Top 10 Superstars of the Month - January

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well. Today's post is a new addition to my monthly uploads as it's my first top five superstars of the month. I mentioned in yesterdays blog post that I will be uploading my top ten of the month at the end of every month, the idea is to have it up on the last weekend of the that month but I understand that may change throughout the year. I'm currently deciding whether or not to do both a top five of the week and a top ten of the month on the same week, I did this week because I wasn't sure what to do, but please let me know what you would like next month. The top ten is simply judged by who has stood out the mos and got my attention the most over the past month for TNA and WWE. It's also now Wrestlemania season on my blog and it will now officially start tomorrow, so keep an eye out for the first post in the series.  The links to any recent posts will all be bellow including my top five superstars of the week. Finally, you can let me know who your superstar of the month has been by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

10) Paige
Kicking off the first ever top ten of the month (January) is the only diva to feature in the post, Paige. This has been a great month for Paige and an amazing start to two thousand and fifteen. At the end of twenty fourteen Paige was announced as the latest cast member for hit reality show, Total Divas. When the sow returned on the first weekend of the month, Paige made her debut in episode elven and proved to be a great addition to the show. She added humour and much more entertainment and became a favourite very quickly. After a rather rubbish past couple of months, joining Total Divas was the first step in getting Paige back at the top as she began allying her self with veteran, Natalya. There may have been some tensions between the two on Total Divas but their odd friendship meant they made a pretty good team. As Paige began to re-enter the divas championship picture. With Natalya and Paige now feuding with Brie Bella and the current divas Champion Nikki Bella, it meant the attention was back on her. Several weeks back, Paige went one on one with the divas champ on an episode of Main Event where the two had one of the best matches of the month and one of the best divas matches in years and the match saw Paige score the win. After appearing in the Royal Rumble divas match, it was announced this past week that Paige will go one on one with Nikki Bella for the divas championship at the Fastlane pay per view.

9) Bray Wyatt
Up next is Bray Wyatt. Bray has had an intresting start to twenty fifteen to say the very least. As he's feud with Dean Ambrose continued Bray carried on stealing the spotlight as the two went one on one in the first ever Ambulance match to feature on Monday night RAW. The match was amazing and after an outstanding performance Bray was the man to score the win. After that things did die down a little for Bray as the spotlight began to shift on superstars like Seth Rollins and Daniel Bryan. But Bray continued to provide fans with cryptic messages about the Royal Rumble, while scoring the odd win every now and then over the likes of Erick Rowan and Jack Swagger. A couple of weeks back on RAW, Bray went one on one with former rival, Daniel Bryan in what was another great match. Then at the Royal Rumble, Bray had the most memorable performance of the night as he entered he's first Rumble match. He may not have one but he dominated the Rumble and was centre stage for a good chunk of it.

8) Baron Corbin
At number eight is Baron Corbin. Some of you probably don't get why Baron is even in the list this month but out of everyone in NXT I wanted to make sure he was in the list. Over the past month we really have seen Baron come into himself much much more. As he is being given more time in the ring and on TV we are beginning to see just how much more he can do. This month Baron has been continuing he's feud with Bull Dempsey and we have seen Baron dominate the feud. A thew weeks back Baron and Bull collided for the first time after Bull had made an appearance during another of Barons matches. The collision between the two was amazing. These are two big guys with a lot of talent and a lot of potential. It was then announced that the two would be going one on one for the first time on the first NXT show airing on Wensdays. The match was short yes, but a little longer than what we usually see from the two and Baron did show more. Corbin scored the first win and what an amazing win it was, I still can't believe how easy he make sit looks to hit the end of days on a three hundred pound man. The two collided once again this past week and Baron showed much  much more in the ring and I have to admit I was very very impressed. He once again got the win over Dempsey meaning that he will now take on Adrian Neville in the next round to be named the number on contender for Sami Zayn's NXT championship. Corbin also showed some mic work this month, it might not have been much but the amount of character in that one little line was enough to contribute to him being added to this months top ten.

7) Bobby Lashley
In at number seven is the first TNA star to feature in the list and it's of course, Bobby Lashley. This has been a very intresting past moth for Lashley but no doubt a great one. As he continued to be in the spotlight and the centre piece around the TNA World championship. He had a great match against Rood earlier on in the month witch saw him re-capture the championship, with the help of the beat down crew. I actually wrote more about this match in my top twenty matches of the month, January, and I will leave the link to that bellow so you can check that out if you haven't already done so. After re-capturing the championship we began to see Lashley turn face as he turn he's back on MVP.

6) Kurt Angle
At number six is another TNA star, as Kurt Angle makes he's way into the top ten of the month. This month saw the official in ring return of Kurt Angle as he took on MVP in he's first match. I will insert what I wrote about this match here:  First of all, it was absolutely amazing seeing Angle back in the ring and competing on such a high level. I have got plans this year to start writing much more about Impact, I want to start writing up Review and Reactions posts for the show so they may start next month and when they do the posts will be up on the Monday, mainly because the UK time TNA airs is  on a Sunday and I think the US date is on a Friday, correct me if I'm wrong. Anyway, back to this match, and yeah, I was pretty pumped for this match. I have to admit I've never really been an MVP fan; back when he was in WWE I wan never jumping and screaming for a match of he's but he is a great all round performer and that really did show in this match. As for Kurt, I think it's more than safe to say that I've been a fan of he's for as long as I can remember. These are two guys that have brought so much to this business and their experience really did show in this match. A nice, solid back and fourth match between two amazingly talented wrestlers ad the epic crowd really did make this match even better. Of course it was Angle that scored the win. With MVP now an official wrestler on the roster, the future looks intresting.

5) Brock Lesnar
As we reach the half way point, the current WWE World Heavyweight champion, Brock Lesnar, makes he's way into the top ten of the month. This has been yet another great month for the beast in carnet, Brock Lesnar. There is n denying that Lesnar had an outstanding two thousand and fourteen and he looks to be carrying that on in twenty fifteen. This month focused around the build up to he's Royal Rumble title defence match against Seth Rollins and John Cena. What was so great about this month is how many RAW appearances we actually got from the champ. Being a part timer we hardly get to see Brock appear on TV and it's mainly down to Heyman to sell he's matches; but January saw the champ appear much more than usual, especially as it got closer to the Royal Rumble pay per view. We saw tensions rise between Lesnar and Rollins, witch would set up great heat for their match on Sunday. We also saw Lesnar cut a promo and do some backstage mic work with Rollins. He's actual match at the Rumble was insane, one of the best matches the WWE have produced in years, and Brock was the man of the night not only retaining the championship but proving he really is a beast! On RAW of this past week the tensions between Lesnar and he's next Challenge, Roman Reigns began as Lesnar dominated once again in an interview and face to face confrontation with Reigns.

4) Austin Aries
Austin Aries comes in at number four this month in my top five superstars of January. As usual, Aries has had some amazing matches this month including he's two matches against Low Ki, one in witch saw him capture the X- Division championship. I will insert what I previously wrote about their first match this month against each other. We also found out last week that Aries now has a shot at the TNA World Championship. Previous post content-  I could honestly watch these two wrestle all day long, none stop. They are two of the best wrestlers around at the moment and have been for years. Their so unpredictable that you can't take your eyes off the television for a single second because you never know what your gonna miss and what they are going to do next and that's what I want in match. On this night, Low Ki was set to defend the championship against Aries and as soon as the match was announced was I was pretty damn excited to say the least because I knew we was in for an amazing match, and they simply did not disappoint what so ever. In my opinion the match could of been longer but I will always say that about a match between these two, the ending was perfect and a new champ was crowned in Austin Aries.

3) Low Ki
At number three in my top ten of the month (January) is Low Ki. Out of the whole TNA roster this month I have been mainly watching Low Ki, as he's been the one to simply steal my attention. He had two outstanding matches against Austin Aries, witch I just spoke about and I will insert what I wrote
about their second match. Talking of their second match, this was the one that saw things take a good turn for Low Ki as he re-captured the X- Division championship. He also had a seriously surprising heel turn closer to the start of the month witch by the way I did not see coming what so ever. PREVIOUS POST CONTENT-  Now, both of their matches were amazing but in my opinion this one was just a little little bit better. You may disagree. Once again, these two gave us everything you would want in any kind of match and they left me wanting more and more. I honestly could of watched them go at it for the whole two hours.

2) Roman Reigns
In at number two and just missing out on the top spot this month is Roman Reigns. Now, I have spent all month moaning about Reigns and you all know I'm far from a fan of he's but I cannot deny that he has bee one of the top stars of the month. Since returning late last year, he has been feuding with the Big show and this month we have seen Reigns dominate their feud even more including scoring a win over the giant this past Thursday on Smackdown. We have seen Reigns score win after win and improve on he's mic skills big time. Even I have to admit he has showed improvements on the mic. He's win at the Royal Rumble is just another factor that puts him at number two in this months top ten.

1) Seth Rollins
Finally, coming in at number and my official superstar of the month is Mr Money in the bank himself, Set Rollins. It does feel that all I ever do on my blog is talk about Seth Rollins, but he really has had an insane month. As the Authority were reinstated, Seth Rollins continued to be the centre of attention as Stephanie and Hunter turn the Royal Rumble championship match into a triple threat, now consisting of John Cena, the champ Brock Lesnar and of course Seth Rollins. In the build up to the triple threat match, Rollins gained momentum week after week after week. Picking up huge wins including over the fifteen time champ, John Cena. He's mic work is also something to talk about in this post. I have mentioned before that Rollins has improved on the mic so much over the past year and this month he continued that dramatically, and proved time and time again he is the best heel in the company right now. Rollins walked into the Rumble with the most momentum after scoring a win over Cena and curb stomping Lesnar on two separate occasions. On the actual Rumble night he took control and dominated a good chunk of the match and to be honest he had the best performance in he's WWE career to date. This was easily one of the best WWE matches of all time and Rollins performance was outstanding, he did stuff in the ring last Sunday I never ever knew he was capable of and set the bar extremely hard, proving he really is the future of the WWE. With Wrestlemania around the corner, I can only predict an even better month to come.
