Get to know: Charlotte
So today, as I mentioned earlier on in the week, we're getting to know Charlotte. Charlotte aka Ashley Fliehr was born on April 5, 1986 in Charlotte, North Carolina. As most of you already know Ashley is the daughter of two time Hall of famer Ric Flair. She has an older half sister, Megan and an older half brother, David. She also had a younger brother, Reid who died in match of 2013. Ashley has always been into sport and hold's two NCHSAA4A- State championships for volley ball, during her time at Providence High school; including being a team captin and player of the year from 2004-2005. Before coming to the WWE Ashley was a certified personal trainer. Fliehr signed a developmental contract with WWE on May 17, 2012 for NXT developmental. She soon adopted the name Charlotte and had her first televised match on July 1, 2013 where she defeated Bayley. The two would go on to form a tag team in late 2013 and defeated Aksana and Alicia Fox on September fourth episode of NXT. On the October tenth episode of NXT, Bayley accompanied Charlotte to a match against Santana Garrett, witch she won. During the match the BFF's aka The Beautiful Fierce Females, (Sasha Bank's and Summer Rae), came down to the ring and were cheering on Charlotte. To Charlotte's annoyance they tried to convince Bayley to join them. On November 13 on NXT, Charlotte turnt heel after attacking Bayley to cost them their match against Sasha Banks and Summer Rae ( BFF's) and joined them becoming the third member. Charlotte returned to NXT after almost two months absence due to an injury managing and assisting both Rae and Banks to their matches. At the end of February 2014, Charlotte would confront the NXT Women's Champion Paige in a backstage interview with Renee Young, after Paige's successful title defence against Emma at NXT Arrival, announcing her self as the next challenger. On Match 6, She defeated Emma in a singles match after faking an injury to gain the advantage. Charlotte and Banks would go on to feud with Bayley, who had formed an alliance with former WWE Diva's Champion Natalya. Charlotte was defeated by Natalya in a one on one match by DQ after Banks got involved. At Wrestlemania 30 on April sixth Charlotte along with Alexa Bliss and Sasha banks made an appearance as part of Triple H's entrance for he's match against Daniel Bryan.The feud between Charlotte and Paige ended on the April 24 episode of NXT, when Charlotte Banks defeated Emma and Paige with Charlotte picking up the pinfall over Paige. At the begging of May Charlotte competed in the tournament for the vacant NXT women's championship after defeating Emma in the first rounds and Alexa Bliss in the second round. She would then go on to go head to head with Natalya for the championship at NXT Takeover in witch was not only one of the best diva's matches in WWE history but one of the best matches of the year so far in my opinion. It was match between two amazing female wrestlers and I along with everyone else who watched the show enjoyed it very much. It had passion, heart, fire, excitement and so much more! It was on this night that my opinion on Charlotte completely changed. At first I wasn't sure about her, of course her father is a legend and she look's great, she 5 ft 10, athletic, toned body in fact an amazing body and a great attitude towards what she does but I wasn't sure on her but after her match at NXT Takeover I felt completely differently and not only has she become one of my favourite WWE divas but I really do believe she is on of the best female wrestlers they have in the WWE. With both Bret and Flair at ringside the two had an epic match and Charlotte got the win, becoming the NXT Women's champion for the first time. After a four month absence from the show Summer Rae retuned on June 6, distracting Bayley and allowing Charlotte to pick up the win. After the match, Banks, Charlotte and Rae attempted to attack Bayley but were chased away by Emma and Paige. This would lead to a six- Divas tag team match the following week that the BFF's lost after Bayley pinned Charlotte.On July 3rd, Charlotte get retribution when she and Banks defeated Becky Lynch and Bayley. After the BFF's split Charlotte Successfully defended her championship against Summer Rae. I think the split of the BFF's was a good move for Charlotte. I do think she make's a great heel and is better off staying a heel to be honest. This Thursday Charlotte goes one on one with Bayley for the NXT women's championship witch I will leave the prediction post to at the end of this. Charlotte is due to come up to the main roster very soon,in the next thew months or so. I personally can't wait for her come up the main roster, I think she will be a great addition and will change a lot of people's idea's about female wrestlers in the WWE. I think it would be great if she and Natalya feuded on the main roster. For some reason I think there is still so much more to see of Charlotte and we will see that very very soon. I think she need's to work on her mic skills a little, the character is good but she is strongest in the ring, wrestling and when she's in the ring she does stay in character really well.
