Fastlane Predictions: Bad News Barrett VS Dean Ambrose

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well. This Sunday the WWE will present the first ever Fastlane pay per view, live on the WWE Network (remember all knew subscribers get the whole of February free). It was announced late last year that the Elimination Chamber pay per view was no longer going to be taking place and even though I was upset about the news at first the reality of it is is that there is no need for the show any more. Anyway, this week is officially prediction week and witch means throughout the next six days I will be uploading my predictions for each match on the card. You all know by now this is something I do monthly for every pay per view and they seem to be pretty popular. None of the posts in my prediction series have been influenced by any of my followers or readers but I would love to hear what you all think. Wrestlemania season has also already started on my blog. I was going to start the series later but I decided to kick start everything almost a month early, so lucky you. The links to any recent posts will be listed bellow including my NXT Takeover Rival Review and Reactions and my recent post in Wrestlemania season. Finally, you can let me know what your predictions for the show are and what posts you would like to see in Wrestlemania season by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria. I will also be live tweeting on Sunday throughout the show.

This Sunday, Bad News Barrett will defend he's intercontinental championship against the lunatic fringe, Dean Ambrose at the first ever WWE Fastlane pay per view. The match came about after Ambrose defeated Barrett a thew weeks back in a one on one match during an episode of RAW and after Barrett refused to give him a title match, Ambrose decided to tie the IC champ to the post and force him to sign the contract for a one on one match at Fastlane this Sunday. The past thew months haven't been the best for both superstars and so this weekend is really important for the two of them. What they need is a really strong, long match. This will be Barrett's first pay per view title defence and first major match since returning from he's injury. With Ambrose and Barrett being two of my personal favourites, my expectations are high and I'm expecting a lot from them this weekend. But with a not so strong build up and most of the attention on Bryan and Reigns, do these guys have the chance to steal the show? Will they be given the right amount of time to put on a great match? Will the championship change hands? And what will hold for the both of them after Fastlane? Today, I will hopefully be answering those questions, looking back at what the two have been up to this past year and giving you my full predictions for their match this Sunday.

Dean Ambrose has spent the last twelve months right at the top of the roster. Since the split of the Shield, he has become on of the most popular singles Wrestlers on the main roster,  he's one of the most must see stars and has climbed he's way to the top. He's feud with Seth Rollins saw some of he's best work and altogether was one of the best feuds to come out of the WWE in many years. He then had he's feud with Bray Wyatt, witch did have really high expectations from the fans but as I mentioned before it didn't go down well at all. There was not enough attention on the feud what so ever and because of the all the extreme stipulation match ups, it just didn't work and the fans couldn't connect with the storyline. Since then Ambrose has been really struggling to get back on track. He didn't have the best of performances at the Royal Rumble despite coming down to the final four and has been booked extremely poorly. This weekend is really really important for Ambrose as he needs to get back on track. I think the problem at the moment is that the main event picture is so full at the moment, that there hasn't been a big spot at the top for Dean. I have worried that they are going to fail him but with he's level of popularity and talent the WWE cannot afford to screw up with at all. The work with Barrett will allow him to climb he's way back up at the top and will give him some kind of solid position on the roster. What I do worry about at the moment with all this is that now is not the right time for the title to change hands. Barrett hasn't been champ for long and their feud has completely come out of the blue, putting the title on Ambrose might not be the best decision but then again, he really can't afford a loss after the past thew months he has had.

Bad News Barrett hasn't had the best of years. This time last year he was at an all time high and things were looking really really good for him. After becoming the Intercontinental champion he had the crowd on he's side and he became a top star, competing in amazing matches on both RAW and Smackdown. But then of course he suffered a shoulder injury putting him out of action for about six to seven months. The timing couldn't have been any worse what so ever. Right as he was about to go into the Money in the bank ladder match and things were looking really good for him, he suffers such a major injury. Since coming back to action he has eased he's way back on track. Picking up the IC championship once again was more than the right move for him. To be fair he never lost the title in the first place and becoming a five time Intercontinental champion will always make Barrett look good. Storyline wise he has struggled. They have had him pick up a thew losses, one including against Sin Cara on Smackdown several weeks back. But he has had the odd couple of decent matched. I do think he needed something much stronger this past week, to give him a tad bit of momentum, a lengthy match with someone like Dolph Ziggler, would of been enough to add some heat, let him show off a little and of course give him some momentum. But he's win over Damien practically did nothing for him and hasn't contributed to the build up what so ever. This weekend he needs a strong performance and needs to pull something big out of the back.

What I'm hoping is that these two will get at least fifteen minuets in the ring. After not having the best start to twenty fifteen, both superstars need some time in the spotlight. Given the attention, these guys could very easily give us the match of the night. They both have such a great, gripping, almost
old school style about them in the ring and have a decent amount of chemistry. They are both extremely talented and have so much to offer. For some reason I don't think the championship will be changing hands this weekend neither do I think the match will end cleanly. I think Ambrose needs the win more. He's lost two major major feuds already and a clean loss this weekend wouldn't help him what so ever. If Barrett losses the title then I have no idea what they will do with either superstars next, especially with Wrestlemania around the corner. Either one of them could go on to win the Andre the giant battle, Royal but I do still think that Harper or Ryback are the more likely winners. What ever happens, they both need something strong after this Sunday's show. If Ambrose is crowned the new IC champ then what they have him do in the next thew months will be intresting but it could either be a good or a bad thing. He did have a great run as the Unites States champion so I don't doubt he will be a great a IC champion also, I just think that booking is key for him. Barrett will probably struggle. If they get enough time I'm sure these guys will have a great match and I have high expectation.
