Get to know: The NXT Superstars PT2
Finn Balor
Before we get started on getting to know Finn Balor, I want to let you know that I have a full get to know on Finn Balor coming up so make sure to keep an eye out for that in the next couple of weeks. Let's start off with the basic. Finn Balor, real name Fergal Devitt was born on the twenty fifth of July nineteen eighty one in Bray, County, Wicklow, Ireland. He started wrestling in two thousand when he was eighteen years old. After training at NWA UK Hammerlock, he made he's debut at the age of eighteen and would pick up the NWA British Commonwealth Heavyweight championship early into he's career. In the mid of two thousand and two Devitt opened NWA Ireland with Paul Tracey. This was the same Wrestling promotion that Becky Lynch trained at. Balor spent over thirteen years wrestling across the world. Competing and winning championships in various promotions including NJPW. In two thousand and fourteen he signed he's contact with World Wrestling Entertainment and debuted on the twenty third of October.
Up next is Baron Corbin. I have written loads of blog post and articles on Baron Corbin and I will link a couple of those down at the end of the blog post so you can go and give those a little read if you haven't already done so. It's no secret I'm a huge fan of Corbin's so some of those posts may be a touch biased. Anyway, Baron Corbin, real name Thomas "Tom" Petstock was born on the thirteenth of September nineteen eighty four in Lenexa, Kansas. He's big guy standing at six foot seven and two hundred and seventy five pounds. Before he started wrestling Petstock played professional football. In two thousand and nine he signed with Indianapolis Colts. After being released for a second on September fifth two thousand and nine he signed with the Arizona Cardinals on the eight of January two thousand and ten. He signed a contract with WWE back in two thousand and twelve and made he's first NXT TV appearance on May eighth two thousand and thirteen. He made he's official debut however on the fourteenth of September two thousand and fourteen.
Bull Dempsey is up next. Born on the sixteenth of January nineteen eighty eight (making Bull only twenty seven years old) in Monroe, New York, Bull Dempsey real name James Smith has been wrestling since two thousand and five. In October of two thousand and five Smith made he's wrestling debut for East Coast Professional Wrestling under the ring name Donnie "the Body" Johnson. Over the following five months he wrestled for National Wrestling Alliance under a different ring name. In two thousand and ten he changed he's ring name to Smith James. On July twenty first, two thousand and eleven, James defeated Memphis Mofo in a TNA dark match. In June of two thousand and thirteen he signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment and in August he was given the name Bull Dempsey. We would then see Bull make he's NXT TV debut in spring of two thousand and fourteen. He also had a little tag team alliance with Mojo Rawley but it didn't last long and one of he's first major feuds was with Baron Corbin were he failed to come up on top.
Up next, Solomon Crowe, a man that I'm sure most of you will be aware of and someone who I have spoken about a lot here on my blog. Solomon, real name, Sam Johnston, was born on the first of September nineteen eighty seven in Bellefontaine, Ohio. He started wrestling in two thousand and six wrestling under the ring name Sami Callihan. Not long into he's debut Sami joined the faction "the crew" alongside Jon Moxley (now Dean Ambrose), Pepper Parks, and Dick Rick. Throughout he's time wrestling for Heartland Wrestling Association he faced the likes of Chad Collyer and Nigel McGuiness. He's also wrestled for Insanity Pro Wrestling, Combat Zone Wrestling, Ring Of Honour and more. He's work with Jon Moxley as part of The Switchblade Conspiracy is very very popular and you can see some of there promos online witch I seriously advice you to go and check out! Crowe signed he's contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in August two thousand and thirteen. But before that he did work a dark match for WWE in two thousand and twelve. He made he's much anticipated TV debut in February of this year.
Enzo Amore
I have already done a full get to know on Enzo and I will link that full blog post bellow so you can give that a read if you haven't already done so, but here is what I wrote in that blog post: Eric Arndt was born on December 8 1986 making him twenty seven year's old, in Hackensack New Jersey. He's now five foot elven and exactly two hundred pounds . He went to Memorial Elementary School and WaldWick high school. While studying a journalism degree at Salisbury University, Ardnt played Division III (NCAA) College football from two thousand and seven to two thousand and nine. He also played as a linebacker and a safety for the Salisbury sea gulls. He signed a contract with World Wrestling Entrainment in August of two thousand and twelve after a chance of meeting Triple H at DeFranco's gym in Wyckoff, New Jersey contributed to the signing. He made he's TV debut on May twenty second two thousand and thirteen.
Up next is Jason Jordan. I'm actually a really really big fan of Jason Jordan. I literally think he has it all. He's good looking, he's got a great body, good character and charisma, wrestling ability, he's young. I do think that there have been some early mistakes made with him but I have so much faith in him. Jordan stands at six foot three and two hundred and thirty five pounds. he was born on the twenty eighth of September nineteen eighty eight making him only twenty six years old now and he's from Chicago, Illinois. Throughout he's time in high school he dedicated himself to a lot of sport. He wrestled, played football and Baseball. He then signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in two thousand and eleven meaning when he first came to the WWE he competed for Florida Championship Wrestling before the WWE re-branded the developmental territory into NXT. He's first NXT Televised match was back in mid of last year.
Hideo Itami is up next. Real name Kenta Kobayashi, was born on March twelfth nineteen eighty one (making him thirty four now) in Soka, Saitama, Japan. He stated wrestling in two thousand for All Japan Pro Wrestling. He would spend over thirteen years crafting he's work and build a reputation. In the process, he eventually became one of the most successful and biggest names in Japanese Wrestling. He spent time wrestling for Ring Of Honour also. In the summer of two thousand and fourteen he signed he's contract with WWE and there was massive hype surrounding he's signing. We saw Hulk Hogan announce the big signing and after spending a thew months training in NXT it didn't take long for him to make he's debut for NXT taking on the Ascension. He of course then started an alliance with Finn Balor to take on and take down the longest regaining tag team champions, The Ascension. Hideo stands at five foot nine and one hundred and nineteen pounds.
Up next is Marcus Louis. I'll be honest I'm not the biggest fan of Marcus Louis. I've never really seen anything super special in him and he's never really stood out for all the right reasons in my eyes. I do however think he's working he's current gimmick perfectly. He's very convincing and I do think he has some potential. Anyway, Marcus Louis stands in at six foot three and is two hundred and forty five pounds. He's a former rugby player and competed in sports throughout he's time in high school. He's real name is Pierre Marceau and is of course French. He was signed by the WWE in two thousand and thirteen I believe and for the early stages of he's career he tag teamed with Sylvester Lefort. I did think that keeping them together was the best thing for both superstar. I can't see the biggest of futures for both superstars as singles competitors. Marcus is a gifted wrestler that still does need some improvements but he has loads of potential.
Up next is Wesley Blake. I'm a massive fan of Wesley Blake. I have been from day one. I think he's such a talented wrestler with so much charisma. There's no doubt he's going to have great success in the WWE and after all he's part of one my favourite tag teams in all of the WWE right now. Wesley Blake, real name Cory Weston was born in nineteen eighty eight and is from San Marocs, Texas. He stands at six foot one and weighs two hundred and forty pounds. Before wrestling and coming to the WWE he worked as a strength instructor and he also played college football.He started wrestling in two thousand and elven when he became a student at Dory Funk Jr's wrestling school. He would eventually become the Funking Conservatory World Champion, European and Florida Heavyweight Champion. He signed he's contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in two thousand and thirteen. He made he's first NXT TV appearance on January of two thousand and fourteen.
We only recently saw Chad Gable make he's official NXT TV debut as part of a tag team with Jason Jordan but Gable is no stranger to the world of Wrestling. Chad Gable, real name Charles Betts was born on the eighth of march nineteen eighty six, making him twenty nine now. He's from Minneapolis, Minnesota and stands at five foot eight and weighs two hundred and two pounds. He has a amateur wrestling career. He was a Minnesota high school state champion and a had great career. He signed he's contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in two thousand and thirteen. Since signing with WWE he has created a strong and loyal following from the NXT Universe after competing at live shows. He received a great reaction from the crowd when he debuted a couple of weeks back. Before he did actually start tag teaming with Jason Jordan he did work a couple of singles matches on NXT TV. I do think that Chad has a great career ahead of him. He's a great talker, he's good in the ring, he knows what works best for him and he already has a strong following.
And finally, closing part two of my get to know the NXT superstars is Mojo Rawley. It's no secret that I'm not a fan of Mojo Rawley what so ever. I honestly, seriously, do not have any kind of liking for Mojo Rawley what so ever and I don't think I ever will do if I'm being honest. But anyway, Mojo, real name Dean Muhtadi was born on the seventeenth of July nineteen eighty six making him twenty nine now. He stands at six foot four and weighs two hundred and seventy two pounds. Before wrestling and coming to the WWE Mojo/Dean had a professional football career where he has seriously great success. After playing sports for so long he eventually signed a contract with World Wrestling Entertainment in two thousand and thirteen after he didint return to football after an injury. He made he's NXT TV debut on the twenty nineteenth of may two thousand and thirteen competing in a Battle Royal. I may not personally like Mojo Rawley but he does have something and I think he is going to have an interesting career.
