Smackdown Review And Reactions

Hello everyone and welcome back to Talk Wrestling World, I hope your all well. It's Friday, witch of course means it's time for my Smackdown Review and Reactions. As you will already know by now, this year will I will now be adding Smackdown, NXT and Main event review and reactions to my regular post uploads. Last week's edition was up on the Saturday but with Smackdown now airing on Thursdays (I believe it's Wednesdays in Canada and Friday's still in the UK) this post will be going up on Friday's now with some weeks may be being delayed to a Saturday. I will leave the links bellow to any recent posts including last weeks Smackdown Review and reactions and this weeks Total Divas, Main event, NXT and RAW review and reactions posts too. Finally, You can let me know what YOU thought of last night's episode of Smackdown by leaving a comment bellow or by tweeting me at @TezangiVictoria.

So last night Smackdown returned to Thursdays and with a new intro and commentary team added to the show things were looking good for what has been one of the weakest WWE products in years. At first I was very doubtful about Smackdown moving back to Thursday nights and I wasn't really looking forward to it but in time I became very optimistic and began to like the idea. What  I noticed last night was how the show had massively improved. Props to the WWE because they really have listened to the fans and realised that the product needs a lot of improvements and they have really  worked hard on making Smackdown much more enjoyable for the viewers and much more up to date. That being said I did think the opening was a little dated but I think it's just because I'm so used to seeing it the way it was so it's gonna take a little bit of time getting used to. As for the commentary team I was very very happy. I honestly think that moving Jerry to the Smackdown announce team was best for him and for the Smackdown product. The show just feels much more important and up there with RAW. I still don't think there was a need for Cole to be doing both show's, he's voice still drives me crazy (and not in a good way). I also mentioned a lot last night and this morning how amazing Byron did. He got a lot of hate for "taking Tom's place" on the show but he did absolutely  amazing last night and you could never tell he was the new guy; he's voice bended in really well and he was so professional, playing the heel commentator perfectly. I think what a lot of people seem to have forgotten is that Byron is very experienced when it comes to commentating, he did a great job for main event, FCW, NXT and now Smackdown and a fresh face and voice is exactly what the show needs, it felt young, and new and fresh. The changes really are paying off. Now let's get into the show and what went down.

Daniel Bryan VS Kane
Last night also saw the in ring return of Daniel Bryan. After being out of action for nine months with a serious, career threatening injury, Bryan was set to take on Kane in he's first match back. Before the match began Bryan had in ring interview was Byron Saxton. I also want to quickly mention how great Byron was in this role too. He was so professional and once again you would of never of guessed he was so new to the role. The interview was exactly what we needed before the match actually began. It added the extra interest and excitement and also helped build the Royal Rumble pay per view witch of course is now only two weeks away. As Kane made he's way down to the ring he came with Authority members the Big show, Triple H, Seth Rollins and J&J security, witch mean we and Daniel Bryan were not going to be in for a peaceful night. Now, I actually liked this match and was really getting into it, witch I never thought would actually happen because to be honest I freaking hated the Bryan/Kane feud last year. But the match just flowed really well. Because of the back story it was so easy to feel passionate about the match. Another thing I liked was that they didn't have Bryan dominate the match and it was actually split. I honestly thought that because Bryan had been gone for so long they would have him dominate a good chunk of the match but it didn't go that way at all and the match was a nice start to the show. Of course thing's didn't go the way Daniel had hopped, after all the Authority were at ringside watching every single move in the ring. Just as Daniel was going in for the win J&J security got involved causing the match to end in DQ. It didn't take too long for things to get a little crazy and for the numbers to take its thole on Bryan, but  thankfully Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns come to he's side and with the numbers even Triple H announced that
the main event would see Bryan team up with Ambrose and Reigns to take on The big show, Seth Rollins and Kane.

The Miz, Damien Mizdow & Alicia Fox VS The Usos & Naomi
Up next was a mix tag team match as Alicia Fox teamed up with Damien Mizdow and the Miz to take on the current tag team champions the Usos and Naomi. You all know full well I'm not a fan of either of these tag teams, especially the Usos but I tried really hard last night not to moan and to just watch and give them a chance and actually I was fairly impressed. Nothing super amazing happened but  it was a good quality match and better than what we usually get on Smackdown. Naomi and Alicia also did a great job. Alicia really knows how to play the heel role perfectly and wind the crowd up. She knows how to get under the skin of the WWE universe and use her move set to show how much of a heel she is. Naomi is also doing a great job, I'd like to see her calm down a little in the ring just so her matches can flow better but her move set is insane and she just keeps giving us more and more. The match was really good as I said, Miz scored yet another win over the Usos and it was also announced that Jimmy and Jey will defend the tag team championships at the Royal Rumble pay per view against The Miz and Damien Mizdow. My Royal Rumble predictions will begin on Monday.

There was then a segment between Seth Rollins and Paul Heyman with Heyman first stating out talking about the Royal Rumble pay per view and what happened during the closing moments of this weeks episode of RAW. Of course Heyman just owned in he's promo. Brining up what happened on RAW and once again mentioning the Undertaker and what happened at Wrestlemania thirty, really rubbing it in in the faces of the WWE universe. However, Heyman was cut short when Mr Money in the bank interrupted him and with J&J security by he's side he's made he's way to the ring. Now, can I just saw how impressed I was with Rollins in this segment. He took control and the space of a year he really has become a strong speaker. He knows how to stay in role as Seth Rollins the major heel and he knows how to push a feud and match using he's mouth and mic skills. Honestly, after that little segment I really can't wait to watch the match up between Rollins, Cena and Lesnar. Of course by the end of the segment it was King Heyman who had the last words.

Natalya VS Nikki Bella
Up next was a none title match between Natalya and the current Divas champion Nikki Bella. Over the past couple of weeks the WWE have been hinting a title match between Nikki, Paige and Natalya at the Royal Rumble pay per view, with both Divas getting a win over the champ. This match was a short one but what I loved was how much they were able to show. In the little time they had they both had some great spots and showed a lot of strength and basic but impressive technicality. After the sneaky slap across the face from Paige, Nikki was distracted enough for Natalya to use that against her and get Nikki to tap out, giving Nattie another win over the champ. It should be announced this week on RAW that the three will compete for the title at the Royal Rumble, they might as well find a way to put Brie in the match also.

Sin Cara VS Bad News Barrett
There was then an Intercontinental championship match as Bad News Barrett defended the title against Sin Cara after he scored a win over the champ last week on Smackdown. The match was short and simple but once again it was a good match. I will leave a link bellow to last weeks Smackdown review and reactions so you can see what I thought of Sin Cara getting the win last week and working more on the main roster. I was really happy with this little match. Of course Barrett retained and what
an amazing ending to the match it was.

Daniel Bryan, Dean Ambrose & Roman Reigns VS Seth Rollins, Big Show & Kane
Main event time now and as announced earlier on in the night Daniel Bryan would team up with Dean Ambrose and Roman Reigns to take on Seth Rollins, the big show and Kane. Great main event. I really really liked this match. Finally they gave us a main event on Smackdown that was worth watching. Stand outs of the match were Ambrose, Show and Bryan for me. In my opinion they just stole the show. Ambrose was in the ring the most and he's performance was really strong. Rollins, Reigns and Kane also had a good night and solid performance during the match, but of course it was the team of Daniel Bryan who got the win and gained some momentum heading into the Royal Rumble pay per view in two weeks time.
