestling he had a football career. Throughout high school Leati played football, three years at Pensacola Catholic high School and one year Escambia High school. During this time he was named player of the year by Pensacola news journal. After he attended Georgia Institute of Technology where he was a member of the  Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets football team. In he's sophmore year he was a three-year starter beginning and team captain, and in 2006 was named first team All Atlantic Coast Conference as a senior. He had the thirteenth best record in Georgia Tech's history when he made twenty-nine tackles for loss, including twelve sacks. After going undrafted in the 2007 NFL Draft he was signed by the Minnesota Vikings. After being released by the Vikings he was added to the Jacksonville Jaguars roster to provide depth at defensive end. In 2008 he was signed by Edmonton Eskimos and accepted a spot on the teams practice roster.Wearing number 99 he played five games with the Eskimos of which he started three. He played just a single season before he's release in November.
He is a member of the Anoa'i family, a renowned samon-american professional wrestling family. In July 2010 Leati signed a contract with WWE's developmental centre FCW.  He debuted on September 9, 2010, under the ring name Roman Leakee in a loss to Richie Steamboat in a singles match. On September 21 Leakee picked up he's first win over Fahd Rakman but before he managed to pick up that win he suffered loss's against Idol Stevens and Wes Brisco. Throughout the year he continued wrestling in FCW mainly in tag team matches. In 2011 on the January 16 TV episode of FCW Leakee was involved in a  30 man grand Royal but was eliminated. Later on in the year he teamed up with Donny Marlow and the pair unsuccessfully challenged Calvin Raines and Big E for the FCW tag team championships.
Leakee became a main eventer in 2012 in singles competition and he pinned the FCW heavyweight champion Leo Kruger during a tag team match on January 8th. On the February 5th TV episode of FCW he beat Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins in a triple threat match to become the number one contender for the FCW heavyweight championship. The following week he failed to win the championship against champ Kruger. He later won the FCW tag team championships with partner Mike Dalton before dropping it to CJ Parker and Jason Jordan. When WWE re-branded FCW into NXT he made he's debut a new ring name, Roman Reigns, on the October 31st 2012 addition of the show and defeated CJ Parker.
Reigns made he's debut on the main roster along side Dean Ambrose and Seth Rollins On the November 18 2012 edition of Survivor Series where the they assaulted Ryback during the triple threat main event for the WWE championship allowing Punk to retain the title. The three men declared themselves as the Shield and vowed to rally against injustice. They denied working for CM Punk however contentiously appearing from the crowd to attack the opponents of the Punk including Ryback and the Tag team champions at the time, team Hell no (Kane and Daniel Bryan). This led to the Shields first main roster match and match as a team at the TLC PPV of that year in a six- man Tables ladders and chairs match where the team of Ambrose, Reigns and Rollins picked up the win against Team Hell no and Ryback. Some people named it one of the best matches of the year. In January 2013 the team continued to  aid to CM punk, attacking both Ryback and The Rock. On RAW January 28 it was revealed that Punk and Heyman had been paying them to to work for them all along, alongside Brad Madox. The Shield then gradually ended their association with Punk and began a feud with John Cena, Sheamus and Ryback. On February 17 at the Elimination Chamber all men where involved in a six man tag team match with Shield once again picking up the win. The following night on RAW the team had their first RAW match and this time is was against the team of Sheamus, Chris Jericho and Ryback, defeating another all star team. Shemaus then formed an alliance with Randy Orton and the Big show witch would lead to Wrestlemania, where the Shield managed to pick up the win over this team also and left them with there first Wrestlemania win. The following night the team tried to attack the Undertaker but were stopped but team hell no. This set up a six man tag match on the April 22 edition of RAW, Witch the Shield won. The Shields winning streak ended on May 13 on Raw in six man completion against Cena, Kane and Bryan by DQ in a elimination match. At Extreme Rules on May 19 Rollins and Reigns picked up the tag team championships when they defeated Team Hell no. On the same night Ambrose won the United states championship. This was Reigns first championship hold in WWE and he's only one to date. Rollins and Reigns made their first title defence in a re-match against hell no on the May 27 episode of RAW. The Shields Unpinned/UnSubmitted streak ended in a TV match against Randy Orton and Team Hell no. Reigns and Rollins retained the championships at Payback against Randy Orton and Daniel Bryan. They also retained against The Usos at Money in the bank Pre show and the prim time players at night of champions. On September 23 episode of RAW Reigns was pinned for the first time on the main roster curtsey of the Usos in a eleven on three handicap elimination match. Cody Rhodes and Goldust made their return and earned the jobs back by defeating Reigns and Rollins in a non title match On October 14 (raw) Rollins and Reigns lost their title against Cody and Goldust and failed to regain at Hell in a cell. Tension began to rise between Ambrose and Reigns when Ambrose was left as the only Shield member with gold around their waist. At Survivor Series Reigns was the sole survivor of he's team in a traditional five on five elimination match after eliminating four opponents. In my opinion this was the turning point  in Reigns Career. He really proved himself as a singles competitor and was the true moment I saw him as a future champion. The Shield lost a 3 on one handicap match against CM punk at TLC however on January 6 2014 Reigns picked up the win against Punk in a singles match making him the only Shield member to beat Punk. At the Royal Rumble Reigns entered at number 15 and set the record for the most eliminations in a single rumble with 12! Once again this was another moment my opinions on Reigns changed. January was an amazing month for him and I completely saw him in a new light! On the night he eliminated both Shield members and came down to the last two with Batista. At the Elimination Chamber they had a great match with The Wyatt family however did not pick up the win.
Now I have said a lot about Roman Reigns. Mainly negative things. But it's only because I feel like the WWE have over hyped him. Don't get me wrong he looks great, he has a great body and a lot of potential but I think he has a lot a lot a lot of work to do! Being a main event star is more than looking good. He's move set is very very limited. He's matches also feel very very structured and predictable. We haven't seen enough diversity or all round enough from him. Some of the moves he does try that we hardly see him do are done quit messy. I do feel like if they want him to be a main event star he needs to do more in the ring on the mic, he's no where near ready to be Champion yet. I think they need to drop the feud with Randy and move him onto something new maybe a feud with Triple H. He needs to show he's championship material and he has all the skill to go with it. He also needs to work on he's mic skills a lot! And I mean a lot! With people like Bray Wyatt and Dean Ambrose who are just amazing on the mic he stands out like a sour thumb! He's really weak on the mic and lacks character and charisma on it too. Another thing with him on the mic is he always looks like he's tying to remember what he needs to say and gives it all too much thought. I think he needs to work on Roman Reigns as a character. Character is a big big thing and that comes through on the mic and in the ring without character there's no true wrestler. I think he needs to go down to the performance centre a lot more and work more in the ring and practice those mic skills! I know I moan about it a lot but it something that really frustrates me personally! The good thing about Roman Reigns is he's still really young and really early in he's career so he has so much time to grow but I do feel like there pushing him really quickly and they want him to be that big new main event start straight away. With character building, growth in confidence, work on the mic skills and more in ring work Reigns will be big in the WWE all you have to do is look at what he has already done in just 2 years. There's no doubt in my mind that Reigns will be champion in the future and will go down in history but I do think he has a lot of work to do. They were so focused on making him the break out star of the Shield that I think it back fired, and most people are more interested in Ambrose and Rollins but that's just a personal opinion. Personally I think maybe around TLC/ Royal Rumble will be a good time for him to hold gold.
