Get to know: Tyler Breeze
So today we are getting to know Tyler Breeze, hopefully a lot of you watch NXT and are aware of him otherwise you will probably not know who on earth he is, but by the end of this you will know everything there is to know about the prince of pretty himself. Tyler Breeze aka Mattias Clement was born on January 19, 1998, making him only 26 years old. I have to admit I had no idea he was this young at all! As some of you may know he's Canadian, six foot and only 195 lbs. He was trained by Lance Storm and Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW). He made he's wrestling debut in 2007 in Power Zone Wrestling under the ring name Mattias Wild.On April 25, 2007 Mattias had he's first match in Power Zone Wrestling, facing Sami Callihan, picking up he's first win. Clement wrestled for the Wrestling with Hunger Charity event from the second to fifth of April witch was held by NWA Extreme Canadian Championship Wrestling.Clement won a match on May 2, against Alex Plexis to qualify for the first round of the 2009 Pacific Cup he later lost however to Billy Suede on June 6, 2009. On September 5th Clement lost a tag team match with Dan Myers against the team of Jamie Diaz and Nick Price, it wad the first round match for the ECCW Tag team championships. The two teams would go on to feud however it was Jamie Diaz and Nick Price who came out on top. Clement would wrestle he's last match for the company before he went to Prairie Wrestling Alliance for ECCW against "Ravenous" Randy Myers witch we lost. While he was at ECCW he was trained by Lance Storm in Calgary Alberta.
On December second 2010, Clement made he's debut for Florida Championship Wrestling (FCW) at a live event.After going through several ring names, Clement made he's FCW TV debut under the ring name Mike Dalton on July 17, 2011 where he lost to Alexander Rusev. On November 17 of 2011 Dalton picked up he's first FCW win against Peter Orlov. He would go on to win a battle royal on December 15, to earn the right to compete for the FCW Heavyweight championship.He challenged Leo Kruger but lost the match. Dalton won the FCW Heavyweight championship on February 2, 2012 against Kruger, he's reign last 21 day's when he lost the title in a re-match against Krugerr. When WWE re-branded FCW to NXT Dalton debuted as an Enchantment talent on the NXT taping at Full Sail University, where he teamed with CJ Parker to face The Ascension. Dalton teamed with Jason Jordan on the August 1, 2012 edition of NXT and defeated the team of Hunico and Camacho. They lost a re-match to Hunico and Camacho on the August 29 episode of NXT. Clement re-debuted on July 24, 2013 with the new Gimmick as Tyler Breeze. On December 8, on the episode of NXT, Breeze started a feud with Adrian Neville after costing him the NXT Championship in a lumberjack match.Neville won the feud, witch ended in a couple of week's later. Breeze would faxe Xavier Woods at NXT arrival but both were squashed by Alexander Rusev. Breeze carried on feuding with Woods, where he even attacked him before a match with Rusev, before the two faced off on an NXT taping where Breeze picked up the win. On May 8, Breeze competed in a twenty man battle royal for a shot at the NXT Championship and was involved in a three way tie, witch to be honest I thought was rubbish because it was clear Breeze won. As a result he faced the two other winners, Tyson Kidd and Sami Zayn in a triple threat match the following week on NXT, where kidd won to become the number one contender. Tyler faced Sami Zayn at NXT Takeover in a number one contenders match, witch Breeze won. I loved this match and thought it was one of the best matches of the year. It was by far the turning point in Breeze's career, and a lot of people gained so much respect for him including myself, as he proved he is more than a pretty face and is one of the top performers in NXT by far without a question! In mid-June Breeze suffered with a broken finger witch kept him out of action for a month, he came back on July 24, defeating Mojo Rawley. Breeze faced Neville for the NXT Championship on August 14 episode of NXT, but was unsuccessful after Tyson Kidd got involved and caused a DQ. Then last week we saw Breeze alongside Sami Zayn and Tyson Kidd battle it out in a fatal four way against Adrian Neville for the NXT Championship with saw Neville retain. This match was just amazing, match of the year for me and won of the best Fatal four way matches I have ever seen. It completely changed the way I feel about fatal four way matches and they all did amazing. All four superstars stood out for individual reasons, and I thought Breeze was one of the top guy's of the night, I have to admit I may be a little biased because Breeze was my fave to win but yeah. He also had a tag team match on Monday night RAW last week were he teamed with Tyson Kidd to face Adrian Neville and Sami Zayn. This for me was match of the night and Breeze did amazing alongside everyone else, proving to the world that NXT is best for business and the future of the WWE looks to be very very bright. I think Breeze is an all round superstar and pretty much has it all. He's got some pretty decent mic skills, he works the gimmick so so well and it suits him perfectly. He's confident and diverse and he is by far one of the brightest most gifted superstars not only in NXT but in the WWE as a whole. He has proven he's more than a pretty face and is one hell of a wrestler. I think he would pull off an amazing baby face just as much as a heel but I have to admit that I think staying Heel is best for him. I really do hope the WWE know what they have with Breeze and they keep the good booking for him when he goes up to the main roster and I think there is so much they could do with him and the character.
