NXT Takeover Predictions: Sami Zayn VS Kevin Owens

Sami Zayn VS Kevin Owens for the NXT Championship
Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope you are all well. This Thursday NXT will host it's next live show, NXT Takeover on the WWE network. Every championship will be on the line as usual and superstars and divas in locker room will get their time to shine and hold the spotlight. Now, every single NXT Live show has been outstanding, and so tonight the young, up and coming talent have a lot to live up to, but with a card this strong, I honestly believe we could be witnessing the best NXT Live show to date. I will be live tweeting throughout Takeover including throughout the kick off show my review and reactions post will also be on Thursday so make sure to keep an eye out for that. Also, Wrestlemania season has officially started here on my blog and the links to all the posts in the series so far will be bellow. You can let me know what your predictions are for this Thursdays live show and also what you would like to see in Wrestlemania season by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

At NXT Takeover: R Evolution we saw the much anticipated NXT debut of Kevin Owens, formally known as Kevin Steen. In he's first match inside a WWE ring, Owens took on CJ Parker in a one on one match and showed the NXT universe what Kevin Owens is really about and that he had arrived and he was here to make a impact. And guys, what an impact did he make? Owens was left trending on twitter, receiving rave reviews, an insane live crowd reaction and a standing ovation, all in a matter of ten minuets. For anyone who had never seen Owens in action, this was a huge eye opener and a warning to watch every move he makes. Scoring an impressive victory of Parker, Kevin Owens had officially arrived and was here to change NXT.

On the same night, Sami Zayn's road to redemption was coming to an end as he had to prove once and for all he can win the big one as he took on the longest reigning NXT champion Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship itself. After spending over a year trying to prove to the NXT universe and to himself that he could win the big one this was the final night in doing so as he's job at NXT was on the line also. Zayn vowed that if he lost this match he would leave NXT. Now, anyone who watched this match will say that it was absolutely amazing. These guys just took things to a whole new level and rose the bar just that much higher. They proved that they are future of this business and all their years of experience really did pay off. The match had everything, chemistry, skill, anticipation, emotion, character and all round outstanding wrestling ability. The closing moments saw Sami Zayn finally do what he has been trying to do all he's life. Win the big one, as he became the new NXT Champion.

However, just as everything looked to be all happy go lucky, with the whole roster celebrating Zayn's win, no one could have predicted what happened next. In the closing moments of one of the best live wrestling shows in years, Kevin Owens did the unthinkable and turnt on life long friend, Sami Zayn. As the two looked to be walking backstage, out of nowhere Owens attacked Zayn, leaving the new champ being forced to leave the arena on a stretcher. I don't know about you, but I did not see this coming at all and I remember going to bed thinking, what is life!? The execution was perfect, the timing was perfect and everything just made so much sense. Owens isn't just portraying the jealous friend. He's playing the guy that has had enough of being overlooked. The man who is sick and tired of being in the shadow of the people he worked with, watching he's friends and colleagues like Seth Rollins, Daniel Bryan, Adrian Neville and of course Sami Zayn, go on to achieve such greatness and him just not quite make it. And now, it's he's turn. He's turn to steal the spotlight, earn a solid living for family. What I love about this feud is simply how refreshing it is. This is a solid storyline that everyone can enjoy. There's nothing over the top or complicated about it; this is simply two amazing wrestlers with history finally colliding to be the best of the best. I would pay serious money to see more stuff like this on the main roster.

Since the dramatic events that took place at Takeover, Zayn and Ownes have both addressed each other, William Regal and the NXT universe, and have both gained some solid momentum before their match. A thew weeks back Owens and Zayn confronted each other with Zayn demanding a match against Kevin. Regal then gave Sami wanted and announced that at NXT Takeover we would see Sami Zayn VS Kevin Owens live on the WWE network. However, with Owens not earning any right for a title match the takeover match up would not be for the championship. A couple of weeks back, a contract signing between the two took place to main event an episode of NXT, during witch Owens declared he was not prepared to fight Sami for nothing and wanted the title on the line. Despite general manager William Regal not agreeing, Zayn did agree to championship match and so Regal changed it up and the match became a NXT championship match.

Now, I honestly cannot wait for these two to collide this coming Wednesday. There is not a single doubt in my mind that these two will steal the show and put on a truly outstanding match up. I ever predict this to be possibly one of the greatest matches in NXT history. The thing about NXT is even though they don't get as much TV time as the main roster superstars, they still manage to provide fans with some of the best wrestling matches I've ever seen and live show after live show they get better and better. It doesn't matter if these two get thirty minuets or ten minuets, they will blow our minds away. I do one hundred per cent believe this will be long match, the main event for an NXT live show is always around half an hour and I don't expect any less for this one either. I think the match will be split with Ownes most probably dominating a good chunk of it. The crowd will defiantly be split also, they both have insane popularity and I always say it, but a strong crowd make all the difference and lets face it, NXT crowds are always amazing. We all know both Owens and Zayn will give it there all and nothing less. What's also really important and what will really play a big role is their chemistry. These two know each other so so well. They have wrestled one another on numerous occasions and that plays another vital role. You can see how much chemistry they have when they just stand in the ring at the same time as each other, not doing or saying anything. It's more likely we will see Zayn walk away with the win. I can't see Sami dropping the title just yet, he hasn't held it long enough but the the thing about NXT is its so unpredictable and after Buddy Murphy and Wesley Blake's shock tag team championship win you just know that anything could happen and with Zayn more than ready for the main roster, don't rule a title change out just yet. I recently uploaded a post
talking about why there should be an NXT match at Wrestlemania thirty one, witch I will leave the link to bellow, and I explained why a Zayn VS Owens match would be best for the pay per view. But with the number one contender for Zayn's title being decided this week also, could you imagine if they had a triple threat with Zayn, Balor and Owens or Neville for the championship at Wrestlemania? All of this means anything really good happen this Wednesday at NXT takeover. But for storyline purposes I think Sami Zayn is walking away the victor. But what do you think? Let me know by leaving a comment bellow.
